GW Fins is awesome. From the moment we arrived we felt we had made the best restaurant choice.
All the people we engaged and interacted with were awesome.
The food was of the best we have eaten anywhere in the world. We had lobster dumplings, pork belly (the watermelon was a perfect pairing), and swordfish. Desert was their magnificent crime brûlée.
Even the biscuits they served were awesome.
We both left satiated.
The mushroom risotto was unbelievable! Combined with the bottle of Montrachet the chef prepared entrées were among the best we’ve ever experienced.
This is the best seafood in the city, hands down. We started with the lobster ravioli, tuna tartare and Ruby Red Shrimp. All were outstanding—particularly the ravioli. So good! For our entrees we had the sea scallops, the drum and the center cut filet. We tried the mushroom risotto as a side on the recommendation of our server, and everything was delicious. The risotto is a must. And the scallops were buttery and sweet and perfectly prepared. For dessert, we sampled the creme brûlée and the Samoa. The creme brûlée was especially tasty. Start to finish, we had a fantastic dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Decent sized chairs and tables well spaced out from other diners mean you don’t have to listen to their chat while seducing your loved one. But lack of soft textiles on the walls means its a bit noisy. Food was inspired. Avoid the dross and eat here.
Once again GW fins did not disappoint! We had an amazing experience. The suggestions by the wait staff were excellent! We all tried something different and shared around the table.
The entrees were amazing and the wine was incredible. The whole exerience was top shelf!
Thanks again and we will be back!
Service outstanding. Food tasted great. Presented beautifully. A little noisy.
Try the swordfish and red snapper dishes! Both were excellent!
So consistently outstanding! We eat here whenever we are in NOLA. Get any entree, but be sure to start with the fig salad....one of my favorite dishes anywhere!
Lived up to what I heard about this place. Amazing flavors and fish dishes
Kevin our server was awesome! Food was delicious
Good food. Alan was awesome! We will be back
Excellent seafood, but the service was really the standout (which says something, because the food was spectacular). Definitely make reservations!
The best food we had in all of New Orleans-inventive combinations with outstanding taste
Amazing experience from the moment we arrived. Very welcoming, tremendous service, fabulous food, superb ambiance. Loved it, loved it, loved it.
AMAZING! Our server, Allan, was wonderful... his recommendations were spot on. each dish was better than the last / my hurlers fig salad was scrumptious
Great atmosphere and really good food. Their shrimp remoulade salad was excellent. Waiter was very knowledgeable.
Everything about this restaurant was fabulous! Our server was educated and everything on this menu!! He stated us off with the Tempura Fin Wings,Crispy noodle salad, Korean glaze. Amazing! My husband got the Pompano wood grilled and I enjoyed the soft shelled crab.. Thank you GW Fins for a wonderful night.
Enjoyed our experience from
Start to finish. Glad we had reservations !
The friendliness of staff and the quality of the food makes GW fins a favorite when visiting NOLA
This is my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. It's menu is creative and refreshing, a true taste of the sea. In fact, whenever someone wants a seafood recommendation, GW Fins is my go to! The service is top notch; friendly, swift, and caring. I just simply love the entire ambiance and experience!
Fabulous food....and those biscuits!!!! Yum!!!
though the food was delicious, the ambiance and service were poor at best. my black friend was treated poorly by staff and was accused of stealing one of the collared shirts they keep on hand (dresscode), even though he had given it back to the front desk. we bought a $200 dollar meal and tipped over 20% and were still treated like we were undesirables, i think likely due to age (20s) and our interacial coupling in a very white restaurant group. i would not recommend. we were uncomfortable and treated without respect. i was beyond disappointed
The food was awesome. Will return someday. This 50 character limit sucks.
Great food and service. Overall, one of the better meals we had while in New Orleans.
This was a truly outstanding dining experience, even by New Orleans’ sky-high standards. Every course was meticulously prepared and delicious, service was outstanding, and the wine list was impeccable. The best seafood I’ve had in the Big Easy!
The Red Snapper is just wonderful. Sat in the front of the restaurant for first time and found it uncomfortable and loud. Really prefer the back booths but the food is
Fabulous no matter where you sit!
GW Fins is the best restaurant in New Orleans in addition to the best seafood restaurant we ever eaten at. The seafood preparation is perfect with wonderful sauces and accompaniments. The Lobster Dumpling appetizer is so good that we ended up each getting an order plus an additional appetizer (Tuna Tartare) to share. Everyone in our party of four tried something different including the Swordfish, Halibut and Salmon and the one non-seafood person got a filet of beef. She liked it more than our previous evening's dinner at a steakhouse. The service was excellent, extensive wine list and expertly made cocktails. Cannot say enough about this wonderful restaurant. And the manager, Doug, personally greets us every time we visit.
This is a busy spot so be sure to make reservations! Our waiter team of Nick and Kevin (and Dean) were awesome. Very friendly and full of recommendations. Meal was wonderful. The yellowtail tartare and Scalibut were “must tries”. And don’t miss the salty malty ice cream pie...delicious! Only disappointment was that they didn’t have any oysters. We will be back!
My fiance' and I attended GWFins for our anniversary dinner. We loved the ambiance and it was made very special for us with confetti on the table, a special momento just for us and complimentary chocolate truffles for dessert. We shared the lobster dumplings for our appetizer which were perfect. For our entrees we had the Scalibut and Swordfish, both perfectly cooked and flavorful. Our specialty cocktails were also made to perfection and a wonderful accompaniment to our meal. Amazing experience for our first visit. Great quality all around!
Best seafood in NOLA! There is nothing more to say so take it or leave it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Excellent restaurant. We can't wait to go again when we are in New Orleans.
I love GW Fins and always will! Awesome atmosphere and people! The staff at this establishment is phenomenal and are always the epitome of professionalism.
Yummy salads and fish dishes!
We were looking for great food for our last night in New Orleans. Although we couldn't get in until 10:15pm, it was worth the wait. Everything was amazing. We all loved the lobster dumplings and ceviche. All the fish entrees were delicious and the mushroom risotto was definitely worth adding. Wine recommendation was perfect and service couldn’t have been better. Thank you Tori. GW Finns definitely deserves all the 5 Star Reviews.
This has to be the best restaurant I have ever been to in life. For the ambiance, location, EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE, Delicious Food, perfectly executed. There is NOTHING and I do mean NOTHING that this location lacked in. I do plan on coming back EVERY SINGLE TIME I brand myself in New Orleans. Excellent job.
On a visit to New Orleans this lovely restaurant was on the ground floor of the building we stayed in. What an amazing find! The wait staff were attentive but not intrusive, the food was flavorful, and the biscuits were amazing. I hope to return to this dynamic city in the near future and look forward to dining here again!
Despite a reservation, we waited 30 minutes to be seated. The place was very busy and energetic. The food was excellent and the freshly baked biscuits were reasons to return whenever in that area. We had a server who worked very hard and was super nice. Highly recommended.
BEST experience ever...this restaurant is a MUST!!!!
Amazing! One of the best meals I have ever eaten. Lobster dumplings, pork belly and schalibut were truly amazing.
The restaurant is always a delicious delight. One of my favorites
