Beautiful restaurant with fresh ingredients and great service.
We had a wonderful experience. Anthony took great care of us and the food was amazing. We started with the tuna tartare and the lobster dumplings and both were delicious. I wish I had more time in New Orleans just so I could go back and try some different dishes.
Superb. Highly recommended
Whenever we mentioned that we had reservations at GW's everyone was like, yeah their good. We were not disappointed at all. The lobster dumplings were amazing as well as the Scalibut (halibut with a crust of sea scallops. The service was outstanding. One of our new favorites.
It was a great experience.
Great place for a nice high quality meal in the French Quarter.
A fantastic meal with excellent service!
Excellent service, tasty good food, Great Evening !
Excellent meal as always. We were seated in the main area rather than the back room. The lobster dumplings, Parmesan crusted sheepshead, and creme brulee were delicious. We are also big fans of the biscuits.
Very busy, popular restaurant, good food, very good service, would go back for the atmosphere and the service
The best food!!
4 nights in NOLA and this was by far our favorite restaurant. Staff was wonderful, food superb, and the desserts to die for! Make sure to make a reservation. We will be back!
The food and service were outstanding. I recommend to anyone in New Orleans.
Pleasant meal, except for an abrasive hostess who wanted us to wait even though we had an early reservation. Otherwise, service impeccable and food quite good. Excellent chocolate martini for dessert!
The food was superb! The service was excellent - Torial is a very attentive and excellent server! It was quite noisy - a bit tough for a nice date night! Would return when next in New Orleans!
My second visit and it was just as enjoyable as the first. We were seated minutes after arriving for our reservations which are recommended. The dishes we had were very very good. I tried the tuna tartare for starters and it was unique and quite tasty. My main dish was the grouper and it was just as delicious. My companion had the grilled oysters as her starter and then chose the red snapper which she said was outstanding. We finished with her getting the strawberry/coconut sorbet and me with the creme brulee. Service was prompt and friendly by the entire front of the house staff. Great dining experience. Can't wait for my next visit!!
We had a lovely meal. Our server Toriah helped to make our experience more memorable. She suggested the Tempura Fin Wings which were out of this world.
Our dining experience at GW Fins was outstanding.
The food was very tasty and prepared perfectly. We had salmon and blackened swordfish. I would recommend either of these choices. We enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant. The restaurant was very busy, but the service was still excellent! I would definitely recommend this restaurant for good food and a very memorable dining experience in the French Quarter!!
Excellent Food. It was the best we had in 3 nights at different restaurants. Will return on our next visit to New Orleans.
Fabulous food — impeccable service
After having the best dining experience, I have put GW Fins at the top of my list of go to restaurants in New Orleans.
Definitely the best dining experience we had while in New Orleans. Although only a half block off of the pit of Bourbon Street, GW Fins is fine dining (with a moderate dress code). I was concerned because of its location so close to Bourbon Street however such concern was completely unwarranted. The fish offerings were extensive and the four of us all had excellent meals. Don't miss eating here.
Reunion with my college roommate. Recommended by several friends. Did not disappoint. Friendly host, amazing waiter, Phelix, (knowledgeable and personable) and outstanding food. Favorite dining experience during our stay.
We were on vacation in New Orleans. We had been to GW Fins in 2001 when they first opened. We were so impressed with our first visit we had to go back. They did not disappoint. The food was delicious. When we arrived I mentioned to the hostess that we had been there before, she immediately told me she would have Gary the owner stop by our table. He made us feel as if we were old friends. I later found out the hostess is his wife. They are a wonderful couple and have a first class restaurant.
This is one of our go-to places when we visit New Orleans. We actually enjoyed it so much we returned the next night so everyone could try a new dish. We began the meal with a couple stand out choices: tuna tacos, tuna tower, and ravioli. All three hit the spot and revisited the tuna tacos the next night and tried out their fresh, new add: BBQ oysters. Simply amazing. The Sheepshead, both tuna dishes, and the scallibut were all incredible as well. Our only disappointment was the roll served when we sat down. It was not nearly as buttery and delicious as when we first visited a couple years ago. It might have been a blessing in disguise so we did not fill up on those and had room for the incredible bread pudding dessert!
GW Fins is always a must when in NOLA. even if you are not there for the livelihood of the quarter, take in a meal at GW Fins.
Best meal we have ever had!! Service and food were exceptional.
The evening was a wonderful success. Was a birthday dinner and the restaurant was prepared with confetti and a special menu. The food was delicious. And the service was excellent
Great I don’t want to write bbb bbnnnxxcccccccccccccccccc
Dinner with my daughter !!
Our waiter Ryan C. Was very nice and his whole team was very attentive. They helped to make it a very nice night!
Our observation is everything will be good. We enjoyed the swordfish and salmon . Both dishes had great detail. The salads were made by someone who eats salad. The drinks were perfect. The decor, with multiple level seating was elegant. But, the service was even better.
Two details I enjoyed. Our server did not need to write any of our order down. He called us by name during the dinner, before I handed him the credit card.
GW Finns helped us have a great last day of vacation in New Orleans.
Absolutely outstanding at every level
Service and decor was top-notch. The food was of high quality and served perfectly, but portions could be slightly larger. The staff was very polite, attentive, and went the extra step to make our celebration special. Location is just off Bourbon, so the walk to and from doesn't match the experience this restaurant is aiming for. Once inside, GW Fins provides an escape from reality with its great staff and delicious food. Thank you for a special evening.
How sad that the jewels are falling off the crown of this once spectacular restaurant.
I have dined with GW Fins at least a half dozen times over many years of visiting New Orleans. I always think of it as offering outstanding flavors and impeccable service. I'm afraid that was not our experience during the Sunday of the French Quarter Festival 2019.
We always start our meal with their 2 famous appetizers, the lobster dumplings and their sizzling oysters. Neither one of these brought back the memories I had cherished and both dishes left us wanting. We would also normally order their famous chocolate dessert when placing our appetizer order as it takes over 1/2 hour to make. Much to our disappointment the waiter informed us they no longer offer this signature dessert. Speaking of waiters, I was feeling guilty for dropping biscuit crumbs all over our table but kept thinking soon I'll see the waiter appear with one of those neat crumb tools to sweep them away. That never happened. Our waiter also, inexplicably, took away my wife's empty wine glass and never offered her another glass - which she would have happily ordered. I also ran out of water. Our entrees were good and we enjoyed their bread pudding for dessert, but walked out the door deciding to broadening our horizons and next time in New Orleans try another one of the city's world famous restaurants.
Brought friends to our favorite NOLA restaurant and we were not disappointed. This is on our must do list every time we are visiting, and it is always outstanding. The food was fabulous, as always; the restaurant is lovely and comfortable; the service is friendly and helpful. What more could you ask for. We will always get the smoky roasted oysters when we visit - they are just the best!!!
Food was delicious. Best seafood ever! Tuna was amazing.
Superb service and food!!!
Once again G.W. Fins provided a fabulous fine dining experience. Our waiter was very helpful in explaining the specials and suggesting options. The star of all our visits is the smoked oyster appetizer. 6 plump, perfectly "smoked" oysters sizzling are to die for. Our Sheepshead and Drum entres were perfectly cooked and served with appetizing side dishes. Service was attentive but not hovering. A totally enjoyable meal.
Wonderful find in New Orleans. Kind and attentive staff, great drinks and amazing food.
Awesome! Would definitely go back!
