Gulliver’s hand-selected beef (corn-belt) is slow roasted in a unique patented oven system to assure flavorful, tender and juicy Prime Rib dinners. Gulliver's Restaurant is well known also for its other specialties as in-house aged Prime Steaks, Chateaubriand, Salmon, Rack of Lamb, Baby Back Ribs and roasted Long Island Duck.
As you walk into a Gulliver's you will feel as though you have entered back in time to 18th century England. Guests at the Gulliver’s are surrounded by a veritable museum of leaded glass pieces, pewter and ceramic objects, and a collection of prints from Hogarth, Rowlandson and other Gulliver’s Travels illustrators.
The Portions are huge, the service is gracious and friendly, and most importantly, the beef is cooked to perfection.
Gulliver's is place where memories are created.
The food was great as always! The decor need updating though
I always stop here while in town for work. Food is always good. Service can be spotty but always a good place to visit.
The service was very, very slow. Our food sat on a cart while the one waitress in our area tried to serve one entire room by herself. This resulted in one of our meals not being very hot but we’d waited so long, we didn’t send it back. A side dish was not served, had to be requested and was brought out after we were done ( it was comped ). Food was pretty good but service really killed the experience.
We enjoyed our lunch and being able to visit in such a pleasant atmosphere.
Love Gulliver’s, food & service.
We ordered the "Twilight Special" which was amazing! Food and service were excellent!
Everything was great, especially the creamed corn, would have loved seconds!!
Haven't been there in a while, but it's just as I remembered. Food and service was top notch. It was my girlfriend's first time there and she loved it. Two thumbs up!!
We had a larger party here for a birthday celebration. We had 3 young children in our party and they were very accommodating. The food was excellent and the server very attentive and nice. We overall had a great evening.
First and foremost, don't ever eat their escargot appertizer (over $10 for six tiny pieces). Instead of the expected famed succulent mildly crunchy snail meat smothered in butter and garlic baked in shells, it was a mushy mess that tasted like spoilt mushrooms in tiny ceramic cups covered with stale bread topping. It was difficult to eat more than one escargot so it's disappointing. Lessson learned: never eat escargot in a non-french restaurant.
The expensive stuff: Prime rib was OK but the filet mignon "with butter only" that we ordered came with an over-powering herbal garnishing that masked the taste of the beef. Couldn't really taste the beef but luckily they got the rare-medium-rare part correct.
Parking is plentiful, service is good and the restaurant was not crowded on a Saturday evening, so the rating is 3 stars. For good steaks, I recommend Paul Martin's and Wood Ranch at the Irvine Spectrum, both of which have great ambience and terrific steaks at good price.
We arrived and the restaurant was closed
Terrible that no one notified me
This was a big night for us on our vacation,
Very disappointing no one you or the restaurant let us know
Took us an hour to get there to realize the restaurant is closed do to plumbing issues! Ridiculous. A waste of time and gas just to expect the restaurant closed!!!
Everything was great. My prime rib was a bit overcooked and made the meat a bit tough but the sides made up for it. Would go again on a casual outing.
We were very unhappy with our Birthday dinner for my husband John. It was so warm and very uncomfortable. I mention it to the manager that night and he said it was hot for me to and I have to work. I wanted to say to him, yes, but you are not spending 200.00 for a Birthday dinner. I went into the bathroom, and the sink was about to overflow. I mention to the front hostess and she said WE KNOW ABOUT IT. Last year we were celebrating my husband Birthday, and again was told the air conditioning was not working. I forgot about it, but I will never forget about this year. I do not plan to return to Gullivers until something in done about the air. We have enjoying dinner for the last 20 years at Gullivers. We had many parties and dinners at Gullivers, when my husband was working at FLUOR. Our waitress that night was very nice and helpful. She was so HOT also. One more thing, my husband ordered the LARGE prime rib, and had to return it, it was not cooked right, He likes it rare, the one he sent back was rare on top, and well done on bottom. I also was very unhappy with the Halbert that night.
Been coming here for years. The portions a lot less this time. Service was good. But salads very small portions. Also the sides. Bread was old. Spend over $200. This time the worth it.
Prime rib was tough and overcooked (ordered medium). Not worth the $40.00 price.
Service was very good. For a Friday night at 7:00, you could shoot a cannon thru the place.
I think the high price has scared many patrons away.
service was beyond fantastic water glasses never empty and always asking what they could do for us. Food was excellent cooked the exact way we ordered .
I have been going to this gullivers for many years, more than 30.
I find the restaurant outdated somewhat tired with changes that were dissapointing.
Half a yorkshire pudding, no creamed spinach, etc.
Best prime rib in Orange County. We have dinned at Gullivers many times and we have never been disappointed. Excellent service with an acceptable price! Food quality and quantity is 5 star. Try it I guarantee you will enjoy your visit.
No more to say than great food and service
I had an old Groupon (over 1000 days expired) and they honored it!
The manager couldn't have been nicer.
They have a great old world atmosphere, and the best prime rib. We love to there for special occasions. AWESOME!!!!!!
Superb! Forgot how good this place is. Did not disappoint!!
Place smelled and looked very musty. Where we were sitting, there was heavy dust and cobwebs hanging low. Biggest issue was our server was not very professional. She at one point told customer next to us that they would have to wait because they were slammed. We were one of five other couples in dining room. Didn’t appear to be that busy to warrant this comment.
We ordered medium rare prime rib; we were served closer to well done. This might be because we were on the first ones to be served. Our meat were cut uneven, thick on one end and very thin on the other end. Looks like the recipe for au jus has been changed - now thicker and saltier not the original beef consommé like au jus. The cream corn and spinach were good, but the Yorkshire pudding is no longer light and crispy - heavy and doughy now. Our server was great, but the prime rib, which was the reason we went there, was disappointing. The quality of the meat was good, and tasted good; just not rare enough for us and served poorly.
Been dining there for many, many years and the quality and ambiance remain stable. Had not been for some time because I moved out of the area, but it remains warm and inviting.
Always a nice ambiance and great food! We come here on special occasions mostly, but I should come back here for nice lunch on a weekday!
We always enjoy Gulliver's. A very nice place to go when you want to splurge and enjoy with friends and family
Waitress and manager are both rude and arrogant. Prime rib is very good and very nice ambiance. Waitress should have been more attentive and stop talking with each other.
Our Server was Doreen she was lovely, The power went out in OC after we got our food so we ate by romantic candle light. They handled everything so perfectly.
Dinner at Gulliver's was a decent dining experience. We have been dining at Gulliver's occasionally for nearly 50 years and little has changed. The prime rib, Yorkshire pudding and creamed corn is a good as ever. I tried the BBQ combo and should have stayed with the "tried and true" prime rib. The BBQ combo was ok but not great. One in our party had the rack of lamb and found it very good. The price is somewhat high but not unexpected in Orange County.
Rib eye pepper crusted steak...DELICIOUS!
Our waitress Rochelle was very attentive. Throughout our dinner, she was constantly checking in on us to see how we were doing. Her recommendation for the soup of the day Mushroom Cappuccino Soup was on point. It was delicious. Also when my husband asked about the rack of lamb, she gave it a very good recommendation so he ordered it and ate it all. My son had the aged rib eye steak and thoroughly enjoyed it. This was his first time at Gulliver's and it won't be his last. It was my birthday so Rochelle brought me the Trifle for my dessert. Again it was very pleasant evening with great food, nice atmosphere and wonderful service thanks to Rochelle.
Very nice and relaxing place for a nice meal in a traditional style and environment. Richelle was a fantastic server and made excellent suggestions.
We were served by Rachelle at Table 153 from 5:30-7:30 pm celebrating our 9 year wedding anniversary. She made the dinner such a great experience compared to the last time we were there a couple of months ago. We had a "guy" waiter the last time we were there and he completely ignored us. We had to keep asking for water refills and had to try and flag him down every time he passed by.
Rachelle made it a romantic experience for my husband and I and made us feel like the last experience was a fluke. She was very attentive and kept the beer coming for my husband as he requested. We drove all the way down from LA County (Hacienda Heights) and I am glad that this experience was much better.
Salmon with mustard sauce and capers was delicious!
We were very pleased with the food and service .
What else is there? It was as we hoped it would be.
The only thing I’d highly recommend is to have a high quality coffee machine to make a real espresso coffee .
Otherwise it was lovely .
Prime rib slightly overdone but rest of food delicious
