My wife needs to dine gluten free (it's not a "preference") and was in heaven with the exquisite GF soft shell crab. My red snapper was amazing. The service was personal, friendly, and top notch. We come to GW Finn's every time we visit NOLA, and have always had wonderful dining experiences!

Our dinner was delicious. We shared the Lobster Dumplings for an app and then my husband had the Scalibut. I can see why this is their specialty! I had the New Zealand John Dory, which was out of this world.

We went for our anniversary and it was very hard to speak to each other because the restaurant is incredibly loud and we sat so far away from each other that it was difficult to share.

Our server was incredibly slow. At one point, we thought that he left the restaurant. Thank goodness our meal was so tasty. This far outweighed the mediocre service.

As always every dish was prepared with that “finesse” that separates them from the pack!

Excellent fish, wonderful service. The only issue: a bit noisy. I would strongly recommend it.

Was recommended by a friend who lives here. Barbecues shrimp was standard as usual but I was disappointed with the blackened swordfish. Expected more flavor. Bread pudding was excellent. Overall was good but nothing special - particularly for New Orleans. But they must be doing something right because they've been around a long time and it was packed.

I was in town for a business trip. I read great reviews about GW Fins. I was not disappointed. The staff was great and went out of their way to make the meal great. And the meal was GREAT...I had the John Dory on recommendation of the waiter. I think it was the single best meal I have eaten. If you are on the fence about going, I wouldn't hesitate. Reservations are a must or you may not get in.

While visiting New Orleans, our family had several opportunities to experience fine dining in a variety of wonderful restaurants. We all agreed that GW Fins provided the best balance of original food preparation (oysters cooking on the shell at the table for example), portion size, value, and flavours. The biscuits were delicious and we all had seconds. The Scallops and risotto were perfectly prepared (2 items I have often been disappointed in at other restaurants). The dining room was busy (all tables were full) but there was appropriate room between the tables which allowed for good conversation (not too noisy) and easy flow for the servers. The servers were attentive without being annoying and took initiative to refill water glasses and bring more biscuits without us asking as well as offering their opinion on favourite menu items. GW Fins is now on our "must visit" list for our next trip to New Orleans.

Visiting from Kansas City with family. Our server, Stacy, was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in describing some of the traditional New Orleans style dishes. Food was outstanding. Great place for tourists and business people alike!

Exceptionally great food!
Easily the best dining experience in New Orleans! There are a lot of very average restaurants in New Orleans, especially around Bourbon Street. But GW Fins stands out for its food philosophy, the passion and pleasure they take when serving, and for an impressive cocktail and wine menu. Every bit was a pleasure, but the local fish/ fish of the day was extra-ordinary. A couple of hits for us: pork belly starter (ah-mazing!), tuna tartare (so, so good) and crawfish fritters (quite sweet!). You cannot go wrong with anything on this menu.

The lobster dumplings are so delicious. You get 5 dumplings for $10, which is a great value when you think about the time and ingredients that go into the dish. And do not overlook the white chocolate bread pudding. It's to die for!!! And Nick, our waiter, was awesome too.

It was out second time at GW Finns which has become our favorite place to dine in Nola. It is difficult not to order there signature scalibut dish as 3 of our 5 diners did. The John Dory and the American red snapper dishes were also phenomenal. Service was outstanding as usual and we concluded with a salted camel pretzel decadent ice ream dessert..YUMMMM. This should be forever banned. fantastic meal as always....We will be back!

Clearly a gem of NOLA. The place has high ratings, we ran into a local who said it was her favorite, and we were not disappointed. The food was amazing.

We sat at the bar, so we didn’t get the full experience with the wait staff, but the bartenders were very attentive and helpful. Thank you.

Outstanding in every regard!
We can't recommend GW Fins highly enough. The menu is extensive and the preparations perfect. An great wine list with most available by the glass. Outstanding, personal service.
A gorgeous room.

On our recent trip to New Orleans we dined at five, very-well reviewed restaurants. GW Fins stood head and shoulders above any of the others. Would that we lived closer. This is among our Top Five world-wide. You can pay a lot more and receive a lot less elsewhere.

We loved our meal at GW Fins. The meal is started with some of the most delicious, warm biscuits. You won't be able to eat just one. I ordered their signature dish, Scalibut, which is a unique and delicious combo of scallops and halibut over lobster risotto. An excellent choice. My wife loved the grilled redfish. Finish the meal with the bread pudding. It has a wonderful flavor and almost custard like consistency. Our service was fantastic, too!

We have been to Michelin starred restaurants, this restaurant is a fair competitor in service and in food. Each persons dish was amazing from the bluefin tuna, and Cubio to the redfish. Every aspect of this dinner was amazing and I would recommend it to everyone. If we ever get back to New Orleans, we will be back.
