Amazing. Best seafood I’ve ever had!
Was here for dinner with a friend tonight. We had Lobster dumpling and pork belly for appetizers. Out of the world!! :) we ordered red snapper for our main course, it was pretty good. Reservations are recommended.
The best of the best always!!
Best seafood fine dining in the city rn.
Our waiter was very good and really friendly. The older hostess at the podium when you come in never says hello or smile. Not friendly at all and not representative of the rest of the staff.
Consistently the best and most creative restaurant for seafood in New Orleans!
The lobster fess was delicious, as usual. Fins is one of my favorite places in NOLA!
Annual trip to NOLA.
We celebrated our anniversary that night. Great service and dinner items were great.
BBQ Shrimp was the best! The staff was attentive but seemed to rush us a bit
Our first time at GW Fins & it did not disappoint. From start to end the meal was amazing! Highly recommend.
The seafood was exceptional, fresh with very nice presentation. Booths are very comfortable with a tiered layout. It is a little loud for my taste but other than that it was a great experience. Manager Brenda was very gracious and attentive to all details. We liked it so much we dined 2 nights in a row.
Amazing food and the service was top notch. Scallops were cooked perfectly. The creme brulee was incredible. I would highly recommend this if you want a dinner that is beyond incredible
I ordered the scalibut but I was not happy getting only one royal red shrimp. I have eaten royal reds for 20 yrs or more really disappointed that only one on my plate. Royal reds are like lobsters they are delicious. Why not serve reds and boiled shrimp served different ways ? Tourist would love that. I am a local who loves shrimp. Overall the meal was good. I will come back.
Hectic and the waiters are excellent but rushed. Feels like a too popular chain. You must want a boisterous atmosphere to really enjoy.
We were in New Orleans for our 25th wedding anniversary. From the moment we checked in, the staff greeted us by name and wished us a happy anniversary. They had our table decorated with confetti and a special menu was printed just for us.(Same menu, it just had our names on it) the food, as one would expect, was excellent! What really stood out to us was the staff. Every single person, especially our server, were very attentive and helpful. Would definitely go back if we were in NOLA again
GW Fins always exceeds our expectations. Dinner (Scalibut & Scallops) was masterly prepared. We had plenty of choices for wine which was nicely paired with our meal. Every time I am in New Orleans, GW Fins is a place I visit!
GW Fins has joined the upper echelon of New Orleans restaurants, on a par (though without the history yet, of course) of Antoine's, Galatoire's and Commanders Palace, all of which we also ate at this week. The lobster dumplings were a great starter, though I wish there were six rather than just five. All the raves about its signature dish Scalibut (halibut with scallops) are true. Scrumptious! The blackened swordfish also was great. The reasonably priced white chocolate caramel bread pudding was a yummy way to end the meal. Nice selection of wines, too. Our server Randall was attentive and knowledgeable and he offered us some good advice regarding dishes and drinks. The manager came by our table twice to make sure everything was to our liking. If you're looking for a memorable meal, consider GW Fins.
Excellent service staff amazing!!!
Absolutely the best meal we had in NOLA! The food was incredible from the hot biscuits to our appetizers to our entrees. We had the lobster dumplings which were filled with delicious lobster and served in a sauce that complemented its tenderness. We also had the soft shell crab which was arguably our favorite. Just the right amount of crispiness on the outside, moist and bursting with flavor on the inside. Our party also enjoyed the scalibut which is their signature dish. The creaminess of the risotto topped by the richness of the tender filet cannot be beat. Last but not least the Cobia woodgrilled provided a unique smokiness we did not have anywhere else. Served with crab fritters and pepper jelly made that meal complete. We will be back.
Highly recommend. Wonderful for celebrating a special occasion. We were celebrating our anniversary and were pleasantly surprised by confetti on the table, a copy of the menu as a keepsake, and a complimentary chocolate truffle plate at dessert. Service was wonderful - servers well informed of the menu and made excellent recommendations. Staff was numerous and attentive, we felt cared for and it added to the atmosphere. Ambiance was comfortable and not pretentious yet felt upscale and fitting for a special night out.
The lobster dumplings and Scalibut were, as always, exceptional!!!
Favorite in Nola. Everything was perfect. Greeting, service and food. Fish cooked perfectly. Side of mushroom risotto best ever. Highly recommended
Five restaurants in 4 days in NOLA. 2nd only to Arnaud’s. Only negative we’re the heirloom tomatoes which had been refrigerated...big no no. Otherwise a very nice dining experience
The food and table service was excellent. The reason for the less than perfect score was our treatment by the receptionist. If you have a rule of not seating partial parties, apply it to everyone. Our reservation was for 4 people, but 2 were running late, so we were told to wait. In the process of waiting, I saw a person come in off the street and go meet his party. I then stood up to let the receptionist know that I saw what had transpired. Then the 2 of us were immediately seated at a table used for 2 to 4 people??? Our remaining 2 guest arrived shortly, thereafter.
Scalibut awesome—expensive but not anymore so than other good restaurants in French Quarter. Noise level in main dining room very loud, but fortunately our party of 3 were seated in small room with about 6 tables so carrying on a decent conversation was actually possible. My companions had the lobster ravioli, triple wedge salad, BBQ shrimp, and gumbo and said it was very good, and those appetizers were enough to make a meal.
GW Fins never disappoints...always the freshest seafood and always delicious!!
Very nice place. Service fine, food wonderful. Pricey but in keeping with other N.O. better restaurants.
This place is right off Bourbon Street, and so very convenient. Very elegant, and amazing menu choices. All delicious and great service.
The food here is excellent as is the service. The menu is amazing. We were celebrating my birthday which was made extra special by the server. High recommend this place and requesting Ashely as your server.
Excellent as always!
Excellent fish restaurant! Knowledgeable servers and fresh, creative seafood menu. A nice change from the rich, meat-heavy fare that New Orleans is famous for. Everything was beautifully prepared and tasty!
Loved the experience. Service was top notch! Everything about the food was fantastic. I had the steak and I’m telling you it was cooked to perfection! I will definitely plan another visit there really soon. I want to try the red snapper. I felt extra special that night because the put our names in the menu and wished us a Happy Anniversary! Nice touch you guys!!!!
The service was excellent, and while I did enjoy all of my food, it just didn't feel as special as I was hoping. None of my food felt really hot, but more so, the food felt warm. The biscuits were the only thing actually hot. I got the dish they are famous for -- the Scalibut, and while it was delicious, I've had similar dishes that were slightly cheaper and more food. I also felt all of the sauces, whether for the lobster dumplings or for the Scalibut, were extremely thin so that it didn't feel like it was actually coating any of the food. All of the plates were completely flat, so it made it even more tedious to try and get the sauces on a fork/spoon to put on my food. Overall, this was a good experience, but it's not a restaurant I am dying to go back to as the cost/value is not worth it to me for what you get on the plate.
Excellent service from Fallon B. I would come here again whenever I’m back in Nola.
Service and Food was top notch as always. The quality of the food and attention to detail makes GWF one of our favorite NOLA stops.
OH MY!!! Would travel back to N.O. just to eat there again. Every morsel was outstanding and the service was impeccable! My new favorite restaurant in N.O. Had the lobster dumplings, Arugula Salad with figs and blueberries and the Scalibut. Truly outstanding.
Three of us had five different seafoods--1) blackened swordfish, the 2) 3) Scalibut, and the third person had the 4) lobster ravioli appetizer and the 5) shrimp remolaude salad. All items were great!
Incredible as usual. Food is to die for. Service is polished , efficient , intuitive and most importantly friendly. We are local and regulars here because we feel like and are treated like family. Kudos to Keyo, Marlon, Ron & Alexis for taking such good care of us. And a special thanks to Chef for making a special dish for me.
