It was great. Got there and got seated right away. Service was great.
Food came out wrong. I have allergies and expressed this twice and it came out with my allergen visible on all food. Took a long time to get food. Half my table ate as others waited. One member never got alcoholic beverage he requested. One meat was all fat and inedible.
The food and service was fine. Super cheap happy hour. But very little space on the table for everything. It was very loud and difficult to hear one another even though it was only a party of 4.
Fiod was excellent, and the service was very good as well. Will definitely be telling all my friends about the unique experience.
Dinner for a family of three, 2 adults 1 child age 11.
Total cost, four Andrews plus tip.
Had a pitcher of beer and smores for dessert, few appetizers and several meat selections.
Best to go during happy hours. White Plains location needs a little face lift and cleaning,
as the place is starting to look a little run down, including the staff education and quality.
I'm counting of the owner and management to care more about customer service.
The staff was absolutely fantastic. My party arrived late and they eventually got is all in. However, my grill didn't work and it took forever to cook thinly slice meats. They finally fixed the issue by seating us at another table. But would have wish that they listened to me earlier.
Love Gyu-Kaku. We have been to two other locations as well one in the city and the other in Toronto, Canada. We had a great time at this particular location and brought two friends to try for the first time. A few things were off like we got chicken in our vegetable garlic noodles which we could not eat since some of us are vegan. They did however bring us the correct one after we mentioned It to our waiter. They also included egg in our SukiYaki fried rice which wasn’t mentioned on the menu. Besides those two things, everything else was delicious and we had a lot of fun especially making s’mores. We will return for sure.
Best Gyu-Kaku for sure! This White plains location is the only one that provides the 'all you can eat' feature in the menu. Great service and delicious food. Parking was a bit far from the restaurant but worth it.
It was good Birthday.
Uninvolved staff, built in hibachi is intrusive, tiny portions of meat. I won't go back.
Very nice place for friend hang-out or family dining . I love here so much. Pretty affortable price with ood quality.
Was pretty disgusted with Gyu Kaku and their management on this visit- which will likely be my last. We had a party of 6 had ordered the super premium menu which includes all meats, sides and dessert. Kids didn't want BBQ, wanted noodles- but waitress said thats fine we will still be charging for them for the menu and their alacarte selections - ok fine, seems a bit petty but ok. They informed us only to order what we plan to eat and not to waste...again makes sense. About 1/2 way through our meal my son slipped on the bench banged his head really hard on the table and hard a big welt and lump and was crying a lot. We had to leave before finishing dinner or dessert. I asked for the bill and the Waitress said policy would be to charge me a penalty for not finishing everything we ordered. She has brought ice to the table for my sons wound and saw he was screaming- but she was insistent- I told her this is terrible emapthy and service and will affect her tip. Later the manager came over- never asked me if my son was OK, but said he reviewed the video and the restaurant had no liability- I never said they did, and that I had insulted the waitress by telling her it would affect her tip. I told him he should be more concerned with the customer versus lecturing me- but he doubled down- said they all work for tips and she was upset. (I had tipped 15% by the way normally tip 20%+ ) I asked him if we wanted to know how my son was feeling and he again said your son was running around and its not our liability- which wasnt at all what I was saying- I hadnt finished dinner, I hadnt eaten dessert, I paid for two kids to eat the set menu who didnt eat it- to then get a penalty applied for waste when I left for a medical reason seemed so off, this place used to be family friendly- now they run a million price based promotions with silly rules and lower quality- not anywhere as good as it used to be- avoid any place that doesnt have empathy for the guest
Loved it my new favorite place to eat
This place used to be very welcoming but they have since gotten too busy and the staff seem over worked. No more friendly vibes and hard to get a table unless you have a reservation
I didn't notice how to get points on the Gyu-kaku app afterwards from the receipt...
Otherwise, decent service and decent food. (though I can point out many of potential improvements)
The food was delicious and our waiter, Gabriel worked hard to accommodate our needs.
I had a party of 8 to celebrate my birthday. We were brought to a side room where it held 2 tables pushed together for a party of 8 plus another table for 2. It was great being in a small room because we felt we didn’t have to watch our noise volume and could truly enjoy ourselves. Only down fall is that it was very warm in the room with the grill going. Other than that the food was great, customer service was excellent. Will DEFINITELY RETURN!!
This is my boyfriend and my favorite restaurant. We’ve only been to the ones in the City prior and were very excited and pleased the one in white plains was just as good. The music was a bit loud however.
Waiter look a little longer getting our drinks and food but later picked up the pace. Nice guy, good service.
Food is delicious! Wish there was more room in the restaurant.
Food was good and service is great. I would go here again.
Great food and service!
This place is usually great but it wasn't as good this time. I think the quality of food went down. The rice tasted like it was cooked the day before and was left in the rice cooker. Toro beef is our favorite but it was super chewy. The server forgot to bring some things for the table.
We ordered all you can eat and they told us we have to pay for whatever we couldn't eat, but what if the food was just simply not good?
We will come back again but we are hoping for the quality to improve.
Had a good meal and found the service attentive and quick- in general this is a winner with kids and grown ups- everything is fresh and hot given its cooked to your liking at the table
I frequently go to this location. The service is excellent and food is always flavorful.
good place for hangout after work, not the best for family with little kids
Bit pricey for what you get but I've had fun meals. We went there twice recently - the first time we ordered a set meal. When the dishes arrived, one was missing and I asked about it. That's when the waiter said, "oh, we're out of that one." While he brought a substitute dish, I wonder if I would've been charged for the missing dish if I hadn't asked.
This place is fantastic - went for a 12 year old's birthday dinner, and had a wonderful evening. Daughter and friend were utterly delighted to cook their own food, were adventurous with tasting things, and the staff made an adorable fuss when our waiter realized it was a kid's birthday (and her friend's a week earlier). Crowns and ice cream and singing for the girls.
We got two of the 'happy hour' specials on a Friday night (around 6pm) that was an amazing amount of food. My only complaint (or what I'd look to add next time) is wanting more veggies. My daughter is more of a veggie eater than mean, so she would have loved to cook more of that.
We will definitely go back again!
Excellent, attentive wait staff. Very good quality ingredients. Excellent value!
We got the all you can eat for a birthday dinner. The food is great, it’s a fun experience, but pretty pricy. The servers are attentive, but tend to try and rush you towards the end of the meal.
The service is terrible, but sometimes it can be good enough. A lot of times, the servers forget to put certain food items in so we have to remind them to bring out everything that we've ordered. Pretty much every single time we've gone over the last few times, the server forgot to put in a food item. They fixed it right away, but it's just something that we always have to keep in mind. And we always have to review the check to make sure that we've been charged correctly because there have been times where they completely didn't bring something and charged us anyway. So that needs to be fixed. We've also been given those little peel coupons and there's been issues when we actually use them. So I don't bother using them anymore because it doesn't seem like the staff is trained to actually accept them even though we're using them in compliance with all the rules. Otherwise, the service has improved since they first started opening but it's still really bad.
Excellent happy hour! The service is getting much better than before! Highly recommended!
My family went here for my husbands birthday dinner. The atmosphere was nice and the staff and food was even better. I would highly recommend to others...and I have already done so. Will be back soon.
Gyu-Kaku has a very nice ambiance and is a fun place to go to if you’re looking to try something new.
It was my first time and we went to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The food was absolutely delicious and our group was able to chat and enjoy our meals. Would highly recommend.
The food was very good, it’s the best barbecue we’ve been around Westchester
I love Gyu Kaku and for years went to the Astor Place location. At first, they had amazing servers like Caroline but they all left and the new servers were not as friendly or attentive. I recently discovered the White Plains location and it quickly became my favorite location all because of Jean. Jean was my very first server there and I return to this Location instead of Astor because of her. She is kind, efficient, intelligent, attentive and they are lucky to have her. She found my missing scarf and remembers my orders. Lol! I also love the music there. The place has a great energy. I have had other servers and have nothing to complain about but Jean is the best!
