Waiter look a little longer getting our drinks and food but later picked up the pace. Nice guy, good service.
Food was good and service is great. I would go here again.
Great food and service!
This place is usually great but it wasn't as good this time. I think the quality of food went down. The rice tasted like it was cooked the day before and was left in the rice cooker. Toro beef is our favorite but it was super chewy. The server forgot to bring some things for the table.
We ordered all you can eat and they told us we have to pay for whatever we couldn't eat, but what if the food was just simply not good?
We will come back again but we are hoping for the quality to improve.
Had a good meal and found the service attentive and quick- in general this is a winner with kids and grown ups- everything is fresh and hot given its cooked to your liking at the table
I frequently go to this location. The service is excellent and food is always flavorful.
good place for hangout after work, not the best for family with little kids
Bit pricey for what you get but I've had fun meals. We went there twice recently - the first time we ordered a set meal. When the dishes arrived, one was missing and I asked about it. That's when the waiter said, "oh, we're out of that one." While he brought a substitute dish, I wonder if I would've been charged for the missing dish if I hadn't asked.
This place is fantastic - went for a 12 year old's birthday dinner, and had a wonderful evening. Daughter and friend were utterly delighted to cook their own food, were adventurous with tasting things, and the staff made an adorable fuss when our waiter realized it was a kid's birthday (and her friend's a week earlier). Crowns and ice cream and singing for the girls.
We got two of the 'happy hour' specials on a Friday night (around 6pm) that was an amazing amount of food. My only complaint (or what I'd look to add next time) is wanting more veggies. My daughter is more of a veggie eater than mean, so she would have loved to cook more of that.
We will definitely go back again!
Excellent, attentive wait staff. Very good quality ingredients. Excellent value!
We got the all you can eat for a birthday dinner. The food is great, it’s a fun experience, but pretty pricy. The servers are attentive, but tend to try and rush you towards the end of the meal.
The service is terrible, but sometimes it can be good enough. A lot of times, the servers forget to put certain food items in so we have to remind them to bring out everything that we've ordered. Pretty much every single time we've gone over the last few times, the server forgot to put in a food item. They fixed it right away, but it's just something that we always have to keep in mind. And we always have to review the check to make sure that we've been charged correctly because there have been times where they completely didn't bring something and charged us anyway. So that needs to be fixed. We've also been given those little peel coupons and there's been issues when we actually use them. So I don't bother using them anymore because it doesn't seem like the staff is trained to actually accept them even though we're using them in compliance with all the rules. Otherwise, the service has improved since they first started opening but it's still really bad.
Excellent happy hour! The service is getting much better than before! Highly recommended!
My family went here for my husbands birthday dinner. The atmosphere was nice and the staff and food was even better. I would highly recommend to others...and I have already done so. Will be back soon.
Gyu-Kaku has a very nice ambiance and is a fun place to go to if you’re looking to try something new.
It was my first time and we went to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The food was absolutely delicious and our group was able to chat and enjoy our meals. Would highly recommend.
The food was very good, it’s the best barbecue we’ve been around Westchester
I love Gyu Kaku and for years went to the Astor Place location. At first, they had amazing servers like Caroline but they all left and the new servers were not as friendly or attentive. I recently discovered the White Plains location and it quickly became my favorite location all because of Jean. Jean was my very first server there and I return to this Location instead of Astor because of her. She is kind, efficient, intelligent, attentive and they are lucky to have her. She found my missing scarf and remembers my orders. Lol! I also love the music there. The place has a great energy. I have had other servers and have nothing to complain about but Jean is the best!
Loved the restaurant! Only reason I gave it 4 stars was due to the fact that the bathroom was pretty narrow for a single person room and it was filthy.
It took a while for me to understand the concept. But it was fun, something to do and if you are w/your significant other, you have your own privacy. This was a great find by my boyfriend. I’ve already recommended the restaurant to my coworker. The trip from the Bronx was worth it
This is my second visit and I enjoyed it just as much as the first, will definitely be back.
The food was tasteless. The noodles were dry and cold. They Did not have any taste or enough food for two people. It has been disappointing lately.
The food was well seasoned. I really did not use the available sauces as the food tasted good the way it was marinated. All members of the group enjoyed the meal and said that we would return to this restaurant.
Okay the food is good but the first thing to note is it was LOUD. Usually we're seated in the booth areas which have a bit of a buffer. We were in the back and there were two other parties that were literally parties (and loud.) My suggestion is to not go with a group over four and request a booth. The back tables also have one grill in the middle which is unreachable by people at the ends: people in the middle have to do all the cooking. One last caution, there's this huge box (presumably covering the gas line) in these back tables. They really shouldn't expect anyone to sit over it; you're forced to put your feet on either side of a massive wooden box now between your legs. Not acceptable seating. Disappointing this round.
The service was good, however the food was a little slow coming out since there’s a time limit.
Everyones food came at different times(their suppose to come out all around the same time). So we all couldnt really eat together. The waiter in the begining asked if we were doing "separate items", we said "yes its seperate", so we were under the inpression that she knew to give us seperate checks. The waiter ended up combining all of the checks and told us we should have told her in the beginning. My group had to take time out of our night figuring out which amount belongs to who. It was extremely frustrating. My group loves gyu kaku but over time we all notice a drastic change at the white plains location and i think will go to a different location instead.
Thank you for your time.
Es muy bueno el restaurante lo unico fue que fui con un grupo de 6 persona y notenian el 75%de la comida osea no habia nada por el manager no havia oldenado suficiente comida😒
60% of the menu were out when we last visited. Staff was demoralized as they got yelled at all day for not having food. One staff told us the corporate office mismanages food supply often and put them in a bad spot. Staff turnover is high and I will likely visit other restaurants in the meantime.
The food is excellent. If you're hungry I would recommend getting the unlimited option that they have available.
Meats are too sweet.
Can't taste natural flavor.
Muy buen servicio y la comida muy rica los trago tambien👍🏻
A lot quieter than the one we went to in East Village, NY. Same great food, awesome service.
Gyu-Kaku is a wonderful place to experience something new! The food is amazing and tastes even better knowing that you cooked it yourself! Our Waiter Tony was very helpful with cook time recommendations plus helping us cook and cut certain meats! Please make sure to try this place! I highly recommend it!
Food was great. Only thing I didn't like was the decor. Very outdated and not friendly as you can't see anyone else. But overal experience was amazing
Service wasn't that good. Food was ok.
Good food and good service. Drinks are happy hour prices!! No complaints
