Lobster Dumplings OMG!!! Sooooo Gooood!!
Wonderful service and food!!!!!
Drinks. food and service...excellent !! Drove 60 miles to dine and well worth the trip!
While visiting New Orleans, we wanted a nice up scale date night on our 20th anniversary. We have never been to GW Fins and found them by searching for fine dinning in walking distance of our hotel. Making the reservation was easy and when we arrived we were treated like royalty. Service was excellent from all staff. I strongly recommend the lobster dumplings and the parmesan crusted red snapper. Prices are a little high but that is to be expected.
Fabulous - we have eaten around the French quarter all week and this was the absolute winner. Wonderful food!
I had the lobster dumplings then the scalibut - more than yummy. Expertly cooked. He had the belly pork then the local drum. Again excellent.
Great wine list to suit all budgets and the ubiquitous cocktails.
Overall, a great meal at GWFins! We were celebrating our anniversary and they did a great job of recognizing the occasion. We had Lobster Dumplings, which were delicious and Seafood Gumbo, which was one of the best gumbos I have ever had!!!! Split the triple wedge salad...really good! I loved the Scalabut but the Parmesan crusted Redfish wasn’t as tasty. The Biscuits served were delicious....slightly sweet and hot! Service was outstanding! Would definitely recommend for a special occasion in New Orleans!!
Reserved table for anniversary dinner. Food was incredible and presented perfect. The staff was knowledgeable and anticipated our needs. We will be back the next time in Nola!! Awesome experience!
Incredible restaurant.... the food is great
Outstanding dining experience with quality product, service and attention to detail.
The Food was excellent. My husband had The Tempura Fin wings for an appetizer. I had a sample of it. It was delicious. I had the Bruleed Fig salad. It was very good. For dinner, I had the Parmesan Crusted Mangrove Snapper. It was Great! My husband had the Scalibut which he enjoyed immensely. We shared a Creme Brûlée for dessert. It was heavenly. The best Creme Brûlée I’ve ever had. It was silky smooth.
It was father's day and we werevin town for a dr visit...its our sons favorite place
Love this place, Food is always great. The staff is fabulous, Our waiter Alan was the best, he
even surprised Eddie with a tiny little dessert and a candle for his Birthday. He was the Best---Thanks Alan. We'll definitely be back soon.
Incredible as always .
Dinner was absolutely amazing. The service was beyond excellent. Had a great time.
Food and drinks were very good. Service was ok, we had someone in our party that could not eat dairy. That seemed to confuse him as to what she could and couldn't eat, and was not as helpful as we would of liked to come up with options of what she could have from the menu. Overall we had a very nice dinner though.
Delish. The scalibut never disappoints. Everything was great.
Food was amazing as always! Service impeccable! Compressed watermelon & pork belly along with lobster dumplings always our favorite.
Loved our dinner ... sever was very accommodating and while I intended to order an appetizer as my main course, she suggested some sides that turned that option into a wonderful full dinner.
Best in NOLA
The dinner was perfect from beginning to end. We started with some creatively crafted cocktails. While the crabcake appetizer was delicious, the lobster ravioli was so beautifully light that it could have floated away. The main courses of sheephead fish, scallops and salmon were expertly prepared and prettily plated. We ordered a few desserts but the salty caramel pie was off the charts wonderful. We were seated in a side room adjacent to the regular dining room, perhaps because I requested a quiet table. We were very pleased to be there because we were able to have a nice conversation without raising our voices. I will definitely make another reservation at this gem when I visit the Big Easy. New Orleans has plenty of good restaurants but this one really is special.
We were really impressed with GW Fins. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous, lots of wooden beams and metal sculpture. Our waiter was amazing. Just the right blend of friendly, knowledgeable, and witty. The meal was outstanding. The menu is full of seafood but all of it served and combined with flavors you wouldn't expect. I had a blackened swordfish with a sweet chili sauce that was just amazing. They also have a white chocolate bread pudding which I have been dreaming about. I don't know when we will get back to New Orleans but when we do we will be going to GW Fins.
Contemporary menu. Try the sheepshead! Also the specialty Shalibut is nice
Wonderful seafood restaurant. I’d only amended the reservation the morning of to include that it was our anniversary. They managed to get us on that list that included a personalized menu commemorating our anniversary. The food there is as good as any seafood restaurant anywhere
Everything was amazing with one exception, when ordering manhattans they had excellent bourbons ( Basil Hayden and Bookers for example )but only Gallo vermouth. Very sad. But not enough to lower the 5 star review. Fabulous dining experience for Fathers Day.
Once again, GW Fins did not disappoint! Our server Roderic was awesome, as well as Fallon. He was very outgoing and friendly and really made our experience a great one! We decided that we were going to try a bunch of appetizers this trip. We started off with the lobster dumplings, which were melt in your mouth deliciousness!! We also had tempura fin wings, crispy pork belly, jumbo lump crabcake, fried softshell crab, tuna tartare and Firecracker tuna tacos. Everything was simply wonderful! Everything was cooked to perfection and did not disappoint. We ended with the Samoa dessert. This is by far one of the best desserts I have ever tasted. I cannot wait for my next visit!
We had a great dinner. The food was delicious. The service was flawless. We were recommended this place by a friend living in New Orleans and were happy of choice.
We loved this restaurant . The seafood was outstanding...the best soft shell clams I have ever had. And the biscuits! My daughter and granddaugther had sushi style appetizers and they were as good as the local specialties e.g. the gumbo I ordered. Highly recommended.
Food was delicious, service was outstanding and atmosphere was perfect. Have dined here several times and haven't been disappointed yet! Definitely one of our "go to" places when we are in New Orleans for the weekend.
Scalibut was excellent! Service was outstanding!
This little gem is right in the middle of bourbon street and you wouldn’t know it as you step inside the raucous sounds fade away. We celebrated our 20th anniversary and they decorated the table and made the night special. The menu is so sublime you will have a hard time deciding. If we lived here we would visit once a month just to try the other items. Book in advance and finish your night off at fritzels German jazz - another gem you wouldn’t realize is in the middle of all the loud music and people ; an excellent evening
An amazing culinary experience, this visit resulted in a new favorite dining spot in New Orleans. Highly recommended.
Great food! Excellent service! We love the lobster dumplings and the BISCUTS!! Delicious!
From beginning to end this was a phenomenal experience. The staff were knowledgeable and attentive. The food was excellent. We will definitely be back!
Excellent fresh delicious food from appetizers to desserts. Excellent suggestions from appetizers ( bbq shrimps) , Scalibut dish and local fish and desserts.
Food was better than ok but not great, service was nice, jm was limited wanted better choices
Wonderful meal, good variety on menu, excellent service. Our two 12 year old boys rated it as their favorite restaurant during our visit and the best gumbo. We agree. Like that they enforce their dress code.
Service was incredible!
A fabulous place. Always fresh good seafood done creatively.
Way over priced. There are a lot of good restaurants in New Orleans with the same quality food at a better price.
