Gypsy Saloon Ratings and Reviews
Usually this place is great on everything but Saturday was a little off. Our food was missing key ingredients that were advertised on the menu, and we were left sitting there for long periods of time without being checked on which made for a 2+ hour visit. The server and owner/manager that served us were very nice and personable, just could have been more attentive. The place was crowded with a large party so they probably could have done with one more server. Still love the place and will come back.
We always enjoy our meals at Gypsy Saloon. i had the burger, well done with blue cheese. it was so delicious !! the Sweet potatoes are awesome !!! Our waitress, Sherry, is always so attentive to us and nothing is too much trouble. WE'll be definitely going back again soon !!
Everything was great, but would love to see more vegetarian options so I didn't have to ask for something and then request to remove a lot of the ingredients. And at that point, you're still paying the same price if you kept the meat and eggs on. The ambience is cozy, and the menu is very unique (in a good way), just meat heavy. Highly recommend!
When walking in the smell of bleach hit us in the face, but the ambience was nice so we stayed for dinner and drinks. Our server was very nice and welcoming and she had only been working there 3 days. Food was not good. Flatbread was almost burnt on the bottom but we ate it anyway no complaints because we were hungry and ehh, no big deal. Dinner came, shrimp Caesar salad for $18.00 ( kind of steep) lettuce was yellow and looked like it was ready to go bad, dressing was not good at all and the cheese tasted stale. My husbands brie and turkey sandwich had no Brie. We sent back both, and a different Server ( not ours) came the table and repeatedly told me to come into the light to look at the salad to see that it was fresh and that she ate one earlier( which I'm sure she wasn't paying close to $20 for) and that it was good and to come look at it again. She FORCED us to have the sandwich remade also. She was RUDE. I felt SO uncomfortable I couldn't wait to get out of there. This woman was very FAKE. Who confronts a table and tries to force them to keep a brown salad?? Totally rude. For that reason alone I will never go back. If the food sucked but I liked the atmosphere I probably would, but not with a RUDE person like that there. And I'm POSITIVE she is one of the main severs. Lovely.
Great service and food. There was an accident in the area and all electric was knocked out on the block for about an hour. We took our chances & stayed. It turned out just wonderful. We ate outside and the restaurant improvised with the food and service. EXCELLENT all around. Kudos for handling a stressful situation seamlessly.
Absolutely love this little gem in West Conshy. Finally gave it a try for lunch after living down the street for over a year. I loved it so much I went back a second time in the same week with friends for dinner. The servers are all super friendly and attentive and the food is awesome. I highly recommend the lobster mac&cheese!
Have eaten at Gypsy since it first opened. Always consistently excellent meals , we especially enjoy the all you can eat mussel special. Good cocktails (very good martini) and service is always attentive. Parking can be somewhat difficult at times , but we have always found a place nearby.
I love the atmosphere in the gypsy saloon very cool. The service was OK, slightly slow and not super attentive. of the I ordered the breakfast quiche which came in a mini cast iron skillet. It was very burnt on the bottom and tough. I didn't feel the need to complain, however I was surprised when the server came to check on us and saw that I only had eaten about a quarter of it and she didn't ask if everything was OK or why I didn't finish my meal. Maybe it's the server in me but I feel like that's kind of just a given when someone doesn't finish their food. My friend ordered a breakfast wrap and that was delicious, she gave me half of hers. I will probably go back and try again. Thanks!
So let's go with the positives first. Their food is great! We love to go Sunday night for all u can eat mussels. Service though was terrible! Waitress was pleasant enough but we didn't get our first morsel of food for close to an hour! Also, I asked for a splash of wine after my glass which she was happy to oblige but then charged me for a half a glass! That would have been fine had she said that would be the case but I've just never seen that before.
Always love the atmosphere there.
They need to not precut the bread though. It's amazing how fast bread starts to become stale after it's cut.
Great chipwich sandwich for dessert.
Gypsy has been my go-to restaurant for the past 10 years! I recently met friends for dinner and we were all disappointed with the menu. It has been cut in half and none of us could decide on an entree that sounded appealing to us. I will continue to eat lunch there, but will visit another restaurant for dinner.
Frank makes a perfect perfect Manhattan. Service was spot on. Lobster Mac so rich and creamy. Yum! Short rib flatbread was so tasty. But the winner was the pot pie! Just order it. So worth it. They own 4 restaurants. Can't wait to try them all! The bar is pretty high.
