Gwyn's High Alpine
Great food with a spectacular view. A family run restaurant that has been a Snowmass institution for many years. Always worth getting up on the mountain early to have an amazing breakfast or take off your ski boots and enjoy a leisurely lunch. The staff is wonderful and the food is always superb.
We had a great time! Thank you
Everything was perfect!
OMG I tried Gwyn's Burger today and it was amazing! I usually eat lighter fare when I am there, but after seeing it served to so many others, I decided I had to try it. It was amazing, as we're the fries.... Without a doubt the best place to dine on Snowmass Mountain. Don't miss it!
Gwynn’s has been a Snowmass staple for decades. The seafood puff appetizer is great as well as every fish special I’ve ever eaten there.
Gwyn's is our absolute favorite restaurant in Snowmass! We came this year to make sure we could enjoy it before it closes. The staff are so friendly and remember you year after year. The food is 5 star all the way!!!
We had the BEST time at Gwyn's! Lovely atmosphere, amazing food, and phenomenal service. Thank you!
Our reservation was for 8 people 7 adults 1 child (9 yrs) we sat down and not everyone was given a menu. We asked and they were brought. We then had to ask if there was a child’s menu and then it was brought. We ordered and two of us ordered salads with chicken. We were told no chicken today and the waiter said “I hate when that happens” we thought that we as odd but asked if we could have shrimp and he said yes. Salads arrived with wilted greens and a small bowl of shrimp that were in a reddish sauce, the shrimp were not cleaned (vein still in). For that type of resturant and prices the salads were disappointing. Everything else was just okay. When leaving we heard a waitress telling a table when she handed them the menus that they did not have chicken today due to the avalanche and the truck not being able to deliver. Now that makes sense and is totally understandable.
Excellent lunch at the top of the mountain. What a great location and experience! They have plenty of Crocs available so you can get out of your ski boots and relax. The food was very well prepared and tasty - just what we needed on a snowy ski day! Highly recommended for a special lunch!
Gwyn’s High Alpine is slopeside in Snowmass, CO. White linen experience in skiing gear. The food is spectacular and the service exquisite. We never miss a chance to have lunch at High Alpine when we are skiing. Don’t miss out!
Excellent food and service in wonderful ambiance
I typically dine annually at Gwyn's High Alpine table service restaurant, and several times at the cafeteria side, during ski season. I have always been impressed at the quality of the service and food at both.
Knowing that ownership/management changes are in store for the future, I wanted to share Valentines Day lunch with my wife for a fond lasting memory. Sadly, this was not the case. While the memory will be lasting, it will not be fond. Food was mediocre and service was poor with excessive delay and forgotten wine orders.
Neither the owners nor manager were present during my lunch (1:30 - 3:30) which may have been some of the reason for the terrible service. I cannot speculate on what happened to the quality of the food.
Ultimately, I would have been happier dining on the cafeteria side of the restaurant which I had already visited several times on this trip.
Awesomely fine lunch menu. Service was spectacular. Unbeatable view and ambience.
Have been eating here on our ski vacations for almost 18 years and love e the place.
Most everyone’s meals were excellent
However for the 2nd year in a row the fillet ordered medium well came out raw in the center.
Just not right and it happened 2 years in a row !
Great upscale on mountain ski meal!
Service just ok. Took a long time to be seated and then the service was slow. Food good but not any better than other options.
Fantastic mountain breakfast
Love Gwyn’s! Food is always great and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. What a great excuse for a long lunch, even when the skiing is great.
Excellent Mountain Dinning experience—as it has consistently been for 35 plus years!
great service and outstanding service it will be sad in 2 years time to see the skidoo take over and ruin it
We enjoyed a good meal, we made a good choice, the kitchen was excellent and so we had a very good time! Next season again.
It was a top-notch meal, service, and experience! The new building is gorgeous and the view couldn't be better!
Superb food, excellent service, a breathtaking setting- what could be better?
Food was outstanding! Table was ready and waiting. It was a beautiful, sunny day, view was wonderful through the large windows. Only complaint: service was a bit slow.
As always the service (Patrick) was excellent. The food is always great. Best place to eat on the hill.
Have eaten at Gwyn's four times in the last month. The food is exceptional. One time the service was average, but the other three times is has been great.
Great service, superb 5 star cuisine like perfectly cooked rack of elk, lobster risotto, angus ribeye and great desserts. Dining at nearly 11000 feet with best view of snow capped mountains in the world. Dont forget the excellent wine list, but go easy as will ski back down on blue slopes!
Absolutely careless handling of gluten-free items. This is the third time I've gone to this restaurant and gotten a gluten reaction. Their gluten-free menu is not reliable--the "gluten-free Asian vinaigrette" is not even gluten-free--to their own admission--but it has been on the menu for over a year. It's a great restaurant if you don't have food allergies, which is why I give it 3 stars. 0 stars if you have Celiac.
It's a very special spot that I've enjoyed for 30 years!
I love the feel of this place, relaxed, upscale and casual all at the same time. Staff is always super nice and accommodating. Food is consistently outstanding. And if you like peaches and/or burrata cheese, then this appetizer is a MUST do. We have taken several of our guests there and they have all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Looking forward to next time.
Patrick our waiter was outstanding, hostess was awesome getting us the best table in the house. Food was yummy, had a wonderful experience, can't wait to go back!
There are many lunch options on the four mountains that comprise AspenSnowmass. But only two truly stand out: Cloud Nine at Aspen Highlands and Gwynn’s at Snowmass. The former has a unique, European like ambience and excellent food. Gwynn’s has it all: ambience (sun drenched, roomy yet comfortable and quiet), very high quality food, and truly outstanding service.
I have never been disappointed at Gwyn's and have been dinning here every time I come to Snowmass. The food is spectacular, the service impeccable, and the view beyond belief.
Food and service were excellent
Wanted the French toast I had seen in menu on Open Table profile, but they don’t have it any more. Instead they offered a cinnamon swirl pancake that was similar.
It wasn’t French roast... but it was absolutely delicious and I ate almost all of it!!!!
Do not miss dining here.😊
Always a great experience.
Thank you to the entire crew for making our birthday celebration so special. The Hostess and manager went out of their way to welcome us, and Patrick took excellent care of us with the perfect balance of interesting conversation and menu/wine insights, without being intrusive. This is one of our favorite annual traditions!

The Best in Town! What an expirience.
Chef Pete came out to see us about our comment in Excellent food & service , what an amasing setting
Excellent food, service and location!!!
To mark my daughter's 21st birthday, our family had a memorable breakfast at Gwyn's High Alpine restaurant where we ordered celebratory mimosas! The restaurant is located on the ski slopes of Snowmass in a lovely location. The food is terrific and the service is stellar. Eating there has become a tradition for our family, one that we plan to continue.
