We spent the weekend with my brand new dna siblings!
Ancestry did the math.
We had the blast!!
Your restaurant is exemplary.
Best meal we had in New Orleans! The food was excellent, and the service was top notch. Try the "Scallubut" entree, you won't be disappointed.
Excellent food as always. Unfortunately, we were seated in a small darker side room with little ambiance (compared to the main dining room with it’s large windows). Service was great.
Great way to celebrate a wedding anniversary. The menu had great selection and great value. The staff was tremendous. We will return.
Very good restaurant! Def get lobster dumplings and bbq shrimp!!!
A wonderful dinner, gracious service, lovely wine. A pleasure from beginning to end
The food was excellent
However we had the reservation and had to wait 20 minutes before being seated
No other restaurant in New Orleans made us wait
Also very noisy
Absolutely superb. Correct service. Wonderful presentation and delightful flavors. I had the seafood ceviche with wonderful citrus flavors and the snapper done perfectly. This was one of my all time favorite dinners.
We were hosting guests from San Francisco who appreciate fine dining. They were highly impressed with the quality of the food, the service and the knowledge of wines that our server exhibited.
We were seated quickly upon arrival. Our server made excellent recommendations for wine pairings and cocktails. The food was delicious!
Outstanding food! We eat here every time we come to New Orleans.
The service was outstanding. The scalibut was perfect. The lobster dumpling was incredible. It was a great dining experience!!
I had never been to New Orleans before, and I chose this restaurant based on reviews. I wanted a date night while we were in town for a wedding, and it definitely lived up to the expectations! Our server was very friendly, gave good wine and dinner recommendations, and then let us enjoy our meal. My husband had the Scalibut, which he devoured, and I had the local Drum which was perfectly cooked and delicious. If we come back to New Orleans we would definitely eat here again.
Great, great experience! It was my wife’s BDay and they treated her like a Queen.
Everything was delicious from the hot biscuits to the perfectly prepared fish. Excellent wait staff. Highly recommended
Everything about the restaurant was wonderful: atmosphere, food, knowledgeable friendly staff
We were visiting New Orleans for the first time and it was the perfect place to enjoy a nice dinner on our last night
Excelente atención y muy detallistas
Excellent service and food
The food was incredible. We lived the pork belly/watermelon and lobster ravioli apps. Favorite for gumbo that we tasted and we had gumbo at every meal we had. The service was phenomenal. Would highly recommend and definitely would go back.
Best fish was John Dory, a delicate white fish flown in 4 times a week from New Zealand!
My wife needs to dine gluten free (it's not a "preference") and was in heaven with the exquisite GF soft shell crab. My red snapper was amazing. The service was personal, friendly, and top notch. We come to GW Finn's every time we visit NOLA, and have always had wonderful dining experiences!
Great food and ambiance. Had to wait 25 minutes from time of reservation
Food and service were exceptional!!
Our dinner was delicious. We shared the Lobster Dumplings for an app and then my husband had the Scalibut. I can see why this is their specialty! I had the New Zealand John Dory, which was out of this world.
We went for our anniversary and it was very hard to speak to each other because the restaurant is incredibly loud and we sat so far away from each other that it was difficult to share.
Our server was incredibly slow. At one point, we thought that he left the restaurant. Thank goodness our meal was so tasty. This far outweighed the mediocre service.
My sister recommended that I do not leave New Orleans without trying this restaurant. Soft shell crab great.
As always every dish was prepared with that “finesse” that separates them from the pack!
Excellent fish, wonderful service. The only issue: a bit noisy. I would strongly recommend it.
It was amazing the food was extraordinary. Drinks were great and so was service. Has the lobster dumplings and the scallops risotto. Can’t wait to go back!
Amazing food with service to match. You need a reservation but worth the time. A favorite in NOLA
Absolutely delicious!! The lobster dumplings and crispy pork belly was amazing. Had the scalibut which was as good as everyone says it is. Boyfriend had local drum which was fabulous. Will return!
Wonderful experience at GW Fins. Rod, our server, was excellent. Everything we ordered (4 of us) was delicious. Great ambiance.
Best Seafood Restaurant in New Orleans. Creative and Innovative. Service was impeccable.
We ate here twice in the week we were in New Orleans as the seafood was superb! Waiter (Ryan) recommended several entrees that were signature dishes and they were delicious.
Our dining experience for our party of four has us still talking about our meals at GW Fins.
Get the Scalibut and sizzling oysters! Excellent meal
Was recommended by a friend who lives here. Barbecues shrimp was standard as usual but I was disappointed with the blackened swordfish. Expected more flavor. Bread pudding was excellent. Overall was good but nothing special - particularly for New Orleans. But they must be doing something right because they've been around a long time and it was packed.
Hambriento agradable aunque ruidoso, pescado en su punto sin pretensiones pero rico, el servicio muy amable, recomendable!
Food & service were EXCELLENT!
I was in town for a business trip. I read great reviews about GW Fins. I was not disappointed. The staff was great and went out of their way to make the meal great. And the meal was GREAT...I had the John Dory on recommendation of the waiter. I think it was the single best meal I have eaten. If you are on the fence about going, I wouldn't hesitate. Reservations are a must or you may not get in.
GW Fins had one of the best fish dinners I've ever had
Service was exceptional and I highly recommend this restaurant.
While visiting New Orleans, our family had several opportunities to experience fine dining in a variety of wonderful restaurants. We all agreed that GW Fins provided the best balance of original food preparation (oysters cooking on the shell at the table for example), portion size, value, and flavours. The biscuits were delicious and we all had seconds. The Scallops and risotto were perfectly prepared (2 items I have often been disappointed in at other restaurants). The dining room was busy (all tables were full) but there was appropriate room between the tables which allowed for good conversation (not too noisy) and easy flow for the servers. The servers were attentive without being annoying and took initiative to refill water glasses and bring more biscuits without us asking as well as offering their opinion on favourite menu items. GW Fins is now on our "must visit" list for our next trip to New Orleans.
