Gulliver’s hand-selected beef (corn-belt) is slow roasted in a unique patented oven system to assure flavorful, tender and juicy Prime Rib dinners. Gulliver's Restaurant is well known also for its other specialties as in-house aged Prime Steaks, Chateaubriand, Salmon, Rack of Lamb, Baby Back Ribs and roasted Long Island Duck.
As you walk into a Gulliver's you will feel as though you have entered back in time to 18th century England. Guests at the Gulliver’s are surrounded by a veritable museum of leaded glass pieces, pewter and ceramic objects, and a collection of prints from Hogarth, Rowlandson and other Gulliver’s Travels illustrators.
The Portions are huge, the service is gracious and friendly, and most importantly, the beef is cooked to perfection.
Gulliver's is place where memories are created.
Food was delish and plenty of it. But the decor has not changed in 35 years it could use a refresh. At least new chairs they are pretty worn out.
Food was good. Service not so much. I think our waitress was way too busy and she forgot we were there.
The decor was original 1980’s ole tavern style. Ceiling had original asbestos tile that was stained. Clam chowder was Campbell’s potato soup with some clams and under cooked onions and celery. Did bring bread to the table. Had stuffed mushrooms with crab. Insides were cold and crab was not fresh. Had the specialty prime rib and wife had the lamb shank. Cream corn was good, prime rib was too salty, lamb was ok, spinach was good. Found the restaurant confused as to what it was trying to accomplish. Bar wench style costumes for the female servers in not appropriate in this day and age. I could have taught them how to make a better lamb, clam chowder and bread should be boudin sourdough. Update on the atmosphere and weird piped in music needs to change as well as tired menu.
Wow, this place has gone downhill quickly. It was my ‘go to restaurant’ for Prime Rib. The quaint atmosphere is still there. But, even the restrooms are in a sorry state. My food looked like it had been under heat lamps for about an 1/2 hour. The beef was ‘dry & tepid’. The Yorkshire pudding was burnt. And, the creamed spinach had a coagulated layer covering it. I’m shocked that they would even serve this dish. Needless to say, I won’t be ever going back.
I've been going to Gulliver's since 1974. The food Ambience and service has always been great!
We’ve been here before. Our server was excellent. The food very good. Our steaks were cooked to perfection. Moist and tender. The only down side was when the manager came by to check on us, I told him there was yellowish twig in my husband’s plate among the green beans. I’m not sure what it was but wanted to mentioned it in case other plates were brought out with the same problem. The manager told us that the yellow, hard pieces with knots that’s angular was an uncooked green bean!
Always so well taken care of. Food is always made to perfection and service is always 5 star.
We always enjoy our meals at Gulliver’s. We also enjoy eating at John Wayne’s table as it appears to be a quieter area
Yet another awesome meal at Gulliver's. In spite of the prie fixe menu for Mother's Day all of our favorites were well represented. We were seated within minutes of our reservation time, service was spot-on and the food, well, it's always good (right down to the creme brulee and congac).
We'll be back soon!
Overall good experience for Mother’s Day. However the waitress was very slow and rarely checked on us. When she did check on us Re has to remind her multiple times for refills or to bring us some hot sauce. Possibly since the 18% gratuity was guaranteed for our party of 7.
Great food, awesome staff. I recommend this place to everyone.
Very good for Mother’s Day
First, I was served half bad coffee cream, and yet their responce to it was very slow.
I always enjoy eating at Gullivers. Noise level is always a concern for me. In the past my partner and i were given a booth where noise level is manageable. But this time we were given a small table next to a big table that had a big family that was very noisy. The noise level was intolerable and it sort of spoiled what would have been an otherwise enjoyable evening at one of my favorite restaurants. The food and the service were excellent. I always order the prime rib which is outstanding.
There seemed to be some confusion at the front desk as we checked in. We had a reservation but for some reason others who got there after we did were seated before us. Perhaps there was some logical reason but it would have been nice to be informed as to what was going on. Also the checkin table is just a few few directly in front of the front door and it gets very crowded for those trying to check in and those that are waiting for their table.
Food and service were Excellent! Would recommend to everyone!
Go for the Prime Rib...always good with excellent side accompaniments of Yorkshire pudding, creamed corn, and spinach. This restaurant never disappoints.
This is currently my favorite place for prime rib . . . . always delicious
My wife and I went to Gulliver's for my birthday. We were planning on doing something other than prime rib, but as soon as you see the menu, it all changes and split a Gulliver's salad and each had the Gulliver's cut, prime rib with Yorkshire pudding, creamed corn and creamed spinach. So delicous and so much food we had to bring home have of our prime rib. When you want beef, Gullivers is the place to go.
Our waitress Rachel (I think ) was very gracious and helpful. Never rushed us but allowed us to "dine" instead of just eating. Wonderful experiece. One of our favorite restaurants and our go to place for prime rib.
Wonderful as always. Food is always great . The food is huge portions and very well prepared
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience; recently celebrating my husband's birthday!
Wonderful as always.
Outstanding service, polite and friendly staff. The hostess knew it was my mother’s birthday when we walked in as we were the first reservation of the evening. Mom was told happy birthday by several staff members repeatedly. A delightful evening.
Food and service is always exceptional
Excellent food and excellent service great atmosphere prime rib was cooked excellent
Exceptional as always! Superb customer service, quality food and a short wait time, with reservations.
We were just visiting the area and selected Gulliver’s just because of Open Table and proximity so we didn’t know what to expect. It was awesome! The prime rib and classic sides were amazing! Chef’s chicken and pork chops were devoured and loved. Classic, old school excellent service. Loved it!
Excellent on all levels. From the time we arrived to the time we left, we were treated like royalty. Love the Johnathan Swift motif.
My very favorite restaurant EVER! The best prime rib you've ever had with all the fixings. Impeccable service all around, and I can't wait until our next visit! Our waitress Rochelle was very friendly, informative, attentive to our every need - basically she was awesome!! The hostesses and bartender were great as well. This restaurant never disappoints!!
Waitress seemed to rush our service a bit...
Nice restaurant. Good for Easter brunch. Food was good, but it was a special brunch menu which isn't the most desireable. Have gone to Gulliver's for Easter the last 3 years. LIke it overall.
We had a delicious meal and overall great experience at Gullivers for Easter brunch. Will do it again net year!
Gulliver's for a last minute Easter Sunday Brunch was a great choice. Food and service were really outstanding. Both were much better than our last visit which itself was very enjoyable. Would definitely go back again soon!
One of our favorite resturaunts..Great food, service and ambiance. Join the birthday anniversary club for great discounts! With or without discounts wonderful place to dine! 5 Stars!
One of our favorite places for prime rib and such a great atmosphere food quality
Food seemed old. Bathroom needs updating and cleaning. Wine list is awful and has no vintages except for the extremely expensive wines. Really not the place that it was when I was younger.
The cream corn was the best part. The prime rib is too big and isn’t as good as other local places.
Overall, good experience. This night, however wait staff seemed short and our waitress was literally running from the kitchen to serve.
the service was excellent, but food and ambiance were not money worth.
excellent location with great food at reasonable prices. a long time at this location , almost 48 years and it was as good as it was our last time here 30 years ago. an iconic resturant worthy of visiting !
We always enjoy Gulliver’s. Our waitress was terrific, which made it even nicer.
