                              We were really excited to come again as we had been before and stayed at the hotel but this time the food was not the best. It took a long time to come out and was pretty bland. Wish it was a better experience as we were looking forward to it but we were sadly disappointed.

                              Booked for a Sunday . The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. We ordered the vegetarian roast and the steak pie. Mine was delicious and my husband said it was the best steak pie he'd ever had, packed full with quality steak. We shared a sticky toffee pudding which was equally good. Just had a bottle of water with our meal and it came to £55. We'd certainly recommend Guy Fawkes and you need to book ahead.

                              Sticky tables. The forks weee literally stuck to the table. Put an immediate downer on the rest of the experience

                              The roast beef Sunday lunch was delicious and would definitely recommend it . Lovely atmosphere with very attentive serving staff . We will definitely be returning to the Guy Fawkes pub .

                              Really good atmosphere, fantastic food ( risotto and steak pie are delicious). Staff super friendly! And so much history! Definitely book here for your trip in York!!

                              Seated quickly and order taken quickly. Then waited 45 minutes waitress came to check order and clear not been passed to kitchen. Said would be another 20 mins which passed and other diners were getting theirs which was same food and had arrived after us. Totally accept mistakes are made but we had no apology at all until after an hour decided enough was enough so paid for drinks and left. Really staff who were waiting on need to be trained in customer service
