Excellent in all respects.
Excellent in every way.
Got there early and decided to sit at bar for dinner. Service was outstanding. Food, as always, was great. Will be back soon. There’s a reason it’s one of the top restaurants in NOLA.
Our meal was lobster dumplings for an appetizer. We split the wedge salad. My wife had the scallops which were cooked to perfection. I had the Mangrove snapper. Shared creme brûlée for dessert. My wife had a specialty martini which included jalapeños and cucumbers. I had a version of an old fashion with blackberries and rosemary. Everything was GREAT!
Everything was amazing! The Tuna tartare is by far the best I’ve had! And you can never go wrong with the scalibut!
Food was excellent!
This was an amazing place for a dinner date. Made a reservation, highly recommend a reservation. All dishes that were had were amazing. The service was outstanding.
Excellent ! Great food ! Awesome ambiance's,
Will try to book our orthopedic surgeon department for the months of September
Wonderful place staff is amazing and attentive. Loved the biscuits they are so good and served warm. Food is amazing can’t go wrong.
We must have landed on an off-night. The meal was OK...nothing really special. The previous night we had dined at another 5-star restaurant, which served imaginative food, impeccable service, and a dress code for dinner. Our waiter was good, but stretched a bit between to many tables and taking care of patrons incidentals. The decor is nice, but a bit dated. The most disappointing aspect of the meal was the dessert. We ordered carrot cake, but the product looked and tasted a bit like a small spice muffin that fell apart on the plate.
This was or first time at GW Fins, bar manager had great knowledge of the wine list! Our wait staff was wonderful, the food and suggestions were spot on
Came here to celebrate our 50th anniversary. The staff did everything to make it special. Food and service were outstanding. Thank you
Didn't think the food was worth the cost, it was tasty, but my favorite part was the appetizer.
GW Fins is over-the-top. For starters we had Squash Blossoms with Marscapone and Crab Meat, Crispy Pork Belly with Melon, and Lobster Dumplings. Entree was local Drum Fish wrapped in crisp chicken skin! Absolutely amazing. Finished it all off with a pretzel/caramel/salted ice cream pie and espresso martini! The acoustics are lacking, so it is loud, but it didn't bother us. We would definitely dine here again and again. As for any bad or so-so reviews for this restaurant.... I can only say to ignore them!
My husband and I went here for our anniversary and we were not disappointed. The lobster dumplings were great! Fresh salmon and halibut (scalibut dish) were delicious. The attentive wait staff was also a nice sue. We’ll definitely be back when we return to NOLA.
A very fine restaurant with great local food and an excellent attentive staff.
I took alot of time to chose this restaurant as was only in town for two nights.
The service was poor, the food was nice but not amazing. It might have had a better atmosphere if we’d gone earlier in the night.
The maitre’d and server were disinterested and probably over the night.
For a restaurant with such good reviews and $$ it was very disappointing.
Started with the lobster dumplings in buerre blanc sauce. Absolutely wonderful, especially the sauce. Glad we shared this as there were 5 substantial pieces. Ordered the cracking crusted drum as entree. Outstanding! Flavourful, juicy and well-presented. Would definitely recommend this entree. Our waiter was amazing and very attentive
Overall, an excellent restaurant. A bit noisy however and a bit pricey ($100 inc tax) for 1 drink, 1 app and 2 entrees (no dessert) but worth the experience in a wonderful, warm restaurant. Great location and a “must” when in the French Quarter
Great meal. No leftovers...couldn’t stop eating the snapper and mangrove entrees.
It’s a food oasis in the craziness of the French Quarter! The food and service was incredible!
The food is Absolutely Amazing and Delish! The fish is the best hands down! Love, Love, Love the Lobster Dumplins and BBQ Shrimp Apps
Everything about this place is amazing. The food, the wine, the service, the view. Especially with the right company this place is fantastic.
GW Fins is our favorite New Orleans restaurant in the French Quarter. It is now a part of our "must do's" on any visit to New Orleans. The crab cakes and the fish fins are must haves when you dine at GW Fins.
We saw why this restaurant is #1 in New Orleans. Everything was fabulous, best service and food we had all weekend. A must-go in the Big Easy. Don’t miss it!!!!!
Restaurant was an excellent choice. Waiter was attentive and very cordial. Food was outstanding. Fish was very fresh. Would definitely return and would recommend highly for any occasion.
The food and service was impeccable! We made our reservations with open table for GW Fins and everything went off without a hitch.
Everything from out appetizers to our after dinner drink now and dessert was amazing! The gentlemen that take care of your table give very good suggestions if you are on the fence about something.
The scalibut is a must if you fancy scallops. It was heaven! The bourbon sweet potato’s are a must for any sweet potato lover. The risotto is rich and buttery and seasoned to perfection.
Delicious food and awesome service! The squash blossoms were amazing, love the scalibut, and the pompano was great. Our waitress was such a gem and the staff were so delightful!! Good, fun location too! Go here!!!!!!!
My only complaint is that they charged us for my mom’s drink that my mom didn’t like. They made it seem like they wouldn’t but they did. Minuscule complaint!
Had such a wonderful experience! They knew it was our anniversary. Even though HH they were very busy, they treated us like we were their only customers.
Best dinner yet in New Orleans!!!!
Yellowfin tuna was excellent!!!
Scalibut also excellent ( sliced scallops on top of Halibut
This is my favorite restaurant in Nola. Great food, service and atmosphere
While vacationing in New Orleans, we celebrated with dinner at GW fins. They had a copy of the menu for us to use commemorate our day. My Cobia and my wife's blackened swordfish were both outstanding. Service was also terrific. They also provided a free dessert of truffles and a candle. Highly recommended.
Our service wasn't great this time around. I've been to this restaurant several times prior though and it was spot on, so I will give them a pass. Everyone has an off night. Food was delicious as usual.
Excellent every time we at GE Finns
We were celebrating my friends birthday. It was her first time there. She loved it. Tre and Chris gave awesome service. Chris even sang happy birthday with us. I will most definitely go back.
The best thing I ever ate! This appetizer was a synergy of fresh red snapper and Thai influenced sweet and spicy sauce❤️
Once we got in, we were very impressed with overall atmosphere and were seated in a very nice booth. The service provided by wait staff was excellent. My only observation about the staff was that hostesses could have friendlier.
Food was delicious and fresh.
The service was absolutely top notch- we haven’t had better service in at least a decade. Gnocchi was a little oily. Fish very good- lots of choices. Would definitely dine again.
This was by far the best dining experience I have had. Katie and I had the most amazing time at this restaurant. The service was impeccable, the food superb, and the portions quite large. Overall we had a lovely experience. I recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have a fine dining experience with their friends and love ones. Thank you again!
We stumbled across this restaurant, almost literally, within 30 yards of Bourbon Steet. Very nice establishment with fresh, local seafood and a wonderful staff.
Scalibut was amazing! Coolinary menu had great choices.
Love love love this restaurant. We make a reservation every time we visit New Orleans. A+
