Beautiful restaurant, decent food with great service.

Service was a little slow. Our server took forever to come to the table however the food was great (calamari app and chicken entree) and the drinks were very strong. Overall nice experience!

We have been to the Halcyon before and our most recent visit was just as excellent. NYC like ambience coupled with top shelf food.

Wonderful in every aspect . Would like to know about daily events there . Maybe specials ... music...etc.

Predictably fine seafood. Experienced wait staff, dishes change regularly with a broad selection, good raw bar, and you can make a reservation throughOpen Table( competitors in the area do not offer that option and it hurts them)

We went here for brunch, the food was pretty good - large portions. The restaurant space is very attractive.

This was my third time at this establishment and the service at least for my group was avg. The server seemed like she did not want to be bothered with us . I ordered the steak special which was mostly fat!! and the steak tacos, well lets just say " where was the steak in them. Upon leaving , I said thank you and she responded " OK " ?? and just walked away. Never was treated like so, so. Probaly will not be back. It's sad.

Made reservations for a birthday but staff (hostess) has to be reminded. Overall, it was a nice dining experience but nothing amazing or worth the cost. Service was ok, not super attentive.

I have gone to this gem of a restaurant many times and every time I dine there I have a great experience. The only downfall is that parking is a little challenging. However, the food ( kudos to their chefs) is nicely flavored with each bite, the place is cozy, very nice ambience , their service is top notch. It’s well worth the dining experience.

We went for Sunday brunch and the food was wonderful. It was a quiet day so the noise level was low. I would definitely go back.

This restaurant is OK and I will return. The food and service were good. One knock is that the two kinds of clams they serve are very very small and not remotely worth $2.00 each. A seafood restaurant should do better. The oyster selection was good on the night we were there and my date's filet mignon was cooked perfectly. Salad had a lot of lettuce and dressing but was unremarkable and not worth the money.

I choose this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. The reviews said it was a quiet, romantic spot and good for a date. It was St. Patrick's Day, so it was none of the above. But food was good, a bit pricey.

Food was fresh, tasty and plentiful, but everything was served lukewarm. We had uniquely prepared mussels, cod, salmon and swordfish. When leaving, I mentioned this problem to the hostess so that she could alert the chef. I received a shrug of her shoulders. The overall service was minimal and inattentive. Too bad !!

Lovey restaurant, bravo to the Chef. The specials and menu are always exceptional and the staff is friendly yet very professional. This is a lovely place for special occasions to couples date nights as it is very romantic and there is a lovely lounge upstairs with another bar.

Halcyon is just lovely inside. The decor adds to a fine dining atmosphere. Service was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Oysters were well chilled (so important!) and Paella, Branzino and Scallops entrees were all delicious . We will definitely be back!!

Only complaint was 3 appetizers came out and had to wait for the 4th. Should’ve come out together

Great ambiance and good food, but be prepared for city prices, minus the quality service. The staff was very friendly, but I don’t think the level of service was on par with most higher end restaurants.

Halcyon Brasserie has it all. A lovely atmosphere, great drinks, marvelous service and most importantly, fabulous food. It's not a large menu, but well varied with nice sized portions. The crab cakes, mussels, paella and fish tacos were fabulous! We can't wait to go back!

Absolutely amazing service and the food was outstanding. Had to change resv last minute and they accommodated us with a smile. Oyster oyster oysters. Place was one of the greatest dining experiences I had in a while

very disappointing. first the good--good drinks and octopus appy. Bad-bland swordfish, very average skatefish, dishwater coffee!

They no longer offer their "simply grilled" menu, which I was extremely disappointed about... and they wouldn't modify their menu accordingly. My only complaint.

Airy, clean and wonderfully furnished. The most important thing to me though is the food. Quality and chief's ability to combine different spices created a pleasurable experience for my taste buds. Though pricy, you get what you pay for. Will return.

Wonderful Valentine's dinner. Second visit and impressed again. Great selection of fresh seafood and affordable wines. Thoroughly enjoyed the New Bedford Scallops. Solidly on the date night list for good.

Fantastic from entering thru the meal and exiting .

We went here for Valentines Day. Our food was very good. Excellent Brussel Sprouts. I had the Strawberry Sea Bass it was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and a nice guy. No price fixe for V day that was great. We have been here for dinner before and it’s always such a nice inviting place.

Pecan crusted cod was oustanding! Excellent service; attentive, but not intrusive. Excellent wine list and creative cocktails.

Cute place tucked away in Montclair, away from the bustle of Bloomfield Avenue. Solid menu and drinks. Get the grilled lobster and the orange upside down cake with the lavender gelato! Fantastic!

The grilled Maine lobster and oven roasted branzino was delicious. They both had the write amount of seasoning. The drinks were a good balance of strong and savory.

Grilled octopus was tough. Should have been beaten more prior to cooking. Portions are small and measured. Good to try once and move on. $9 for pomme frites? Come on

The grilled oysters with olive oil and parmasean cheese were amazing. My cod was perfectly cooked and mouth watering at every bite and my partner really enjoyed his salmon dish. This place is a great local gem.

We took our son to dinner at Halcyon. We were looking for a seafood restaurant on a Monday night. The restaurant has great ambiance and had a great jazz trio. Food was good. Restaurant was a bit loud.

We enjoyed the food but had a 8PM reservation and were not seated till 8:40PM.

Atmosphere and decir is great, raw bar is fantastic but pricey. Salad portion was tiny and fried calamary were over fried and placed on the he top of french fries that I didn't order. I very single dish was spicy.

Nice neighborhood spot, food was okay, filet mignon was over cooked, sea scallops were fresh and cooked well as was the grilled octopus. Service was okay. Overall a very clean, well maintained facility, nice bar area and lounge, the table area is small and tight and the noise level is very high, not a place for a quiet dinner and conversation.

Drinks were good. Food was amazing!!!!!
I think they need more dessert options without hazelnuts (I’m allergic) so I skipped dessert that night.
