Guiso Latin Fusion
They called to let us know our table might not be ready at our reservation time and to recommend that I bring a blanket as it was a rainy evening and might be cold. I thought that was very thoughtful. The service was excellent and the food was fantastic! Although I did bring a blanket, we were very comfortable with the heat lamps.
This place is awesome! Every time I go to Healdsburg, I have to eat at Guiso. All the dishes are amazing, but my personal favorite is the paella. The chef is outstanding, and the service is excellent. This is currently my absolute favorite restaurant.
Chef Carlos has an outstanding palate! His recipe for empanadas is something you might see in a Michelin star restaurant, not only perfect flavors but exquisite presentation.
His staff also know exactly how to explain the food, this is what led me to try the empanadas and I’m so very glad i did.
The experience at Guiso is like finding those hidden gem restaurants that are on the cusp of being found out, given a Michelin star and then you can’t get in because they truly have earned their recognition.
Chef, you amaze me.
If you are Healdsburg you MUST have dinner at Guiso Latin Fusion. May it be as memorable as all of our have been over the years.
Amazing dinner. Lamb and Paella were amazing. Great dinner, service and friendly. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Absolutely love their food!! Always a great experience visiting
I would absolutely recommend Guiso! Friendly service and outstanding food. Their outdoor space was outfitted with tower heaters, so we were able to eat our dinner very comfortably. We enjoyed the fish tacos, camarones borrachos with the pan latino, and the paella. Every dish was wonderful, but the tacos were my favorite! The staff was absolutely lovely, and Guiso truly feels like a small, family business in the best way.
The food was perfection. Highly recommend the paella (it was a unique take on the dish -- a bit more saucy -- but was incredible). Service was outstanding, prompt, and friendly. Outdoor seating was surprisingly warm given that the ambient temperature the evening we were there was probably about 45.
Love Guiso. The food is fresh, homemade and AMAZING!
Maybe better dining outside than in. Carlos has done a great job of adapting to these Covid times. The food and service were what you would expect from one of the best 100 restaurants in America. Yes, Guiso won that award before the owner/chef’s 30th birthday. Amazing.
Wanting to have an early dinner with a friend before being with family at Thanksgiving, I wanted to have a special meal. My favorite way is to have mostly appetizers as app salad and entree and Carlos delivers. The food is truly spectacular and unique without being heavy. Just the best food delivers flavors of Caribbean spices along with unique flavors from papusas to extra large and juicy prawns in a rich red sauce like you’ve never had before. And the chocolate dessert somewhere between a pot aux crema and a mousse. With a carmelized sugar to crack on top. A must eat place.
Excellent food! A little bit of everything latinx with anaoverlay of Xentral American flavor.s. service was very attentive but not obtrusive. Will go back soon!
Delightful dinner with outstanding cuisine. The menu is diverse with a blend of options that will appeal to a wide variety of palates. Go and enjoy, you'll be happy you did.
Incredible.
Amazing! The food was incredible.
The staff was very welcoming and gave us the story of many popular dishes. The paella and steak were both absolutely amazing.
The service was totally perfect, even with covid restrictions. Perfect meal for an amazing weekend.
Love it there, highly recommended!
First...fantastic staff
Next...amazing food
Next...a must if you are visiting or living in or around Healdsburg
Great food. Every dish was amazing. I was not a huge fan of the desert so I would skip course.
My husband and I had dinner here on a cold night, so it wasn't the best weather for outdoor dining. We still really enjoyed our dinner. It was the first time we had eaten at a restaurant since March, and we appreciated the tables being well spaced out and the temperature check of the customers. Our waitress was very friendly and shared a little about the history of the restaurant with us along with her recommendations. We had the ensalada and pupusas to start, and then shared the paella. All of the food was wonderful and delicious. The paella is more like a stew/soup than a regular paella but it was full of seafood, sausage, chicken, and vegetables, with a great flavor that had just enough hot spiciness to be interesting.
Our girl gang celebrated our 2020 birthdays here since lock down prevented us from getting together. It was worth the wait to be spoiled by Chef Carlos and staff. Our server was a sweetheart and she explained the concept behind the menu in detail, creating a story for us. We received complimentary Cava to kick off the night and now have a new favorite bubbly. The paella was outstanding loaded with meat, seafood and vegetables. We also enjoyed Grandma’s sauce with the shrimp and house bread. They follow COVID guidelines and we felt safe and distanced from other diners. For dessert we each received scoops of delicious ice cream with candles plus a chocolate raspberry dessert that was divine. Totally unexpected but they made us feel really special. We will be talking about this dinner for years. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Healdsburg.
Best paella ever.
#1 Restaurant in Healdsburg, hands-down(and coming from a local). If you are visiting from out of town, or celebrating a special day, make sure you reserve a table here to get the best dinner experience.
Food: The paella , papusas, and sliders are to die for. Probably some of the best flavored dishes I've ever had. The Guiso sauce in the paella is incredible. Wish I had leftovers to enjoy later, but it's too good to not finish
Service: Amazing. They really take the time to explain each item on the menu and the family meaning behind it. They are extremely polite, and the COVID policies are excellent
Ambiance: The tables are nicely spread out, with string lights and heaters for the evening. It's a great place for a nice night out, that's off the main road.
A MUST visit in Healdsburg/Sonoma County.
So good we went two days in a row, and so did the table next to us! A local favorite as well. Most guests were locals, announcing to the hostess they were showing friends or family “the best restaurant in NorCal.” One local couple came right after getting engaged, while another local couple got engaged while there!
This is an absolute must visit. It was a bit of a drive from where we were staying in Sonoma, but it was worth every second. I don't really eat seafood of any kind, but the Camarones Borrachos and Paella were some of best foods I've ever had. The red sauce is truly unlike anything else I've ever had. The Asadito Argentino, Pupusas and Sweet Rolls were so, so, so good. My girlfriend, an avid seafood eater and foodie, said it was one of the best meals she's ever had in her life. I whole heartedly agree.
Very cute restaurants as well. The waitstaff was so helpful and attentive and you could tell they cared about this food and business. It seemed to be some family members of the chef/owner as well.
Again, an absolute MUST visit.
Once again, an absolutely outstanding meal. We were staying in Sonoma, but drove up just for dinner since it is soooo good.
Hands down the best restaurant in Healdsburg. Food is always consistently amazing. Small family restaurant run by a chef who is extraordinarily talented and passionate about food. Eat there - you won’t be disappointed!
Great food from a variety of countries with a twist. Very creative with great flavors. We just had a selection of the small plates which was more than enough. Also recommend the deserts.
Wonderful staff and creative food with a Latin flavor
The serving staff is exceptionally knowledgeable, friendly and professional. This restaurant takes Covid precautions seriously also. Thanks!
Was recommended during our visit but didn’t really live up to our expectations. Maybe I just don’t really like that kind of food as much
Everything is well thought out for the pandemic. Food was wonderful!
Wonderful staff, excellent food, they go out of their way to ensure you are taken care of.
Neighborhood gem!
We love Guiso! The employees are as friendly as they can be and the food is outstanding. It’s a family owned, small restaurant and it has become one of our favorites in town. You can’t go wrong with this place! But make a reservation, because they don’t have a lot of tables and it would be a shame to miss it! We’ll be going back soon!
We were blown away by our experience at Guiso!! From the service to the food everything was perfect. The flavor of every small plate we got was beyond anything we expected. The chef came out and said hello which was also a lovely nice touch. We'll definitely be back!! Oh and you can't miss the corn tortillas!!
Everything was great until it became rocky. We enjoyed the entire meal and even finished the paella even though it had tiny pebbles in it. Yes, that's how great the flavors were, but I definitely should've stopped and let the servers know since I could've easily chipped or cracked a tooth while eating. I'm not sure how the pebbles ended up in the dish, but I suspect the clams weren't purged correctly.
Exceptional. Great food, excellent staff & amazibg ambience!
Food and Service was fantastic!! One of the best meals I have had. Will definitely go back.
during Covid this was an exceptional dining experience outdoors. The service, as always was excellent. Presentation, flavors, uniqueness of dishes is 5 star! A personal touch to elegant Latin Fusion dining.
