A special thank you to Ashley who made our Anniversary dinner amazing. Great wine recommendation and great service. Thank you to all the servers and management who wished us a happy anniversary.
From the bread to the coffee everything is excellent if your not sure of the dish just try it anyway as the food is fantastic the Scslibut is divine as is the dessert choice ☺☺☺☺☺
Delicious and great service!!! I went for my Birthday and was treated like a Queen!! Will definitely be back for the delicious food. I wanted to try everything on the menu. The white chocolate bread pudding will definitely be ordered on my next trip again.
The best dinner in a long time. Service was delightful and the food delicious, innovative and fabulous
Great seafood. Swordfiah and scallops were outstanding. Love the lobster dumpling.
It was our anniversary and they got us an special table ready with a bit of confetti with a printed menu with our names on it
The experience was amazing, the food and service outstanding and the price very reasonable
I will come back
The 2018 Lobster Fest offered a delicious lobster bisque, lobster dumplings and seafood stew with a steamed lobster. The flavors were fresh and rich. Outstanding service.
We went for the lobster fest. Great food and as always good service
We have dined many times in the past few years at GW Fins and it is always consistently good. We had a few glitches this visit but the staff went out of their way to make things right. The worst was that my husband received a water glass that had lipstick on the rim. It was quickly whisked away when pointed out. I had two glasses of the same wine that tasted totally different. When I brought it to my server's attention, she took back the second glass & watched the bartender pour it. It still was the same but tasted totally different than the initial glass. The server said it was probably due to the fact that it was a new bottle. So I was left to believe that the first glass of an expensive wine was from an old bottle. I feel that I did not get what I ordered to begin with & my bill should have been adjusted. Our entrees were very good as well as dessert. We would still return even with our service issues as we felt our wait staff tried to make things right.
Always great. Love the drop biscuits as everyone does. We split the lobster dumplings and each liked them. I had the drum which was coated in chicken cracklings. Excellent but a bit rich. My husband had the Parmesan coated sheepshead which was fabulous. We had to split a dessert due to the richness and size of the entrees but the bread pudding and coffee was a perfect ending. Great team service and the side room was very pleasant.
Best meal and service in New Orleans!!! Everything was perfect!
Waiter was excellent, although food was delivered very fast after ordering — minimal time to enjoy wine and time between courses. Meal felt rushed. Fast on the food, but slow with cocktails and coffee.
This restaurant was outstanding! We went for "Lobster Fest," which was divine & delicious! I have been coming to Nola for many many years & have been to restaurants all over the city but GW FINS is definitely at the very top of the list!!! Loved the wonderful service & the biscuit man was amazing!!!
Great atmosphere and amazing food! The head chef stopped by the table to check on us and it was a great added gesture. I will definitely be back next time I’m in New Orleans and would highly recommend this establishment to friends who visit.
Great atmosphere and great food! I will definitely be going back next time I’m in New Orleans!
Food was fantastic here. I had the Tuna Tartare and the scallops. Very good.
My favorite restaurant in New Orleans came through again. The lobster dumplings are to die for. The dishes are wonderful and the service is friendly and efficient. A special house dish called "scalibut", halibut with scallops, was deemed delicious by my friends. A wonderful restaurant.
What a great night. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. The service was great and the food was amazing. The fish was fresh and the staff was there to assist with every need. The bread pudding was delicious and the atmosphere was romantic for a date night. Would love to go back. Must try !
OUTSTANDING! Delicious food , went with party of 4, each entree great, impeccable service , and great ambiance. My halibut was the best I ever tasted! Menu changes daily .
First time I came to GW Fins was back in March for our Anniversary dinner. It was outstanding. Now I came back this week on business trip and had to revisit the restaurant. It did not disappoint. When I come back to NOLA I will always visit this restaurant.
Food and service were excellent. We especially loved the bbq shrimp and seared scallops.
I took my wife here for our 20th anniversary and we were not disappointed. Great food and atmosphere. Special touch with the personalized menu with our names and anniversary.
Jason and his service team were attentive without being intrusive. My wife and I wanted softshell crab, but as presented on the menu, it was paired with country ham, which did not interest us. Jason suggested replacing the ham with shrimp creole, which turned out great. The crab was large, flavored with a wonderful array of spices and fried to perfection. There was no hint of oil residue on the plate and it was served hot. We had lobster rolls for an appetizer. The small rolls were served in a butter sauce that had a subtle delicious taste. Fins has a large young professional clientele with an energy level and volume to match.
Creative menu that changes daily because they use fresh ingredients. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We will be back!
Overall was a good experience. I do want to compliment the wait staff as they were very attentive and excellent. The food itself was good, but not the best around. While the restaurant itself is very nice inside, the location, right off of Bourbon Street, does not fit with the high end atmosphere they are trying to create. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant, but there are many other delicious choices as well.
Always one of our stops when we are in New Orleans
Scallops were cooked to perfection!! Atmosphere was very pleasant.
Waiter getting lost in space
Not only was the food fantastic but our server (Rod) and the rest of the staff were very accommodating
Excellent all around. Our server was amazing. Great time. Will return again soon.
We stopped there due to a recommendation as we're above satisfied. It was the best meal we had during our trip and we went to many highly recommended restraunts.
A friend and I, both of us foodies, enjoyed a delicious dinner here. Positive aspects were the food: we had the crispy pork belly with watermelon, and the tuna tartare, both were superb. Our fish entrees were also delicious. Less positive aspects were: the apparent lack of a sommelier. We didn't really feel our primary waiter had very detailed wine recommendations. Finally I am compelled to share two rather odd experiences. Two of the younger waitstaff made inappropriate remarks to us (neither were our primary server). First, the man who brought our dessert said "everyone needs a little something sweet before bed; it could be this or me." Second, one of the waiters who checked in several times with us seemed very friendly and we exchanged some small talk about places we liked to enjoy live music. He said we should go to a certain club that he frequented. We thought nothing of it, but near the end of our dinner he came by again and suggested we "exchange information so we could meet up" later that night. We declined, and after the initial shock wore off, realized he took us for cougars in search of male company, or possibly cougars in search of bought and paid for male company. Whatever the reason, it surpassed the line of harmless flirtation and put a little of a blight on the evening. We couldn't help wondering whether there was widespread "entrepreneurial activities" going on behind the scenes in this otherwise posh restaurant.
My dinner date and I had an excellent meal at GW Fins after the Saints game last week. We got there pretty early and the dining room was about half full and full by the time we left. It's such a lovely restaurant with wonderful service.
We shared the lobster dumplings and the lobster Carbonara since it's Lobster Feast time. Both were rich and delicious. I haven't stopped thinking about the Carbonara since dinner. For entrees I had the pompano and my date had the redfish. We both thoroughly enjoyed our dinners. We also shared a nice bottle of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir and a bread pudding for dessert. Overall, it was a wonderful meal.
Great seafood, great service, lovely atmosphere, a quiet refuge just off Bourbon St. My wife and I visited NOLA for a day before heading off to explore the Gulf Coast. When in the gulf, get seafood, right? After researching online, we decided to try GW Fin. We took the opportunity to walk the mile from Le Richeleau hotel down Bourbon St. After nearly a mile of the sights and smells of that stretch, we were hoping it was worth the walk.
We started with the Snapper cevice, which has a Habenero Sorbet atop it. Amazing. We asked the waiter for a recommendation, and he nailed it. I had the Fried Jumbo Softshell crab, which came with spoon bread and a corn relish with red potatoes. Incredible. My wife had their Scallibut, which is Halibut, with thin slices of scallops layered on it. They then sear both sides, and serve it over Lobster Risotto. This is their signature dish, and it lives up to the billing.
Just go there and ask your waiter what is good today, like we did. You will leave happy....
Waiter took a long time to come around and take our order. Ive ordered 2 sweet potatoes and they were different colors and flavors. I think the foods were over priced for an average entree.
Excellent food and service, this is the best fine dining in the French quarter area.
Wonderfully surprised with the restaurant over all. Just beautiful inside, great ambiance. They place the napkin on your lap. I knew it was top notch. Food was amazing as well as the wine list. Surprisingly the prices were really good. Highly recommend.
My wife and I, along with another couple, had a great dining experience here on a Saturday night. We had 8:15 reservations but due to some traffic we arrived 5 minutes late. That didn't matter as we were promptly escorted to our table. Our waitress was pretty good but we noticed the table that was below us had an amazing server. We probably learned more about the menu eavesdropping than from our own server. To her defense it was kind of loud and she couldn't quite speak louder enough.
The service from the gentlemen filling waters and delivering the homemade biscuits was outstanding. The menu made it hard to chose what meal to get but I had the scalibut and my wife had the nocchi. Our dining companions had the pork chop (wow!) and the drum and everybody enjoyed what they ordered. The appetizer was to die for (lobster ravioli) and the bread pudding for dessert was great as well. The cocktails and wine were high quality as well. I'll definitely be back next time I'm in New Orleans.
Fantastic food, fantastic service, just overall fantastic!! Can not wait to go back.
Amazing food! A must eat when in New Orleans! Fish was fresh and delicious. Creative
