Excellent! My husband and I will be back! We both had the halibut and it was perfect.
Tori, our server made the experience even better! Great food and atmosphere.
Wonderful food. Great service. Beautiful ambiance.
My favorite New Orleans restaurant!
Food was great and service very hospitable they were most willing to accommodate us in any way they could. Highly recommend this establishment
chef tim sent us some excellent appetizers and every bite of the meal was incredible.
It wasn’t worth the hype. I had to send my entree back twice. The first time, it wasn’t served hot. When I brought it to my server’s attention, he immediately removed it and said he would take care of it. A few minutes later, I received the plate. All they did was re- heat my original plate. When you re-heat fish it dries out. A restaurant should NEVER re- heat a plate— especially a restaurant that believes it is five stars. The only positive to that experience is that that the server and the manager were attentive and polite.
Cardell was an incredible server! He made my birthday extra special and the experience was great. The food here is incredible, some of the best I have ever eaten!
Incredible from start to finish. Food was perfect portion size and prepared exquisitely. Definitely our new favorite restaurant in NOLA.
First time dining in the fine restaurant and it did not disappoint. Loved the daily menu due to the availability of the fish that day. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to locals and tourists alike.
Kudos to Darnell, our server. Great service!!!!!!
I never fail to dine at GW Finns when in NOLA. Their food is exceptional, from presentation to taste and I have always had great service. However, this visit the service was deplorable. We had reservations for four at eight o clock, Friday, December 6th. We arrived on time and waited nearly 20 minutes to be seated. That by itself I could have overlooked; the restaurant was packed and it was a Friday night after all. Our hostess was also very gracious and apologized for the delay. From there it went downhill. Our waitress was unfriendly, cold, and just generally unpleasant. We had other attendants serving us our bread , water etc. and their service was acceptable and responded quickly with water refills and to check in. Thank goodness because we saw our waitress a total of three times through our approximately 90 minute meal. Once to take our order, second to ask how our entrees were as she breezed by our table, not stopping to hear our reply (our food was excellent) and finally to ask if we needed anything besides our check. We said we were not ready for our check yet as we wanted to finish our cocktails. When we were ready to leave we had to ask for our waitress and finally were presented our bill by another server. I will return but only if we have a different server.
Fantastic food. The presentation was amazing. Service was very friendly though drinks took forever to be served and the meal lasted a little longer than desired. Still highly recommend!
Second time here and still very good. We had a salad followed by scallops. The dessert is to die for salty malty. Our server was Fallon assisted by Ben. They were excellent. We made reservations weeks before and the restaurant was very crowded. Everyone who comes to New Orleans should go to GW Finns
About the best dining experience we have had in New Orleans. The food was the star, but the service and ambiance were super as well. We celebrated our wedding anniversary, which we noted on Open Table, and they greeted us with a special menu and then treated us to a lovely dessert. The expectations were very high based on reviews and rankings, and we were still blown away. Such a great experience!
The barbecue shrimp and Lobster dumplings were amazing
The pork belly appetizer was THE best we’ve ever had! The fat just melted in our mouths. We could have eaten that as our meal! Great food. Dinner portions larger than I expected. Was a bit noisy but that just meant it was busy.
Best atmosphere and food in New Orleans. The biscuits are amazing. Do not miss out on the lobster dumplings! Ask for Rod’s section...he’s New Orleans “cool”...and a phenomenal waiter! You won’t be disappointed!
GW Fin’s never disappoints. The food and service is excellent.
The busboy was taciturn to the point that I asked him if he had a bad day. He said no. I said, you seem unhappy: no reply. We felt rushed. It was a slow night but not late. Guess the wanted to go home. Food came out too fast. Main while we were still eating starter. A mouse appeared towards the end of our meal. The manager comped our after-dinner drinks, but didn't seem too concerned about the mouse, who was likely dying as he kept reappearing. I said to the busboy, there he is again. He just stared at the mouse silently. Food was good--appetizer fantastic--but not as good as our first visit three years ago.
Our server was friendly & very attentive. The appetizers & meals were perfect sized portions and extremely fresh. Would highly recommend this restaurant.
We had the swordfish and it was delicious. Service was friendly and impeccable! Highly recommend this restaurant. We would definitely go back the next time we’re in New Orleans.
Best meal I have had in a long time. Great service - Allen was excellent.
Greatest seafood restaurant I’ve ever been to. Our waiter was the best we’ve ever had!!!
My husband and I went there to celebrate our anniversary. The service was impeccable, food was fabulous, and atmosphere perfect for date night or special occasion.
They even went the extra mile and made our night that much more special with a dessert that said happy anniversary. Also every staff member that walked by stopped to wish us a happy anniversary.
I had the drum fish, which I’ve never had before, and it was fabulous! If you’ve not eaten here, be sure to give it a try, you won’t be disappointed!
Wow! Une gastronomie inoubliable 🤗
Went above and beyond to accommodate legume allergy. Everything was excellent! Will be coming back soon!
In a town overflowing with good food, GW Fins is spectacular.
Great food. Great service
Felix was an excellent server!
This was our one splurge while in NOLA and we chose GW Fins based on the recommendation of a tour guide. It was a great choice. Nice food, attentive waiter and reasonable price. The restaurant was quiet and elegant despite being close to Bourbon Street. The lobster dumplings, red snapper and ice cream pie were all delicious.
Another great experience at GW Fins. Our server, Oliver, was attentive and very knowledgeable. The Scallibut was buttery and cooked perfectly. The blackened swordfish was charred just right and not salty. The gumbo was stellar as always. :)
This was our 3rd time at GW Fins. We celebrated my husband’s and my birthdays together. The food was excellent as before. We had Scalibut which was delicious!! I had the beet salad and my husband had crab cakes. We were happy with deserts as well. Overall, this is one of the best restaurants in New Orleans. We will be back.
Best meal I have ever had in New Orleans
The food was amazing and Travis, our server was spot on. We are looking forward to a return visit.
Great place Gary W owner great to visit with caring group of people. Don’t skip lobster dumpling l
Incredible meal and service! The wine and cocktail selection was very large. I had a nice glass of Albariño. For an appetizer, I had the lobster pillows and my husband had the shrimp. For our entree, my husband had the Scalibut which looked amazing. I had the Grouper which was delicious. Everything was prepared and presented creatively. The appetizers and entrees were absolutely scrumptious! I highly recommend this wonderful restaurant!
Amazing in all aspects. Great ambiance, perfect service and excellent good. The blackened swordfish was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. I could eat there every day.
Fantastic seafood, service, and smiles all night. We will definitely visit again during our next trip to New Orleans!
I have eaten seafood from numerous restaurants in the New Orleans area; GW Fins is the absolute finest of the best. All other seafood restaurants are a distant 2nd!
Took my wife here for her birthday.
First the good-
Good service, except...
Now the bad-
I had stated it was a birthday in the reservation. The hostess was cool, no smile, no birthday acknowledgement, only your reservation isn't for 10 minutes, you will have to wait. We were pleased with our table, but I also noticed that the next two tables had celebration sparkle nicely spread on them. And later a candle and dessert arrived for them. I mentioned to our waiter that it was also my wife's birthday. He said he would do something. Dessert came and went, I asked if he had forgotten the birthday. He said yes, I'll get it. That's it, no sorry about that. He comes back with a birthday plate, puts it down and leaves - not a word. Everyone seemed too busy, too efficient to care. But this small slight spoiled what would have been a nice evening. We won't be back...
Service was exceptional and food was best ever!!! I was more than pleased with everything and would return again and again.
