We had one of the best meals we have had in years! We actually made reservations because we loved the name ... but it was the food that was the "WOW" factor.

My wife and I chose this restaurant for their Valentine's Day special dinner. Wow! It was fantastic. The ambiance was wonderful. The service was excellent. And, the food was incredible. The value for what we got was definitely worth it, as well. This was our first time at this restaurant, but definitely not our last. We enjoyed it immensely. I had the Short Rib and my wife had the Steak and King Crab. The crab came out of the shell, so no hard work to get the sweet meat. The steak was done expertly. My Short Rib was tender and succulent. They started us off with bubbly and we then had glasses of wine. I had a Malbec and my wife had a Pinot Noir. Both were excellent. At the end of the meal, a meal not constantly interrupted by the server, which we loved since it was Valentine's Day, we received the dessert, which was, again, wonderful. Overall, the experience was pretty incredible and it was definitely one of the best Valentine restaurant packages we have experienced.

Food was amazing though the steak was a bit undercook which is not a bad thing for me but was noticeable. Portion size a touch small but delicious. Only true complaint is size of the table. The space is not small by any means but the table is not any bigger than a diner table. I spent more time clearing space and asking server to remove items than eating. Overall will return for the food which is incredibly tasty but the ambiance and comfort level need some work.

My wife and I had a wonderful Valentine's Day dinner and it could not have been nicer. It happened to be a Prix Fixe menu (due to Valentine's Day) but the options were expansive and the food was fantastic. Our server, Cora, was incredible - just the right amount of attention and space, she was very pleasant and made the meal even more enjoyable.

We have eaten at Habitat several times and have never been disappointed but this was the best so far.

Highly Recommend!!

We had a morning business appointment pending, and were pleased with the server's response to our request to be mindful of the time. We had a delicious and hearty meal and were able to depart in time to meet our commitment.

We enjoyed a wonderful happy hour for planning for a business meeting, and then a truly delicious as well as healthy meal. What a treasure to find this hotel and restaurant while traveling,...I highly recommend it!! In the charming area of Mountain Brook surrounded by natural beauty, shops, restaurants, and destinations of the botanical gardens and the zoo, this is a location to which I plan to return!

The food was way under par for a boutique hotel like this. The lettuce in the salad was brown, old and nasty lettuce from the end of the lettuce stalk. It's so easy to make a top notch salad, which most ladies love to order for lunch. I had people from out of town expecting a really nice lunch and 3 of them did not touch their salad after seeing it!

Everything was just ok but the price was the same as highest end restaurants in town so ok doesn't cut it. Quality control was also an issue. We got a baked oyster appetizer with four normal sized oyster and one tiny oyster. We laughed about it but 4 and 1/2 oysters for $16 isn't what a high end restaurant should serve.

We had a wonderful time celebrating a friend's 60th birthday. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. We loved the atmosphere and my tenderloin was tender and perfectly cooked! Great wine selection as well.

Our first time at Habitat was a great success. Nice variety and high quality foods. Tremendous wine options. Light options were delicious and the desserts were excellent. Focus is on local fresh produce and it is very nicely done. I very much look forward to returning to further sample the menu.

My wife and I were visiting family in Birmingham for the holidays. We decided to celebrate NYE with dinner at Habitat. The ambiance was nice and the services was great. My wife is vegetarian and the server was able to create a entree not listed on the menu for her. Although it was noisy due to holiday, it wasn’t unbearable and still allowed for conversation. We will definitely return at our next visit.

Christmas buffet. Food was plentiful and delicious. Service, not so good. Server took the drink orders, brought the drinks and disappeared. We bussed our table (set our plates on a nearby vacant table) between courses and fetched our own water. To be fair, he did drop by occasionally to pick up used plates and refill water glasses. (We were never asked if we wanted wine refills) I realize this was a buffet dinner, but this poor level of service is unacceptable.

My husband and I were there for Christmas Eve brunch after our church service. As far as I know, brunch was the only food items available until 2 according to our hostess. The food was very mediocre; fried chicken was fried too hard, omelet was fried too hard. The table of patrons sitting next to us were very loud. I know that this isn't the fault of the restaurant or management, but it was still very annoying. The manager, Dale Mardis, was exceptionally kind, courteous and professional. I can't remember the name of our waitress but she gave us the greatest service that we have ever had. I have eaten at Habitat before for my best friend's birthday party and the food and the service were phenomenal. During this visit I had the bacon cheeseburger and it was outstanding. I won't visit for brunch again.

My salad (with apple and blackberry) was terrific, the high point of the meal. I had catch of the day. The vegetables with quinoa were very tasty, but the snapper might as well have been frozen fish sticks. Very dry and overdone on one side....if it was properly seasoned I couldn't tell....just overcooked. I had the cobbler-like fruit desert with ice cream, and there was nothing special about it. My companion had the duck, and for him the breast was quite tasty; as was his salad (same salad). His dessert, the red velvet cake, was much better than mine.

Our server was well trained in appropriate service etiquette, and I appreciated him replacing the pale ale I did not like with a substitute. We were comped a glass of champagne as it was my companion's birthday, and that was nice. We were pleasantly greeted by the manager. However, there were long waits between finishing our meal, getting the check, and then getting our change. Too long for a premium restaurant. There was a lot of noise from the bar, as someone was being very boisterous. That may have been an anomaly.

Ultimately, there were a few high points, but too many low points. Also, I think the menu is trying too hard to be cuisine.

Very very sad evening at this venue. 7 of us seated promptly in an empty restaurant. We had our drinks and all ordered the hamburgers. Few couples came in and we were forgotten. Out of water, the burgers took nearly an hour to come out. Everyone’s fries were sadly warmed and were just remains of pieces. The burgers were over cooked, some with pickles and some without. Milos has much better burgers than these. We were ALL terribly disappointed and have no plans to return. Beautiful space, sad sad sad food

For my parents 51st wedding anniversary, we had brunch here. The staff was very courteous and took such good care of us. My father and brother-in-law said the fried chicken from the buffet was the best fried chicken they have ever had. The live music was great - neither too soft nor too loud. My niece and nephew loved playing Billiards. It was a lovely afternoon, enjoyed by all of us.
