Habana - Costa Mesa
Great service and food. Will be back.
Great place for family celebrations. Took my daughter for her Birthday
It was a great reference from Yelp, ambiance was great, had a wonderful luncheon with old friends just to catch up with our lives, it was cozy and homey that we stayed for a couple of hours. We are not Cuban to be able to critic the food but it was delicious, we finished our dishes with hardly a left over. Churasco was to dye for according to my friend the Cuban salad with shrimp and another one with seared ahi tuna was delish and my paella, well what can I say, it was one of the best I've ever had, but I had to have some help. Our server, who I cant remember his name now, was so friendly and attentive. Thank u. All I know is that he was burned in Mexico and raised in Oaxaca. Thank you to all who made our lunch experience so wonderful. I'll be back♡
Food and Ambiance were great, service was slow but friendly. Server forgot to bring Birthday cake which we had to remind him (?). the rest of dinner was great.
Habana is great place to dine and enjoy the company of someone special. The food is amazing and the ambience is very unique and fun!
Great food, service and ambiance. Love it.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. We went there for the New Year's Eve celebration. The food and service was awesome as always. They had a special menu but you could also order from their regular menu which was great because I was able to order the salmon once again! Drinks, appetizers, and deserts were really good too. They also had a DJ and cleared an area so people could dance. It was really nice and fun!
We ordered 4 entrees, and only one person liked his meal.
We went here for dinner, we made a reservation that same day with no problem. My husband and I shared a couple of appetizers and an entree, one of our appetizers was ceviche which was a little bland so we were disappointed. However our other appetizer and entree were pretty good. Service was not good though, our waitress never really checked on us and didn't even offer us bread that we saw on all the other tables, overall we'd probably come back if we got better service.
I have been to this location so many times, and each time the food has been exceptional. However, they have change the quantity of their desert menu. For the same price, I got less desert. I asked the waiter and he said that the management decided to do so. The taste was the same but definitely the quantity was much less to what I was used to!
Christmas dinner with friends
We absolutely loved Habana's Christmas Day event. Food was tasty and plentiful, service was friendly and accommodating and we truly enjoyed ourselves.
The salmon was to die for! So are the crab cakes.
Food was great, albeit pricey, but it is Costa Mesa. Service was great. Ambience was good, but a bit too dark. I thought I was the weird one for wanting to use my iPhone flashlight just to read the menu, but saw two other groups do it. I settled for putting the candle right up to it like I was working in a copper mineshaft.
Their menu was a bit lacking, but the food was awesome nevertheless.
I would definitely come back.
Everything was above par but entrees were all cold.
Fun place with great ambience! The salmon is fantastic and we love the sangria tasting.
Service is accurate and prompt
food is good size and spectacular
with every dish, flavors and spices are exciting
I met my son and his friend for dinner. I had such high hopes as I love Cuban food! Sadly, the noise level made conversing/hearing challenging and my food order was incorrect as the server misheard due to the noise. Also, the food was expensive and underwhelming. We sat on the patio to watch the rain while we dined. Unfortunately, the patio’s roof leaked and soaked my back. Color me disappointed as I thought I’d finally found a Cuban restaurant closer to home. I guess it’s back to Felix’s in Old Town Orange.,😞
They started us off with a complimentary small glass of sangria, then had appetizers of crab cakes and empanadas, main course was vegetarian tamales and dessert was the chocolate mousse in chocolate cup. Very good service in a beautiful setting.
Habana is a highly valued member of the restaurant community in Orange County. They do Cuban well and everything is delicious. I’m giving them four stars for packing in patrons like sardines. The back of my chair was touching the chair of the guy behind me and we moved like unsynchronized swimmers through the meal. (We were both thin people.) Our guest that night is an Iraqi war vet and almost had to leave due to the crowd and tight quarters. We were lucky that our table was close to a wall even with the lovely low lighting and outdoor seating. The commercial development of this area is really cute and makes great use of space that otherwise could have been lost on a busy street. In the future, I will try to go at lunch rather than dinner.
Great food like always but their dessert cart needs a little help but was not very good.
Great spot for thanksgiving dinner. Great staff & food
The place is a bit dark, bring a flashlight if you want to read the menu
Awesome! Very cool ambiance, attentive server, and delicious mojitos!
Sam and Destiny were fantastic service staff. They were personable and generous. We enjoyed the fruit desert stand.
Amazing find. We ordered 4 small meat plates and 3 vegie small plates between my son and I and we were stuffed but still had the large pork plate coming. Should've cancelled the pork because we were full but also because it was just ok not great. I'd recommend staying with the small plates as you'll get a great tasting with unique flavors and textures. Service was also excellent with great attention and explanations of the dishes. The pork was also seared tableside on a hot volcanic rock then finished in the kitchen. Nice touch.
The empanada and other appetizer were expensive and very disappointing. Microwaved croissants blech! The entree were very good.
I had the pork and my friend had the flank steak.
Great experience. The salmon was amazing. Soo good.
My wife & I love Habana and try to get there as often as possible. The food is always excellent and The Lab is a fun place to hang out before & after dining. Sean is a great server... always informative and enjoyable to chat with.
Slow service but overall pretty good. A few vegan options but very spicy.
Nothing out of this world but the ambience was nice out in the patio area. The food was good.
The seating outside it great and if you are lucky you gat a round table which was great for our group. Unfortunately, the noise level was more than energetic and it was difficult to hear anyone talk. Portions are big but not to big soy can share some starters and main courses. The srimos in garlic were outstanding as well as the Osso Bucco entree. Wine list is good but not extensive. We idd not have any Cocktails this time but heard they are good.
My wife and I have eaten here before and have always enjoyed our meals. My only complaint, minor, is that the lighting is so low that you have to use your phone to read the menu, but, then, that is part of the ambiance. Otherwise, all was good.
Both orders were fabulous. Love the outdoor patio ambiance.
Habana is one of our favorite restaurants in OC. The food is excellent and The Lab is a such a fun place to explore. Sean is an awesome server.
Habana was recommended to us by a colleague. We were visiting from out of town and decided to make a Friday night reservation. We were not disappointed. Great cocktails, solid wine list, great food. Would definitely return if we were in the area. The ambiance was great. Both the inside and outside spaces were comfortable and different from other restaurants. Great service too.
Haved dined at Habana Costa Mesa many times over the past 15 years. The food is always excellent as is the service. If the weather is nice, sit outside if possible.
Great Catfish Sandwich! Nice outdoor patio. Friendly Service
It was great, we will be back again!
Great food and great service. A hidden gem xoxoxoxoxoxoxox
