Service is quick and the food is really good! It’s always beautiful sitting on the patio!
Service was slow. It was very loud because of the amount of people. It was very very warm as if the AC was not working.
That was the bad part, the food was excellent! The ambiance was high energy fun
The food was average. I was grossly over-charged ($27) for the whiskey I ordered. It was far too loud to carry on a conversation with a single person. The cream or milk used in and provided to us for our coffee drinks was bad.
Great waitress. Provided lots of delicious suggestions
We had so much fun at Gypsy Kitchen. We had a vegetarian guest with us (usually making tapas difficult to share) and decided to do all vegetarian plates because they sounded so good! That was a surprisingly great choice. Definitely try the roasted cauliflower and quinoa salad and the gintonic on draft.
We have tried to like Gypsy Kitchen, but every time we
Go we are disappointed. The food is at best average. Mostly overstated, potatoes served cold and order issues.
The food was ok the dishes were dirty the drink I had smelled like wet dog and our server was just ok. Sadly disappointed for each person spending 60.00 out of our group of four.
The food was delicious! Patio was perfect spot for dinner and drinks. Will be back!
The food was fair at best. I do not like having to waive down server for service. The most disappointing part of our experience was watching the server over serve the neighboring table too much alcohol when they were obviously drunk already. One drunk girl spilled their drinks and the server brought them another round on the house since the other was spilled. Dumb! They should pay for another round if they were drunk enough to spill, maybe that would give them cause to not drink more. The one girl puked as soon as she got out of the restaurant right in front of the elevator. The manager had to stand guard at the elevator to be sure no patrons stepped into the puke. Gypsy Kitchen is lucky the girl puked outside instead of inside. By the way, we know the girl personally and she was underage. It was sad to watch her mother and sister leave her behind and let the staff walk the girl out of the restaurant. Some mother's day!
We visited Gypsy Kitchen on Mother's Day Sunday and were delighted to find a buoyant atmosphere blending nicely with an upbeat Spanish solo guitarist. The tapas was superb. We had great service from the bar, but somewhere in our enjoyable two hours our meat and cheese platter came out last instead of first. Apparently the kitchen had lost the ticket. The restaurant was heaving but the slip up was quickly fixed and forgivable. We will return.
Mother's Day Brunch for 5.
They ran an unlimited tapas deal for $50 per person. After drinks and tip, it came out to a little over $375. Definitely not worth the price. Expected the restaurant to be busy and it was. Their kitchen was obviously slammed so things were really slow to come out, although our waitress was great and did her best to keep us updated on order status and bring things out as they were ready. Despite her best efforts, the delays definitely affected everyone in our party's view of the dining experience. Four stars for food. Some of the dishes were 5's but some were just 3's. Wasn't blown away by anything but nothing was bad. Ordered a couple dishes twice. Wrong dish brought out on a couple of occasions, and pretty sure one never came out. Music and vibe were great.
Would recommend checking it out on a normal night but staying away from events like this because experience did not justify the price.
Took the family in Mother’s Day hoping to have as wonderful an experience as we had last year. Not so. Buffet was discontinued and ‘endless ‘ tapas turned out to be two servings in an hour. To their credit they apologized and did not charge us for the meal (hence the value rating) but we were hoping for mom to have a great experience. Disappointed. May try them again given that they did try to make it right.
Mother’s Day my sons first time , he loved it
We have been coming to Gypsy kitchen the last two Mother’s Day because of the buffet that they shared with the southern gentleman next-door. This year someone decided it would be a great idea to not do that anymore and offer a tapas menu only. This was a failure because there was very limited food options and our kids could not find anything on the menu to eat but they were charged for eating. The waitress we had was rude, did not tell us that refills on drinks would be a charge and the food took forever to get to our table off of a preset menu.
Mother’s Day brunch was a nightmare. Slow service, inattentive staff, wrong orders, and food was subpar. To top it off, my pants got hooked on corner of table that had metal sticking out to tear a nice hole. Nothing to eat really for children. Might be good for older children. Sadly a disappointing experience overall.
We went for Mother's day brunch. All the dishes we had were very good. Our favorites were the lamb kafta, garlic shrimp and the crimini mushrooms. The migas, crab croquettes and the steak and egg were also very good. Our server, Kelly, was awesome keeping our drinks full and making sure we had everything we needed. Overall it was a great meal and we'll be back.
The food was unimpressive. Brought my mom to GK for mother’s day brunch. They served small plates (unlimited topaz) for $50. For the price I expected to be impressed but I honestly wasn’t. Had goat, shrimp, flank steak, crab crochets, few side dishes. I’ve had more flavorful dishes at mom and pop places for well under the $100 plus spent at GK. The table was set with dirty dishes and I had a wine stain on my coffee cup which is not palpable here than at a cheaper place. Our service was pleasant and the ambiance was nice. I’d suggest coming here for cocktails and the vibe. Go somewhere else for good food.
We went for Mother’s Day brunch. The food was delicious and the service was also fantastic. The only negative was that they were still prepping menus on the hostess table when we walked in, which slightly took away from the ambience. But overall we had a wonderful meal and would definitely go back!
Everything about Gypsy Kitchen was fabulous!! It will most definitely be a place I revisit again and again!!
This was our first time and we absolutely loved it. The host accommodated us when we wanted to switch tables to the covered patio - which was much appreciated. Mariah was our server and was fantastic! She had her hands full with a very large very loud table and still gave us excellent service. Love the atmosphere and the food. We look forward to coming back.
Gypsy Kitchen was a great place for dinner! I highly recommend it when you have a big party or group of friends. If small plates aren’t your thing or you are looking for a lot of food you may want to avoid. Noise level is a little high but overall it’s a fun experience
It was our 2 year anniversary but the restaurant didn’t really make an effort to make it special, and it was extremely loud. In multiple instances, servers mistook dishes and their designated tables.
The atmosphere was fantastic and they have a very lively bar and rooftop seating. However, the food was terrible!! Literally everything we ordered was bad- the tapas either came out with so much soggy sauce like soup or they were extremely dry and bland and that comes at a price of $8-15 per tapa. We were so disappointed with each and everything. This was my second visit- the first time was over two years ago or so when they were newly opened and it was a very different experience. Do not take anyone picky here as they will hate it. This is more of a “grab a drink at the bar” then leave elsewhere for dinner place.
Outdoor patio is awesome. Can be loud at times with ATL sirens, but great views. Service and atmosphere were outstanding! Food was mediocre at best.
Water glasses smelled like wet dog. Food was not worth the price. Waitress barely provided service then proceeded to spill water on me and spilled food down my back when she picked up the plates we were finished with. Thought it was supposed to be a nice place. VERY disappointed.
good times, although the waitress said there were no gluten free options even though i called ahead of time and confirmed that there were
We happened to go on a day when it was Cinco de Mayo and the Kentucky Derby happening at the same time. It took ten minutes after sitting us down for us to find out who our server was and our drinks came after our food came to the table which is a big no-no. Don't get me wrong, the food was amazing. Just the service sucked.
When we came in on Friday evening, the restaurant was packed, which was understandable. Since we have made a reservation, we were seated within a minute or two. The food was really good in general, we especially liked the octopus, the lamb kefta, and the mediterranean salad. However, the duck al pastor was very underwhelming, it tasted very bland. The service was not great either. Our waitress was difficult to find and even the couple next to our table complained and left the premises without ordering anything.
I celebrated my birthday with a group of my girlfriends and overall we had a wonderful experience. The drinks and food was delicious, the staff was on point. I especially like the ambience and music. I would definitely recommend Gypsy Kitchen to others. Can't wait to go back.
A wonderful experience from start to finish. Celebrated my friends 50th birthday.
They were busy but there were No delays in food or drinks thanks to very attentive and friendly staff. They surprised us with a Champagne bottle for a birthday toast on the house. The Manager came by to make sure we were being taken care of well.
I had been waiting to try this place out for over 6 months . Totally worth it. Everyone in the group has planned to come back here again.
It was great! The food was very tasty and the staff so nice.
When we walked in I walked up to confirm my reservation and it was like I was invisible and the host looked directly behind me to confirm the next person's reservation. I was expecting a better experience. It was very loud, it took forever to get a server to wait us, and our drinks took a long time to come out. I also asked for a special request and it never happened.
Gypsy Kitchen is certainly the place to be seen these days. This was my first visit here and I'd surely go back. I actually found the selections very affordable and not over-the-top expensive. We had a party of four, shared a carafe of sangria, got the medium charcuterie board, and ordered several tapas (the garlic shrimp was extremely good). All that came to $160, so $40/person was reasonable IMO.
This was a Saturday night, so it was quite 'energetic' and a hip scene. I'd be curious to know what the energy level is like on a weeknight.
My compliments to the staff and the chef... a very pleasant experience.
The food and the service was terrible. I ordered a salad and everyone at the table thought it was way to salty. The octopus was so overcooked we couldn't even eat it. And I saw my server at most twice during my 2 and a half hours there.
I had a date night with my wife and the experience was amazing! Food was delicious and crowd was energetic! Will come back
Always have loved gypsy kitchen and Avery helped make the night more enjoyable!
We had a reservation and still had to wait for 30 minutes. The bar was very backed up and it seemed like they were understaffed. It was Easter Sunday, so I do understand! We love coming here and will definitely be back.
This place has gotten worse every time we've been there. Easter Sunday and they were short staffed with only a new bartender behind the bar. Server was doing best she could, but management missed the mark, and has in the past was well. We had reservations, however had to wait an additional 45 mins to be seated. I think it's a better hangout for a drink at the bar, but not so much for a dinner with friends and family.
Atmosphere was fabulous! Food was not!
Always a great hotspot!! Love the food and drinks. Get the one with rose petals.
