It would have been great except for the extremely lousy, inattentive bartender with an attitude. Waited an insane amount of time for food. Obvious that they messed up the order but instead of taking ownership he gives me a line about how it comes when it’s ready. It was total bs as after saying something everything came at once....all 5 dishes after a good hour.

Just brilliant.....food and service outstanding, just the right pace with a restaurant vibe and atmosphere that makes it very unique. The dim sum were just truly delicious as were the spicy tiger prawns, black pepper rib eye and the coconut & lychee dessert. Highly recommend this restaurant, one of the best.

Our service was very friendly. Food runners robot like and very much in a rush to get away from the table. Champagne by the glass was flat, but a new bottle was opened right away. Overall the food was very well prepared, if not terribly creative. The design was warm and comfortable. Hostess very friendly.
When I called during the day the person answering the phone was very polite and professional. Well run, just feels a bit corporate. I would go back!

A great dining experience in the heart of downtown San Francisco. The service there throughout our evening there by all staff was impeccable.

I had the Taste of Hakkasan set for lunch which was quite delicious. The meal is a bit expensive but it was enjoyable and reasonable for the markup (and I guess the brand name). The restaurant had the decoration of an upscale restaurant but the atmosphere was as loud as, if not more, than a bustling Chinese dim sum restaurant, which was quite disappointing. I went alone, but I was waiting for a pretty long time between dishes. I was told the kitchen was backed up in orders and it’ll take longer than usual, so my overall dining time ended up being nearly an hour and a half. The waiting staff was extremely busy when I went but were very hospitable.

Food for 2 of our guests never came out after 60 min. Manager sharply reminded us that their kitchen was just too busy. Won’t go back.

It is my birthday celebration, I bring the cake in but the restaurant charge me $6 to cut each pieces and use 1 hour to cut the cake. During this time, there is no waiters come and refill the water for us. The service is so poor but I still gave 10% tip. I think this is not worth the price. They try to make their restaurant like a Michelin 1 star but it doesn’t make me feel like the service worth 1 star. The food is also bad. We tried two types of soups but they are all too salty. Really bad restaurant and I will NEVER come back again!

Upscale Chinese restaurant serves very good quality food that is priced at the upper reaches of Chinese food. If you don't mind the prices, I recommend the restaurant for the very well prepared dishes in an attractive environment.

The Taste of Hakkasan was reasonable at $29/person but it has been raised to $38 which is too high. Everything at this restaurant is expensive. Food is good but high cost. Ambience is elegant. Service is above normal.

Slow service at a business lunch (getting ordered, getting food, ran out of water, and getting the bill). Main course (claypot sea bass) swimming in pure butter without much else to flavor. Nice truffles though. Expected much more at this price point.

Food and ambience was great. My only complaint is that main course was served too quickly. We were still eating our appetizers when they brought the main course. At this prize the servers should know that we are there for experience as well. Don’t order main course until you finish your appetizers.

The dim sum platter was amazing! While the food was quite pricey, it is a very nice upscale place to go for a special occasion. We enjoyed every dish we ordered and will definitely be going back.

The food was excellent just don’t expect it to come out in a timely fashion. Even a glass of wine took a while to come to the table. My sever Cory was great and was apologetic he even took care of our app bc it took so long. I would eat here again.

Service was not great. Had reservations on a Monday night...the place didn't seem busy...had to wait at the bar for our table for 15 minutes and then we got seated and waited another 20 minutes just to have our orders taken. Food was very delicious though but unfortunately portions were very very tiny and not up to par. Not worth the money. For the money you are better off having a big delicious steak or Italian food.

Third time at this location, we always plan on eating here when we are in San Francisco. The dumplings are the best I've had (vegetarian), but my husband orders the meat version. Solid vegetarian menu.

Food was excellent, service was great. Issue was the really really loud music. For 2 on a date (we are in our 40's but not act that) it was hard to really enjoy conversation. I said "pardon" one too many times. Pretty expensive although we knew going in. Portions are very close to serving size. Not too much not too little. Overall I wouldn't visit again. It's one of the places you say. Been there. Done that.

Spectacular!!! This is one of the best restaurants in one of the best restaurant cities in the country. The food, service and ambiance were perfect. Don't be put off looking in from the street where you see an empty hostess stand. The restaurant is on the 2nd floor and definitely worth the elevator ride.

The food was pretty good and the atmosphere is very trendy and upscale. Fell short by the waiter. It took 20 minutes to get our drink. Our apps and soup arrived before our cocktail. The waiter gave us a lame excuse how the bar staff was busy. As a paying customer, don't give me a lame excuse. That is not my problem that your restaurant is under staffed.

Also the waiter recommended a dessert that tasted awful. WE told him we didn't like it when he asked us to leave it up to him to bring the special for the night. He did nothing about it.

You want to improve, get better staff and learn to manage a restaurant. The food is no longer good if the experience is poor!

We’re never disappointed dining at Hakkasan. From the moment you enter you feel welcomed. The ambiance, service, cuisine and its presentation are always impeccable. Their unique cocktails, varied menu (vegetarian friendly), and deserts are always perfectly prepared and served. They are discretely attentive during your entire dining experience. Highly recommended for all occasions.

Dimsum appetizers and entrees were solid. A piece of broken glass found its way into our food - we informed the manager who was non-apologetic and did not como our meal. Do not recommend Hakkasan after this experience.
