Hakka Chow Ratings and Reviews
This restaurant consistently has great service and food. I enjoyed the Mongolian tofu- great vegetarian option. The other members in my party had fried rice- huge portion and delicious and sesame chicken which was also great. Highly recommend eating here for amazing food, cool decor/ interior and efficient service!
Very imaginative menu with Asian fusion cuisine. We have eaten there on several occasions and always enjoyed the food and service, For this special occasion a large group was handled efficiently and accurately. We have been impressed that the owner always visits your table and asks about your dining experience. This is a great restaurant with a different menu for our area,
We dine here fairly often. I requested a booth away from the bar because the three times we were seated near there---it was noisy. The booth we got was on the bar side---but down from there so it did reduce the sound.
The food, as usual, was great! I got the sizzling lamb and my wife got the crispy duck. Both were very tasty--and stayed nicely warm on the iron skillet beneath them. The brown rice was done to perfection. It has a perfect nutty flavor and the consistency was just right---sticky, but not too.
The wait staff is attentive, and the manager always comes by each table to make sure all is well. We will continue to patronize this great eating establishment.
We came to this restaurant specifically for an item that was on both the online menu and the menu in the restaurant. Upon placing our drink order the waiter politely informed us that they had not carried this item for 8 months. My date and I were very irritated that we had chosen to eat here because of a specific dish and then had to choose something we didn't really want instead. The manager seemed not to understand how to deal with an unhappy customer. He fumbled through an apology and explanation. We spoke with the owner and she contradicted what her two other employees had told us. Who to believe?? More importantly, why an I having to deal with this moral issue while at dinner?! It was truly disappointing. I had been looking forward to eating here for sometime. After this experience I highly doubt I will ever go back and will not recommend this restaurant due to their use of "bait and switch" and poor communication between staff members and clients.
We met 2 very close friends here at their recommendation. My wife is in a wheelchair, and we do not get out often at all. Our dinners were wonderful, and the service was on point. Since it is awkward and cumbersome for us to go out for dinner, I will be calling ahead for takeout. We love Asian! Carol had the peanut chicken and I had the Korean pork bulgoggi. We are eating it again tonight, because the portions are so generous. We shall return! Thank you for being here and so convenient for us. Respectfully Larry E Foltz, Captain, USN Retired
We had a bit of confusion with our reservation but did get seated soon after our reservation time. The food was great. The waiter was not focused on our table. He was always watching his other tables. He had to come ask us twice what we wanted to drink. He would hand us glasses or plates or our check and not even look at us, he would stare at another table. It was very rude. The food runners were very attentive. The one waiter was bad. The rest of the experience was great. We have eaten there many times and had great service. Be aware that it is very loud at times in the main restaurant.
We have been to Hakka Chow on numerous occasions and the food and service have always been exceptional. During our last experience the food was excellent, however the service was less then par. My wife's meal was not what she ordered, the food came out soon after our appetizers and the waitress never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. Nevertheless this will not deter us from returning.
We have family who drive an hour each way just to eat here, so we decided to make the 2 hr r/t as well. 10/10 would drive 2 hrs again and again! Food was incredible! Fresh, delicious, creative, beautiful! There were singles, couples, and families with very well-behaved kids here, it seems to suit everyone! We had a bar table and there was no noise, great ambiance, and our server was wonderful! Highly recommended.
The food, as always, was delicious. Being seated at HakkaChow always seems to be a problem. We made reservations for this visit but we still had to wait 15+ minutes to be seated. What made the wait more disappointing was that a party (our size) without reservations arrived when we did and was seated immediately after we were. The second group received their drinks before our server even took our drink order. If it was not for the taste and quality of the food, it would be difficult to return this restaurant.
This was my first visit to Hakka Chow and while it was a little slow because it was "sushi Sunday," it was worth the wait. Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff as well as management. They made sure we were enjoying ourselves, knew why the food was taking a little longer than normal, but did not pester us. The sushi was fantastic!! We will definitely be back.
Pics are better than the restaurant actually is. Food was super salty and the prices aren't great for the quality of the food. There's no ambiance, not even any background music. Went because it was given one of the top 10 restaurants in WS??? Had better food at a Chinese takeout honestly. To end on a positive note, the service was good.
I got extremely sick after eating at Hakka Chow. The shrimp did not taste fresh - it had a very odd taste to it. The server was very accommodating but the manager questioned me and made me feel as if I was wrong for not liking the dish. I was extremely sick all night and the next day. We will definitely not be going back.
