Food was delicious and ample. Decor was tasteful and fitting. Parking was a breeze. They even took a 5 year old gift card. But what stood out most was our server. She couldn't have been more gregarious and her recommendations were spot on! Definitely made the experience that much better.
I went for the first time to celebrate my father's 83rd birthday. We are Cuban and have had real bad experiences at other Cuban restaurants in the past.
My father and I were more than pleased with the outstanding friendly service and we loved the food. I really appreciated how they wrote "Happy Birthday" in Spanish and wrote his age on the platter with his birthday dessert. Very nice touch.
I would definitely recommend the Lechon and substitute the white rice with Congri - Awesome!!!
The waiter was very knowledgable! The food was Amazing!
The food was absolutely delicious!! Our party had 2 pork dishes and a prawn dish similar to risotto.
The service was excellent! Diana (sp?) was our server. She was friendly, professional, funny, courteous, and attentive. I asked her for a pork dish recommendation, and her choice hit the mark.
I have eaten here many times over many, many years. The food and the service have been consistently good so I always know I'm going to have a great time. Have introduced the restaurant too many friends who never knew about it. Now they call it their go to place also.
Food and service is always very good, and the environment is relaxed and friendly.
Delicious, authentic Cuban food. Sangria is homemade and wonderful, both red and white. Our server was outstanding! Will definitely come back to try more dishes. Definite thumbs up!
The young lady hosting greeted us with a big smile as usual. The servers are attentive without hovering. And the food is always so well prepared. I'm always asked what my favorite dish is ... and to tell you the truth, I have enjoyed everything I've had there.
The food was delicious and authentic cuban. Service was prompt and courteous. All of the staff makes you feel welcome.
Great decor, amazing music and really good Cuban food.
We were a group of 10 celebrating a birthday and the food was great. Everyone enjoyed themselves and all the orders were on target on taste and time from order. I would highly recommend this place if you are wanting more Latin flavor to your meal.
The place is pretty weird set-up as it is the front of the apartment complex. It is 2 story building with big patio set up...which is nice. The place itself is ok it needs some decorating and renovation as it looks rundown. The first food that we had was Ropa Vieja with tamales.....my husband and I left the plate cleaned up! :D The chicken soap is OK and had seafood Paella which is good not great. The plantain is kind of wet I've had very good plantains before I think I just want mine a bit brown and crispier. Black beans is pretty good and the friend Yuca too! I highly recommend this place if you're looking for good and pretty cheap Cuban Food. The service was excellent.
My family went to Habana Cuba for a birthday dinner and couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. It is tucked into a neighborhood, and could easily be overlooked. The wait staff was incredibly friendly, attentive and informative. We all thoroughly enjoyed the shared appetizers and main dishes! Two members of the group had to eat gluten free and were happy to find a gluten free section of the menu as well as symbols on the regular menu next to gluten free options! We will definitely be back!
We eat that this Cuban restaurant just about once a month. Consistently good food.
We have been here several times and our server made a good experience GRRAT!!!!
classic Cuban food, a little pricey for what I'm used to paying but the quality of the preparation was very good. Excellent and reasonably priced Sangria too!
One of the best restaurants I've been to since I moved up to the Bay. I've been here 3x in one week with different groups of people, and plan to be back very soon.
As far as the location, you would never find it unless you either lived in the area or used a service like OpenTable or Yelp to find it. It's a hidden gem with a very welcoming and service-oriented staff. It's fairly big with tables in two different rooms. The food is amazing. Three of us had lunch together and we ordered three separate meals intending to share with each other. This place serves family style, putting the entrees on their own dishes, and serving us our own plates and bowls of rice, black beans, and plantains; very well orchestrated. We shared a half pitcher of sangria which was perfect for three glasses.
Overall, a wonderful meal and delightful experience. I'll be back!
I've been here twice and ordered the same thing twice, so good! Maybe next time I'll try something new. The red sangria is yummy, the shrimp stuffed avocado, and habana bistec! Huge portions, leftovers tastes great with eggs the next day. Delicious desserts too, I've tried the flan and mango panna cotta. Reservations are helpful.
Best of all gluten free friendly! Yay!
The ceviche, surtido and the garlic sauce are a must. Great ambience and outstanding service.
The food is out of this world. You would not expect it walking in there, but the meals are incredible. The slow cooked meat dishes simply just melt on your tongue.
I highly recommend the oxtail and the slow cooked pork
I had an out of town guest and was looking for something he would not find at home. The food was very good. The service was quite accommodating (we wanted to visit over a leisurely dinner). Off street parking was a plus.
Have had great meals at HC before, but this was one of their lesser creations.
The parking was free and reserved for the restaurant. Easy drive from 880 and you are welcomed immediately. Their were locals and groups, families and couples. There is plenty of dining tables in two rooms , an upstairs , as well as a front patio. We were a party of four, given plenty of time with the menu and the list for beverages. The wait staff was great and friendly. The food was not fancy but delicious and felt comfortable, homey.
We will tell all our friends and go back ourselves. Great find.
We took friends of ours to Habana Cuba. They had never been and it had been awhile since we had been there. The food was as good as I remember. The service was really fantastic too! Our server had a huge party in the same room as us (upstairs) and she was friendly and willing to answer any and all questions we had with a quick smile. I noticed how easy she made her job look and I know it is not. I was impressed. The food was plentiful and yummy. I'll not let it go so long between visits of Habana Cuba.
Looking for something different? A WOOWOO or Cuban Libre before dinner maybe? Habana Cuba's menu is extensive and authentic. Their pork was cooked tender and moist with spices to bring out the flavor without burning your taste buds and the seafood Paella for two was enough for three and fresh as could be.
Consistently good Cuban food, great flavor and variety of foods to choose from. The service is friendly and helpful. I've been going for the last five years and always leave satisfied.
Habana Cuba Restaurant is always consistent in their portion size, flavorful foods, cocktails, service, and atmosphere. Diners can rely on an exceptional experience visit after visit. Even with a full house, our main server, Alex E., and his assistants were attentive and got everything correct in our orders for a party of 7. Alex was gracious and appreciative and interacted with our table in a warm and friendly way. His beautiful accent lent itself to the atmosphere. Our appetizers, drinks, and meals were prepared and Alex delivered them to our table hot and without being affected by the bulging number of diners in the restaurant.
Habana Cuba is a gem to take my boyfriend "home" for a meal reminiscent of his mother's and aunt's kitchen from his youth. The owner, Jennifer, and the cuisine are authentic as well as the beverage list being consistent with the Cuban culture and traditions. It is a warm, loving, festive feeling of being home, loving the comforts of Cuban food and feeling welcomed like family.
Habana Cuba was the perfect place to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday with special friends and fabulous food. Thank you for making it a wonderful experience once again!
I had the sea bass and it was very good as well as the black beans and rice.. Rice was very moist which I like and it went well with the sea bass and black beans. I think the hot sauce bottles should be cleaned more often to keep their appearance looking better.
A worthwhile restaurant that serves delicious Cuban food in a nice setting. The restaurant want overly busy when my boyfriend and I went so it made for a great anniversary dinner place. Service was good, although a bit slow when it came to getting a refresher on drinks. Overall, would recommend for group hangouts or a simple date night.
I come here every year with a large group for my birthday. Having grown up in Miami, I love Cuban food, and this place does not disappoint. The food is great and the staff are very accommodating.
We took our teenagers (yes they were grumpy on the way over) but enjoyed absolutely everything. Cuban variety appetizer, pork dish and paella. We even played a game to see who could handle the hottest spice added. The food was outstanding and the service was impeccable. We had a great bottle of wine for a decent price-my new favorite restaurant!!!!
Mother's Day dinner was great!
It was a very nice dining experience! Food was very nice and service was great!
We'll come back and will recommend to our friends!
Its difficult to call yourself a true restaurant when your best dish is a version of carnitas from a taqueria. The Mojitos were watered down and had very little flavor. Others raved on the Chicken soup, but I am not sure why. The soup was a cross between chicken noodle and abondigas,( Meatball and Potato soup). The service was at par, though seemed to be delayed due to larger parties. Overall, the $ 75.00 price bill did not match the quality of food we received. The Taqueria at $ 25.00 seemed to match the level of food served. Don't waste your time, go to the taqueria.
The décor isn't the Ritz, but the quality of the food and the friendly servers make this place a very popular spot. Make a reservation on weekend nights. It gets packed!
Went there for lunch. Food is great, friendly staff. Fun place to go
I wish there was a Habana Cuba in San Francisco. The food and service here is wonderful. I usually order the lechon (pork) and it's so tender. It comes with a generous portion of fluffy rice and a bowl of black beans, and plaintains. The chicken soup that comes beforehand is also delicious. For dessert we shared the flan. It was perfect. Our server was lovely. I don't usually drink cocktails so I didn't know what to order. She recommended a mango mojito and it was delicious! The service overall was outstanding. The men who brought our dishes and refilled our drinks were also helpful and professional. I will return whenever I'm in the San Jose area. Oh, and the music that was playing was great, too. Not too loud but certainly enjoyable. :)
Our go-to place when craving Cuban food. Have tried other Cuban restaurants but by far Habana Cuba has the best tasting, authentic Cuban food. Have recommended to family and friends.
Food was ok and considering we can't get Cuban good very easily- it was appreciated.
