Giddy up and have the Guacamole as an appetizer (it's prepared at the table). "The Mexicali," is perfectly cooked sirloin with refried beans and 2 cheese enchiladas--awesome. The fish dishes are very good. Salads are all very fresh and well prepared. Noise level is fine for business lunches that I have had here. It is a great place to bring out of town business guests (even Dallasites) to show off the heritage of the Fort Worth Stockyards.
This was my second visit here . Really enjoyed my first visit and now have enjoyed my second visit as well . Went with teo people who had never been before and they really enjoyed their meal as well. I got the shrimp with rice another person have the roasted chicken with rice and sweet corn and another person had steak . The atmosphere is rustic and upbeat and vintage connected to the very lovely and old Stockyard hotel. I have never stayed but would like too! Our waitress was very accommodating and gave excellent service. We were there on a Monday evening around 8:15 pm. I would return again when I return to the stockyards.
When we complained about my daughters taco kids meal being burnt the manager was very rude. She offered us another taco and when I asked for ice cream instead she said you have to pay for the ice cream and walked off before I could finish. She said she was too busy when I approached her again and was rude again and even some of the waitress apologized for her behavior. We have brought a lot of customers to this restaurant and sang its praises but with this rudeness and no concern for customer service we will not be rushing back.

Was really excited to try this out. I felt that the steaks were a little over priced for the quality that is served, we had cracks in our salad bowl, and the baked potatoe toppings were hand scooped out by the waiter at your table. I’m still not quite sure of what I thought about that. It’s a great place to go for stockyards atmosphere, but I wasn’t crazy about the steak. They also charged me extra for a condiment.
Steaks were perfectly cooked and one in our party had the cedar planked salmon- it was fantastic. Potatoes were perfect and grilled corn on cob was adequate. Did not see anything special or unique on the menu. Some variety on the sides would make a great steak better.
Food was fantastic, so was service. You have to try their red velvet cake.
They sat us between the bar and the restrooms. That was NOT good, especially since I reseved 3 weeks before. It was noisy and too much traffic.
I tecommend it but make sure thet dont sit you by the bar, Id walk away
Waitress vaguely interested in our existence. Fabulous table side guacamole and chips. Bread was dry and stale served luke warm - this was a first, since every other time it's been great. Salad was good but greens had some pieces that had already gone bad. Steak was perfect - the flaming tenderloin. I got cold limp soggy oily fries to compliment my perfect steak. Disgusting. I only ate a few and gave up. They had the texture of worms. So they do good steak and guacamole with chips. Skip the fries - my friend had a perfect steak with a baked potato that he thought was good. Check your salad before digging in. This was the worst they've done in the many times I've eaten there.
Overall, dining experience was very good. Food was decent, but steak was overcooked. Rainbow trout was a bit bland. Ambiance of being in Stockyards made restaurant experience more enjoyable. Server was a bit rude with slow service. Server did not keep up with drink refills and attention to customers. We enjoy going to H3Ranch, but they need to work on some improvements in food and service.
We arrived 10 minutes before our reservation, just in time to see people without reservations turning away due to the long wait. We love Open Table!! We were seated in the back room with the fireplace and I was freezing the entire time. My husband ordered the ribs - they were tough and dry. Both our meals came with corn on the cob which was tasteless . . . how can an ear of corn be dry? I had the smoked sirloin dinner, medium rare and it was completely red. The baked potatoes were fabulous though as was the fresh salad. We noted on our reservation the we were celebrating our anniversary (we ate here last year for the same occasion). It was our 44th this year and in years past (including last year at the same restaurant) we received a dessert to share. Nothing this year . . . All in all a disappointment compared to last year!
My date's food was not warm when it came to our table. The mix drinks were very good. The flavor of the food was good. I expect a place that has high standards that I make a reservation for two to have a dress code. What took away from our evening out was , my girlfriend and I were dressed nice and expected the same standard for others but we often saw people walk by in tank tops and shorts. This is not what I expected to see at fine restaurant. If you don't consider this a fine enough restaurant to implement a dress code then please make this known. The atmosphere was great for a happy hour environment but not for fine dining. Random waitresses would often come to our table request extra chairs from our table then bring them back to set up and break down another table. It was distracting to our stay and conversation. Knowing you have a fast pace busy establishment more controls should be put in place to distinguish those who are there for the loud atmosphere / drinks and who are there for fine dining. Any establishment can make a good steak and lobster but the high price should also include a more than reasonable ambiance and service.
I had the prime rib med rare and it was cooked perfectly, best steak since moving to TX. My mom had the ribeye which was also excellent an d we also had the smoked sirloin. Local beer was good as well. Definitely would go back and recommend this to friends. They do have a kids menu which i did not see online. Make a reservation because it can be very busy.
Is absolutely an outstanding experience my family met friends of my wife and friends of mine there we all gather together the staff was great the food was awesome Service couldn't have been better I highly recommend this place to anybody in the area that wants a good steak an awesome service
This was our second time at H3 as we usually make The Stockyards a stop in our agenda everytime someone comes to visit us for the first time. Everything in that area is a bit overpriced, so we expect that, but many have inferior food combined with higher prices, making for a lackluster experience. H3 has given us two very solid, issue free, experiences. We had two filets and a rack of ribs and the filets, being ordered at different temps were perfectly colored inside. The ribs, were straight out of a rib contest. They were perfectly cut and glazed into individual ribs with a roasted ear of corn and an amazing bowl of beans. Now, if you like fall-off-the-bone ribs, this is not your place to get ribs, but if you like amazing flavor and chewing off the bone like corn on the cob, you will be extremely happy with them. You cannot go here without having a Buffalo Butt Beer (amber lager house beer) or a margarita made with one of their infused tequilas.
Our most favorite restaurant. I have been eating there for years before I retired. Would leave Ardmore OK the afternoon before the flight home the next day from DFW so I could eat there. I don't get there that often anymore but seem to work it in once a year while on vacation out west. The staff is great, the live hickory grill is impressive as is the food that comes off of it.
