Gusto (pronounced Goo-sto) means tasty in Italian. Since opening our doors in 2012, Gusto 101 has been serving up modern takes on Southern Italian classics. As with Trattoria Nervosa in Yorkville, Janet Zuccarini has meshed a passion for creating memorable food with a vision for delivering soulful, transporting dining experiences.

We put as much care and consideration into our food and drink as we do our architecture and design. Located in a repurposed garage in the heart of downtown Toronto, our restaurant has become a neighbourhood gathering place. Whether you’re craving the warmth of a wood-fired grill or a glass of wine on our rooftop patio, we do our best to merge the everyday with the exceptional.

    Always an exceptional experience at Gusto. The service is authentic and attentive, and the food is always delicious. Great portion sizes. Excellent wines by the glass. For all the years I have been coming here, it has stayed remarkably consistent.

    Disappointed they gave away our table despite messaging and calling multiple times. They were able to sit us at bar seating upstairs but was incredibly loud and tight. Wasn't the romantic atmosphere I hoped but grateful they still accommodated us. Food is good but small portions for some items.

    Very personable staff, food was hot and was made with some excellent ingredients. I would highly recommend this to anyone for funky casual Italian restaurant.

    As usual, food was amazing. The portion sizes seem to be shrinking, I was comparing to some older photos I took over the years (one of the best ai funghi pastas in the city, I've kept receipts) and definitely can say the portion sizes are getting smaller. We shared the calamari, mafaldi ai funghi pasta and salsicce pizza and a couple of beers. Food is great at gusto.

    I was dining in alone but the person who is looking after me made me comfortable. It was my first time to go to Gusto 101. I followed your Instagram and wanted to try it for awhile. The person is the having a black nail polish (apologies) was not able to get the name. I was recommended great appetizer, mains and drinks. The person also made a great conversation starter like traveling. Also, the person is very observed where offering in house chilly oil. I thought that is something very intuitive and one of the great skills a service person can have. I’ll definitely be back either alone or with friends. Again, thank you to the person who was looking afternoon me last night!
