We were regulars at the Gurkha's Inn in 2015/16, and it was always excellent. We moved back to Greenwich in 2019, so the Gurkha was always going to be top of the list for places to go on our return.
I'm very happy to say that it did not disappoint; the food continues to be consistently OUTSTANDING. I heartily recommend it.
The food was amazing, I went off indian food a year ago but decided since it was a special night I should try it. It did not disappoint, the flavour was on point.
My only complaint and it not a big issue.....the menu should be a bit more clear, I order a prawn dish for starter and thought it would be a sharing thing but wasn't. But beautiful cheft and staff
The Gurkha's Inn is a good curry restaurant and something of an institution for locals. I have dined there many times of the last few years.
Marked down a little in this review because of the noise of the other customers. It was Saturday night and there were a couple of parties of young men talking and shouting at times. My partner and I ate quickly and left, we could not hold a conversation.
Go during the week, avoid Saturdays.
Good food, good value. Would recommend for dinner with friends/family.
We asked the waiter to recommend a great curry and he recommended something which wasn't a curry, I ordered a small beer and he served me a large beer, and the sauces were taken away once the food arrived (For some reason). Good food, friendly people, but the service needed improvement.
Restaurants that give priority to take away delivery orders seem to be more prevalent these days - forgetting the customer that makes the effort to go to the restaurant - therefore slowing the service down .... annoying
The food is authentic and full of flavour! Everything that we ordered was fantastic!
Food was excellent service was attentive, good value and taste every dish was distinctly different will definitely be visiting again
Very tasty Nepalese dishes. The service was excellent and the Nepalese beer was also very good. We had a really enjoyable evening.
We have been here a few times as a group now. Always an enjoyable night. Great food, service is good and was surprised not to be hassled for more drinks as we were sitting chatting for a long time after finishing our coffees. I really would recommend this place to anyone who likes a decent curry and a great place to meet with friends.
The best curry that we've had in a long time!
Had a really good family meal, attentive and courteous service also understanding on dietary requirements as family is vegan. Will definitely go again
The food was disappointing and not nearly as good as it's been when I've visited in the past. The service used to be impeccable - maybe it's under new management.
Tables had not been set up for the large party booked, but remedied quickly as restaurant was very quiet. Food a little sweet, but generally well received.
Good food, and great value. Hit the beers and ate handsomely for £30 each. Atmosphere was a little lacking as the restaurant was quite empty early on a Thursday evening. Worth a visit.
We'd Both noted that we'd never eaten Nepalise in the last few weeks, so this was a chance to loose our cherry. Ghurka's Innis a nice little restaurant just off Trafalger Road. The decor is smart, and friendly, like the staff. The menu was mainly 'Indian Restaurant' favorites, with a reasonable range of Nepalise items across the menu. We chose Nepalese for all dishes and we're not disappointed, nicely cooked dishes, slightly left field of standard Indian cuisine, worth checking out. Try the Nepalise beer! I would say that the food Is a nice change from standard Curry.
Had plenty of good food and the staff are nice. Really love their naan breads and chicken tikka was tender.
This place is a real find and well worth the trip to East Greenwich. Tasty food in a comfortable environment.
Been last time, great food with really good service. Attentive staff recommend very nice food, will get back soon for a lovely dinner
The food here was very nice although the portion sizes were very generous. Certainly in the rice department you could easily share between two. The staff were really lovely and also helpful with our menu selection queries. The restaurant itself was unremarkable and not what I would choose for a special occasion. We were given a little free drink of our choice at the end of the meal which is always appreciated.
but slightly lacking in atmosphere. Absolute value for money and good tasting food.
Been here a few times and always leave happy. Staff are very friendly and attentive.
Good veggie options. Food portions are big, very good value for money. Wine list is also nice. Will be going back, and back again
A really friendly restraint with an extensive menu of northern Indian dishes. A little quiet on the Wednesday but I'd definitely return on a weekend. We were made to feel very welcome by the waiter and our food arrived at good time. Surprisingly good selection of wines for such a small restaurant.
Service was friendly and well timed, all four of us enjoyed our meals and wine was a good price. Great value overall, would visit again and already recommended the Gurkha's Inn to friends.
Another very tasty meal at Gurkha's Inn. It's worth the extra effort travelling from the center of Greenwich. Venue is warm, service unimposing and food delicious.
i love bhindi. it is sometimes called ladies fingers. i have travelled all over europe to find the best bhindi in the world. my personal favorite is in baba thaba in a town called Ludhiana in Punjab in north west india. i ate there on 28/08/97 and have never found a better cooked bhindi. however, the gurkha is a very close second. if only it was just a little more spicy and cooked in a little less oil. it is definately worth a try. i also love the peshwari naan. a lovely crumbly feeling in your mouth as the coconut and raisins melt and you have the sweetness of the naan with the savoury bhindi.another good dish is the chicken hariyo, a bit spicy, but if you like hot, tastes like a food eqivalent of the most wonderful orgassm...
I really liked the food, and the service was good and personable. I'll be going back.
This was my first visit to Gurka's Inn and hopefully, it won't be my last! The food was lovely, the potions were huge, even the starters. As a result, I was unable to finish my main course as I was so full! So I think in future I will just stick to a main.
Another enjoyable evening at Gurkha's Inn. Very tasty food and warm atmosphere. Best Indian in Greenwich.
Good food and polite service, the banquet is a great deal and very tasty.
Friendly staff, good to have complimentary popodoms and chutneys on arrival. Food was tasty and enjoyable variant on curries. We particularly liked the Momo (steamed dumplings). Very good value for money.
It was a great evening in Gurkha's Inn with my family and friend.Staff were friendly and helpful, food was with great quality and value enjoyed a lot .... Will be back soon!!!!!!
Tucked away in a little side street is this very cosy and delicious restaurant. Good value service and choice.by the number of take aways ordered popular too,
We had a dinner for two at the Gurkha's Inn. It was packed mostly with bigger groups so it seems like a fun place for birthdays or special occassions. Food was tasty, particularly the specialty dishes. I would recommend friends to go back if they lived in the area - otherwise it is quite far to get to from other parts of London.
The Gurkha's Inn in Maze Hill looks pretty awful from the outside but great reviews on toptable made me book anyway. Was a great meal with great service & great beer too! Atmosphere was cosy and warm. Price was not too bad as well. Came to £60 for three of us for three courses. Will be visiting again.
Great spot, booked a last-minute reservation here on Friday night - excellent food and house wine. Had been past many times and it always smelled good - glad we finally went. Nice to go somewhere slightly off the beaten path in SE10 also.
Best yet I think. The lamb saag was wonderfully tender and spiced perfectly.
Gurkha's Inn, Greenwich, offers the most creative and flavorful curries in all of London. A wonderful experience.
our favourite curry in Greenwich - never disappoints
Gurkha's Inn Greenwich is one of my favorite curry houses. Not your everyday curry, very different menu using great quality ingredients. May have to wait a little longer fo each course but worthwhile as all cooked to order. Also they are very helpful with changes to menu or recipe. Great Beer too. Tucked away so not always found easily.
