Gusto (pronounced Goo-sto) means tasty in Italian. Since opening our doors in 2012, Gusto 101 has been serving up modern takes on Southern Italian classics. As with Trattoria Nervosa in Yorkville, Janet Zuccarini has meshed a passion for creating memorable food with a vision for delivering soulful, transporting dining experiences.

We put as much care and consideration into our food and drink as we do our architecture and design. Located in a repurposed garage in the heart of downtown Toronto, our restaurant has become a neighbourhood gathering place. Whether you’re craving the warmth of a wood-fired grill or a glass of wine on our rooftop patio, we do our best to merge the everyday with the exceptional.

Food was excellent and service was really good. The unfortunate part was it was so hot. The temperature was so uncomfortable.

Overall experience was decent, service was a little slow when wanting to order starters/mains. Food was great, mushroom pasta is always a favorite. At the end of the experience between getting the bill and the server coming back to the table with the machine was probably 10-15 minutes.

I heard about the quality of Gusto, so I booked a table for my husband’s birthday and I specifically mentioned that I want to surprise him with a piece of cake and they didn’t pay attention to my note on our reservation! And the place was too hot and it ruined all my expectations!
