Gyu-Kaku - White Plains Ratings and Reviews
Gyu-Kaku is a wonderful place to experience something new! The food is amazing and tastes even better knowing that you cooked it yourself! Our Waiter Tony was very helpful with cook time recommendations plus helping us cook and cut certain meats! Please make sure to try this place! I highly recommend it!
I have been to Gyu-Kaku a few times but my most recent experience was by far the best, the energy and atmosphere was fun and inviting. The food and drinks are very afforadable so if you want to enjoy great food and drinks on a budget this place is a go-to, happy hour is all day! So for the most part you will not spend more than $5 on your drink! Great place to truly enjoy your meal and try many new things on the menu without breaking the bank also it is simply a fun experience, it allows you to take your time and enjoy your food since you have to cook it yourself which is very different from most restaurants so basically there is no sending your meat back to the kitchen to be cooked some more since you’re in control. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. Daniel, the manager was very accommodating and easy to talk to, he did every thing he could offer to either correct a mistake or to make your experience at Gyu-Kaku one that you will not forget and one that will make you want to come back, it is clear that it is very important to him that you enjoy your experience. I absolutely recommend this restaurant. As for food and drink recommendations, if you like margaritas, the cherry blossom margarita is by far the best I have ever had and the rainforest is very refreshing. As for food, the garlic rice and noodles are amazing, the avocado salad is light and delicious, the spicy addicting cucumber and is truly addicting and I never thought I would enjoy eating cucumber that much and finally for the meats all are perfectly seasoned and there is no need to add salt or pepper. 10 out of 10 for my experience.
The other time I had an awesome waiter and the food is awesome at a great value so I came back with friends. Unfortunately the waiter servicg us this time was not having his greatest day... slow, not very friendly so that took quite a toll on the overall experience.
The food was very good though and still a great value.
Will go there again but will refuse to be served by this guy again.
The food was excellent. The server could've been more attentive to beverage details since the appetizers came out before the drinks. Refills weren't attended to with satisfactory service, and my specifications for a birthday dessert which I asked in my instructions to Open Table weren't addressed. I even pointed behind my friend to let the waiter know to bring him birthday dessert, and that was not paid attention to. I was not in the position from where I was sitting to notify without being obvious. Overall, the food outweighed all the shortfalls.
We went to this restaurant to celebrate my wife's birthday, me my wife and our 4 year old son. We ordered all you can eat $40 per person. We enjoyed the meal and service was good but at the end we were informed by waiter that because my son did not finish his last order of French fries we have to pay for it additionally to the $40 per adult. This totally ruined the experience because We were not informed of this rule when we started eating . This place should do a better job of letting there customers know before they ordered
We walked in they take me and my friend to seat and it was very nice, the waiter was friendly, asking our drinks right away and came back with our drink very quickly. As we sitting down reading our menu people starting to coming in~ it wasn't quiet quiet. But it's not very loud, we enjoyed the whole meal and it's suuuuuper fun to grill on your own , definitely recommend this place for dates and party's ! We had great food &a awesome experience!
Hostess with dreadlocks is dread-full, she was super-rude and had such bad attitude it was startling this person would choose a job in the hospitality industry- we had to speak to the manager but in the time we were waiting for him we heard her berate and/or ignore several other guests - its not a nightclub where your red rope attitude adds to the experience...
Manager was thoughtful, responsive and resolved our problem immediately- we had arrived 15 minutes late driving from Connecticut- and everything went smoothly from there- food is always good, high quality and tasty and a fun interactive concept- our kids love it and its also good value and healthy grilled food
Gyu-Kaku never fails to disappoint. This is my go-to place to bring a friend who's in town. The food is delicious and it's a great way to spend the evening. Their happy hour menu is crazy good. Basically everything (food and drink) is half off and it lasts for about 5 hours or so each day, and all day on Mondays.
The Coco Mo is my go to beverage there. It's a coconut mojito and it's everything you could ever hope it would be. Their garlic noodles are addictive, the s'mores are a must, and the harami miso steak is so tasty you'll eat well past feeling full just because it's so good.
They're also doing an all you can eat special right now that is very, very tempting. Highly, highly recommend for just hanging out, a date night, a birthday, or any other special occasion.
