Second dinner visit within two weeks to our favorite New Orleans restaurant for a belated birthday celebration. Our server Ashley was terrific and her recommendations for food and wine were spot on. On her suggestion, I do highly recommend the BBQ Shrimp appetizer (already peeled in a sumptuous sauce - this dish is NOT messy like the traditional “with heads my wife had a huge excellently prepared Softshell Crab, delicious! Also, on their craft cocktail list, for a slight twist on the traditional Negroni recipe, I had “The Bienville” (up Martini style), ingredients of Maker’s Mark, sweet vermouth, and Peychaud’s Apertivo - excellent! Thank you GW Fins for another memorable evening.
I’m so glad this was our first real restaurant experience since restaurants have reopened! The food was spectacular, from the Fins Wings to the Scalibut, and the best bread pudding in the city! Their MW-tini cocktail is also exceptional. Amazing service, with the friendliest staff!
From the moment I walked in I knew this was going to be a special treat. The service was impeccable the food was absolutely delicious and exceptional. The lobster Raviolis and the barbecue shrimp appetizers are delicious. The short rib was fall off the bone tender and delicious and the parmesan crusted fish was excellent. GW Fins should not be missed on your next trip to New Orleans.
I can't say how much I enjoyed this meal enough. Food was perfect and service was perfect. GW Fins is one of the best places in town, and they really showed it with the experience they provided for my party.

I love coming here because they are very consistence with their quality of food, excellent service and the delicious BISCUITS! This truly is our favorite Nola restaurant.

GWFins handled the COVID-19 issues well without being overbearing on the diners. Tables were well spaced, servers were masked, and I felt they did great.
This is my and the hubby's favorite restaurant in NOLA. After moving back earlier this month and during yh we weird Covid-19 times, it was just as we remembered. The perfect first meal back out.
I had a very happy birthday celebration at GW fins. I felt very comfortable enjoying a delicious dinner. All employees wore masks and all diners wore masks if they were not sitting at the table. It could not have been better.
SPECTACULAR ON EVERY LEVEL AND EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS especially given this crazy time we’re in. Made it feel as normal and seem less and possible. Masks made it kinda hard to hear server at times but it is what it is

The best ingredient contacts in the business give the kitchen a leg up even before their culinary skills kick in. Fab recipes and brilliant execution. A wine list with good depth, variety and quality, all with price-point in mind. So good wine value, though a somm is missing. Wait staff is trained and executes -- to Commander's standards. Not a left-handed compliment! Many veteran servers and support staff. You can remember names.

First time since close down because of covid. Food was delicious. Restaurant was clean and doing all of the correct processes to protect spread.

Last night compliance with New Orleans rules for reopening was perfect. Of course it is odd with only 25% capacity in a restaurant that is always packed.
Happy that long term staff could come back. Those that took care of us were truly grateful.

We are locals and longtime customers and we were elated to dine again in the fabulous GW Fins following their COVID-19 reopening of the dining room. Owner Gary Wollerman is the preeminent New Orleans restauranteur, in my opinion, always onsite working the front of the house, ably assisted by his family and staff, and he is a resilient businessman, surviving through 9/11, Katrina, and COVID-19. His leadership of staff was evident by a fully-staffed restaurant; and, we are inspired by his community involvement. Oh, the food and libations are great, always fresh, and the menu changes daily to showcase their best offerings of each day. Our appetizer favorites were the Tuna Tar Tar and Lobster dumplings; entrees were Louisiana Grouper (over a shrimp creole rice and sauce) and Pecan-crusted fish with asparagus. We finished with succulent chocolate mouse and creme brulee desserts. Lastly, our tip of the hat to the bartender for very cold Martini and Manhattan cocktails and to server Ghost G and backwaiters for friendly and fast service. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Second day open after lockdown and it’s like the restaurant never missed a beat!!
I have to say GW was absolutely delicious, from the tuna tacos, crawfish fritters, gumbo, Scalibut to the Rigatoni all was fresh, hot and delicious. Thank you for one of the best meals.
