This is a trendy Japanese tapas joint in Torrance. Parking isn't great but there is a lot and usually you can find a space. Or you can street park if the lot is full, which it is sometimes. The food here is good and priced right. We are regulars here and we intend to continue coming. Hachi is on par with izakaya joints in LA. Saves you the drive.
This place is like having dinner in Tokyo without the airfare. Go enjoy the experience
Xmas dinner at Hachi!! What a special treat for two of us. Six fantastic Japanese girls serving the best Izakaya fare in LA. Started with the bluefin red and chu-toro sashimi followed by Japanese potato salad, chicken Karaage, tako salad, Kani creme croquettes, seaweed sunomono, , fried chicken knuckles, tsukune, chicken liver and negima Yakitori, grilled pork belly, mackerel sushi baterrra, Uni/ikura kamameshi rice, onigiri, and washed down easily with a pitcher of ice-cold Asahi just for me. If that ain’t heaven on earth.......LOL!!!!
Superb service and food
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Torrance. It’s always crowded and normally filled with people of Japanese / Asian origin (that’s our sign that it should be good!). The staff welcomes you in Japanese and with a party of 2 you are seated at the counter most of the time. It’s cosy and you can see how the chef prepares the food. The service is good and comes very often to ask for extra food or drinks. Most of the time we order the same food, so we started with oysters (this time they were really huge) combined with the home sake. After that we had the mayo shrimps, gobo chips, beef ribeye steak, crab croquettes. Everything was really good, only the ribeye steak was a little bit to dry. The beef tongue is wat better. So overall, it was a very nice and delicious dinner and we are definitely coming back!
Hachi feels like an izakaya but with more interesting and delicious food than you would expect, especially considering how reasonable it is. It’s very authentic, has a seasonal selection of fish and specials, and a pretty deep sake/shochu list. Definitely worth it.
Some of the best Izakaya you will find anywhere!
Loved the omikase. So good and so much food!!
Love this place! Great food!
I love Japanese food. I must confess, however, that sushi bars and rolls get tedious, even thought they're delicious. So, when I saw an izakaya, accompanied by many great reviews, I figured it was worth a try, even though it is an hour from my home in the San Fernando Valley. Boy, was I right. The food was just wonderful, with a variety of dishes not commonly seen in the US. The selection of sakes was fantastic. The servers were fun, attentive, and knowledgeable, too. I'll look forward to me next drive (soon). Seriously, this is a can't miss dining experience if you're a Japanese food lover.
Best izakaya food in the South Bay. But if you come as a party of 2 they squeeze you into the counter seats which are claustrophobic as hell. Better to come with 3 or more.
Ad always. Superb.
Thanks to the staffs.
Wonderful food, wonderful service, wonderful environment, wonderful people.
Super cool Japanese Izakaya just like in Japan!! Assorted Yakitori skewers, Saba sushi battera, Tako salad, Kamameshi rice with uni/ikura, dashimaki tamago, grilled onigiri, fried nankotsu, tebasaki, cream croquette, all FANTASTIC and washed down with a pitcher of ice-cold Asahi!!Our server Yuki-Chan along with the other Japanese girls provided outstanding service and attention to detail. Hachi is big thumbs up! Go for it.
Hachi never disappoints! Food quality and service is top notch.
Hachi never disappoints—quality of food, service, hospitality, and environment.
The food quality is excellent. We think they got very high level/quality chefs!
First time dining at this great restaurant. The food was so fresh and well prepared and the service was amazing.
I have dined here numerous times and always enjoy the delicious food and drinks. This time I was able to reserve a booth, which was wonderful so that we could hear our conversation. It can get noisy in the main dining area. Had a great time.
The food and the service were amazing.
The food and service are always good and consistent. Import to make a reservation.
You can never go wrong at Hachi! Everything is always fresh, tasty & awesome! Great service as well!
Hands down again!!!
Very fresh ingredients. Great service. I have never been in a Japan but my wife did and says it is authentic. We certainly will go back.
Great food, attentive service - food delivery was a little slow, but considering how busy the restaurant was, it was understandable. Highly recommended.
Food was terrific; great place to gather with friends.
We just got back from Japan and wanted to relive our dining experience but could never find a place good enough. Well....this dining experience just took us back - the hospitality, the good vibes, the amazing food, and the charismatic chef, was everything we hoped for. We will definitely come back with a bigger party next time. Love this place and definitely worth the drive from the SGV.
Great service, wonderful food, and very nice atmosphere. We will be back!
Amazing food! Great ambience! Their service was little too slow and one guy who seemed to be a manager was rude.
Hands down !!
Never going there again 😡
They weren’t friendly
The food was trouble
The service was the worst
Every aspect of the restaurant is first rate. Some of the best Japanese food I have had.
Another great Izakaya meal at Hachi. Every small plate from the chutoro to Yakitori were great, authentic and reminds of Japan. Service is always very attentive and all goes down well with a pitcher of Asahi!
Every dish was delicious! Favs are the beef tongues &
Excellent in every way . Do the Osaka’s right course. Divine.
Hands down the best Izakaya in the Southbay. The Gobo chips are addictive!
Izakaya Hachi had excellent service. The servers (more than 2) kept coming by to check on how we're doing with a smile. Ambiance is great and the place had energy.
