As always. :)
Fantastic Japanese-style service with very authentic food. Motsunabe is a must-try! It’s one of the rare places in LA where you can find authentic Kyushu-style motsunabe.
Excellent as always!!
Food took too long
Servers were much pleasant than before the pandemic
Screaming kids were annoying other patrons that we can see
Absolutely fab & delicious as always. The best Japanese izakaya in town.
If are looking for a great value in high quality food, well prepared and served, this is the place!!
I don't want tell about it. ------------------------------------------------------
Staff was very friendly, food was very good, I would come again. Wish there were more food variety, but the current menu is great.
The Omasake option was pretty worth it. Also definitely recommend the tongue, as well as the uni and beef dish.
The food is amazing!
Service was top notch and food was excellent. Had the omakase which was a great deal and a lot of food. Would love to come back!
Hachi is the best
We were seated in the outdoor area which was previously parking area with folding table and folding chairs. Not comfortable. We ordered beef tongue, ribeye steak, gobo chips, sushi combo, robata skewers and rice balls. Beef tongue was overly seasoned and sushi tasted a little fishy. Since we are outside, when water ran out, we had to wait to get ahold with someone only when they deliver food to outside. Overall, food was average, and there definitely is a lot of room for improvement of restaurant ambience.
The food was excellent, especially the izakaya grill items and the pork shabu shabu. The broth was AMAZING, rich and so flavorful. BUT our main complaint is with the timing; all of our izakaya dishes came right on time but we had finished all our food and waited at least another 20-30 minutes for the pork shabu to come out. We almost cancelled the order but glad we didn’t because it was the highlight of the night food-wise.
The food was excellent. Depending on what you order it can start to add up. It was for my son’s birthday and he loves sashimi so he really enjoyed himself. Overall it was a really nice dinner.
went there for a birthday dinner celebration with my partner. highly recommend the food 🤩
Hachi is an authentic Japanese Izakaya and the quality, selection and preparation could not better. We met friend we hadn’t seen since the pandemic who came from Orange County.
It’s great that Hachi is on Open Table.
One of grill Squid dish was not fresh and we all got stomachs
The service is as wonderful as the food. Great energy here.
Customer services was excellent and the food tastes delicious.
Good food and friendly staffs.
The staff handled a continual stream of people trying to be seated without reservations with courtesy and tact. This is a very popular place with good reason. The food is fun, delicious and we had a very, very good time. Just make sure you have a reservation, relax, order a beer, eat up and tip well. Everyone is working hard to reopen.
Great food, excellent service. Would go back again in a heartbeat!
The BEST Japanese Izakaya in CA!! I mean every dish is prepared and presented with attention to detail and thoughtfulness by very professional and experienced itamais. Two of us plus a canine ordered almost everything..……Assorted Sashimi so fresh, Abalone Sumiso, Octopus/Daikon Salad, Whole Grilled Squid, Mentai Potato Salad, Tsukune And Negima Yakitori Skewers, Tebasaki, Wings, Crab Croquette, Fried Mayo Shrimp, Jidori Omelet, Grilled Onigiri, and Pork SHABU/Ramen………All washed down with a pitcher of ice cold Asahi out on the tent patio as the sun set. The Strawberry Glacé desert was just a pure delight to end our fantastic feast. Natsumi and the rest of the Japanese staff makes Hachi even more special. Just like we dined in Japan!
Best Japanese restaurant, hands down.
Good but not great Izakaya. The chicken was excellent, the sushi was decent. Crab Croquettes were excellent.
This place is decent. Not the best. It used to be better. Their garlic ponzo Rib-eye is definitely not worth the $$ anymore. The quality of the meat has gone way down. They were also out of alot of sushi items when we visited. We enjoyed the Chicken Meatball skewer and that's about it.
Always make me happy
Outside is a bit much these days. I imagine inside would be great. Food is well prepared and delicious. Service is great and charming.
Overall great dining experience.
They are very pricy for small portions and all ala carte except for hot pots. The food was good but not outstanding. The service was friendly but rather haphazard.
great food! everything we ordered.
Motsu Nabe is the best! This is our 4th time here and we keep coming back for more.
Waiters were accommodating and extremely patient. Regularly checked on. They also have heat lamps which help for cooler nights. The food is exceptional. Will definitely return with friends.
Another fantastic dinner under the Hachi tent with my daughter and pooch. This time we ordered the Pork Shabu for two in a very rich, miso broth. So delicious after adding the thin pork belly slices, Napa and spinach.....but it is very filling because fresh ramen noodles come with the fixings and we enjoyed it as the last course of our meal. After a pitcher of ice cold Sapporo, very fresh assorted sashimi, tofu with anchovies, cream crab croquettes, crab salad, chicken wings, chicken meatball and thigh yakitori, grilled rice balls with spicy cod roe and Japanese potato salad, the shabu might have been a bit more than our stomachs could handle so we raised the flag and unfortunately passed on dessert. Hachi is the best Izakaya in LA, limited indoor dining is now available and well worth the drive to Torrance.
delicious food！！！ had a great time there! Deffinately going back try more food
Fantastic food and amazing value! Will definitely come back on a regular basis whenever we come in town!
My last visit was Xmas 2019. Sure missed the best Izakaya 🏮in LA because of COVID. But Hachi has survived and is still Ichiban in my opinion!!. With expanded nigiri sushi and great classic Izakaya dishes plus truly outstanding hospitality from Japanese servers, this joint was packed under the tent. And my dog was welcome to join us. That’s about as good as it can get!!!
Love the food always
