Really was disappointed as I was expecting exceptional and frankly it was mediocre.
We've dined here a few times. We ordered the short rib & a vegetable dish that arrived cold to the table. The manager immediately apologized & bought us a round of drinks. The food returned back nice and hot and we really appreciated the attention from the manager. we'll certainly be back!
If you know anything about asian food I would highly recommend you avoid this place. I rarely take the time to write reviews but after an extremely disappointing, flavorless, $300 meal I don’t want others with fair standards to eat at this place too. Go hit the Slanted Door down at the Ferry Terminal - endlessly better flavors and a third of the price.
We visited whilst on holiday in San Francisco and the food at Hakkasan was amazing, as was the service. The staff really went above and beyond. The gentleman who served us, I am not sure of his name but he had tattoos and an ear piercing was great.
Normal chines food in a nice setting and much more expencive!
Enjoyable environment , great food and good service
What an amazing night! The food and service was everything I remembered and loved.
Awesome food,
Absolutely amazing!
Great food great atmosphere
it was great, food, service, ambiance, highly recommended
Great food, awesome ambiance, our server was missing in action a few times and we over ordered but at least it was delicious!
Brought a friend new to restaurant after last experience which had terrible service.
Happy to be able to come again after this experience
Stopped here on our way to napa. The food is better than I expected... but very expensive. Their food is very pretty and portion was very small compared to other dim sum places which I liked. My favorite was chives and shrimp dim sum.
An excellent evening as always. There are not many places in SF with a sexy vibe, great food and great drinks. Expensive but worth it for the totality of the experience.
Just meh. Service is slow....so not the place to go for a business lunch, and if you have to get to another meeting. Seated quickly - and the place was not full - but it still took some time to get server to take order. We wanted wine (by the glass) and that took some time to get as well. The food was good - but overpriced. Lots of other choices in San Fran if looking for good Chinese food.
food was superb from the duck salad to the taste of Hakkasan but the dessert was disappointing.. The chocolates were good, I was hoping that we would be having french macaroons, but the server said that they have not served it for for 5 months now! Bummed ☹️
Food is amazing!! I have been here a couple of times and have not been disappointed. Delicious!!
The food was very tasty and the waiters were nice, and introduce dish clear and detail. The environment was elegant. The only bad place was the distance between the station and the station too close. There was not enough privacy space.
Delicious, healthy and creative menu. Extensive wine list. Great atmosphere. Attentive, friendly staff. Go today! I went for the first time because of all the great reviews, and was visiting from cross country. Hakkasan did not disappoint.
Really enjoyed Hakkasan. The menu is fantastic and the food was really very good. There are a lot of great Chinese restaurants in SF, but this one is right up there and one to definitely visit.
Excellent food. A bit different and unique spins on some old favorites.
peking duck was outstanding, but ridiculously expensive. drinks are pretty good, and wine list is reasonably priced.
I love this restaurant! Cindy was such a great server that I will specifically ask for her again.
Excellent seating along the window. Less noisy than the bar. The duck salad was excellent. The grilled sea bass was outstanding
I come here once a month and this was a bad experience. Terrible service. Specifically asked if it was a special occasion (yes) and there never acknowledged it. Way too expensive for bad service.
Food was what I can find at a decent-quality Chinese restaurant (maybe a couple tiers above P. F Chang’s). To be fair here, I’m vegetarian, so the veg options I ordered were so-so though my friend seems to have enjoyed his meat dishes more (entrees as well as appetizers). But it was the service that was truly terrible—our server disappeared for a half hour at a time, not even bothering to check on us for basic things like water. Both my friend and I were annoyed at how we had to beckon him the rare times we saw him anywhere near our table for simple requests like getting rice with my entree. Prices were too high for the kind of food and service we were given. Probably won’t visit again.
Excellent food and service.
We were celebrating our anniversary and did mention that while making a reservation. I am so glad they made a note and got us on-the house macaroons for dessert. A restaurant doing that extra bit to make our evening special was a pleasant surprise. The food was amazing. If you want authentic Cantonese food look no further. Overall, we were more than happy with the food, service and hospitality. Price wise it is on the higher side.
Amber was amazing!
The service was inconsistent
I don't write reviews often but this place was simply amazing. From decor to food to staff to clientele... now a favorite in SF!
The bar was not busy and the bar tenders were not very attentive. The wait staff was amazing! Food was delicious! From the drinks to the tea and cappuccino at the end. Everything served as prepared with creativity and care.
If I were to rate Hakkasan purely on the food, it would be excellent. However, being at the bar waiting for our table became a purely terrible experience. The old Scottish bartender that works there proceeded to be very disrespectful and condescending.. He very purposefully ignored us as we tried to get his attention to order our drinks, but made sure to have laughs and conversation with the men ("bros") sitting next to us. When he finally decided to do his job and be a bartender, he did so with attitude and disrespectful stares. I am surprised a restaurant of this calibre keeps an employee like this on staff.
Beautiful atmosphere, gorgeous presentation, delicious dishes. The service was friendly and attentive
Best dim sum I’ve ever had!
Delicious taste experience! Can’t wait to go back.
Hakkasan has great food and ambience. Compared to NYC and Abu Dhabi locations, service was poor. At this price point I expect much more attentive service.
Great meal with the wife great service from cherice if that is how you spell the lady’s name and great atmosphere.
