Guiso Latin Fusion
Out of town visitors
Food and service was quite good. A little pricey but not too far out of line. I’d go back.
The shrimp small plate was excellent. Also, had the fish tacos small play and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The only negative was the atmosphere. The ceiling fan was right overhead and a bit too breezy for me.
Delicious food, awesome service, comfy ambiance.
It was amazing... very small place, 7 tables I believe. Service was excellent, the food was so good. The young chef took his grandmother’s recipes and twisted them slightly to create a great dining experience. Plates came out one afternoon the other, giving you time to experience each one. The wait staff, his sister was so wonderful and attentive to not just us but all the tables. The beauty of having only 7 tables. I highly recommend. Have the pupusas to start with and make sure you end with any of the deserts.....
Our visits to Guiso are always special because of the wonderful young folks that operate the restaurant. Easily the best restaurant in Healdsburg, or any other in the environs.
Fantastic chef owned restaurant! Tiny, so book early. Great food, wonderful chef and staff
The Asado was delicious with potatoes and the fennel salad. It is a bit on the expensive side - and more expensive than listed on line $64 + 8 for the potatoes. It was cooked perfectly and was fantastic with the salad. If you are sensitive to salt, ask them to go light on the seasoning.
We loved everything about this restaurant -- the story behind the family owned business, the grandmother and mom's influence in the menu, the brother's (owner/chef) commitment to follow the family recipes, the sister who was the server was so passionate about the menu and so proud of her heritage. The food was OUTSTANDING! and they also were able to change some items on the menu to make them vegan for me. I wish they would open a restaurant in Chicago!!!
Doesn't get much better than this: a young chef who is unusually imaginative with food, without being precious, and pays great attention to details and balance. Is certainly making his mark. Always a rare treat.
Amazing food and service. Very small and intimate space with young and energetic chef and staff. Food delicious, carefully prepared . It was fun to hear about the background of the chef and his recipes. Highly recommend Guiso, such a special experience.
The food is absolutely amazing. We had the prawns with guiso, a locally sourced fish and the steak with chimichurri sauce.
The steak absolutely melts in you mouth and the flavors of all the food were intense and unique.
There are only 7 tables so plan ahead since they are always full.
Fantastic experience. Highly recommend it.
Amazing food, excellent service. I love their Paella.
We had dinner while on family vacation. We got several things on the menu and shared. Everything was wonderful! So far this is our favorite vacation meal.
A delicious homage to Latin food in a warm, intimate space. The food is tasty and the presentation elegant. Bravo!
Wonderful, welcoming service and terrific food!
It is obvious why this restaurant gets 5 stars.
The food has the perfect amount of spices added to not overpower the meal having to use to much salt, pepper and hot spices.
Everyone who works there is family or friends.
Amazing, wonderful, flavorful. This is our new favorite date night spot. We really felt the passion the family puts into their food. We can’t wait to go back. Thanks for a great night and meal.
This is a spot that I love coming back to often. As a local, I have that opportunity! Carlos, the talented young chef, is from El Salvador and the business is a family endeavor. Carlos’ Mom comes in daily to make her special pupusas. Valeria, his younger sister is the enthusiastic hostess and server. Lovely wine list. I keep returning to some of favorites, like the bread fresh from the oven with herb butter. Each evening Carlos offers a fresh fish with coconut and I can’t resist! On my last visit he was using fresh Alaskan halibut. Wow. And he tops it with lime foam. Yum. Valeria’s service is outstanding and I will go back often and happily.
Family reunion dinner
Lived up to all the hype. Will definitely go back and recommend highly.
This family run restaurant offers an authentic dining experience. Creative menu options along with a thoughtful wine list offers a unique opportunity to taste a range of Latin flavors. Be sure to reserve early since seating is limited and in high demand. Highly recommend!
Really good food and really good service. I described the place to my gal who I had dinner with, as a "Kind of fancy and kind of homie all at the same time" - in a goodway! Nice creative flavor combinations without being too out there.
I recommend Guiso all the time and I always hear the best reports back. I have never had a single bad bite of food. Every morsel is perfect. The newest item on the menu is a burger Carlos recalls from his youth. A bribe to behave himself in church. His rendition of it is mouthwateringly good. Seriously, thinking about it 2 days later, my mouth is watering.
Guiso Latin Fusion was awesome! Amazing food, outstanding service, intimate dining experience. . .
This is the type of restaurant about which you will say, "I was there before they became famous." :)
Go with it. Food was great. Family owned and proud! It was nice seeing the enthusiasm and smiles from everyone there. Only sits 20 people and does look like much. Just eat
Every bite had multiple balanced flavors. It's a hidden gem
Guiso is a gem. The Latin fusion food was excellent. We shared the pan latino rolls, corn, and two entrees (Asado Argentino and Paella Caribena) between the four of us...plus Quesadillita con Helado for dessert. Plenty of food. The Paella is to die for...so good! Family run with really nice people.
An interesting menu, mostly small plates, perfect for sharing. The quality was outstanding. Every single thing we ordered was a hit. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Creative seasonal food with great flavor! Chef Carlos and his team are serving unique food in this small but comfortable Healdsburg restaurant.
Really loved this place. Food was wonderful and unique. Service was great. Small family feel.
Wonderful family owned restaurant a block off Healdsburg Square with delicious Latin American flavors. We had mama's pupusas and their version of paella. Both delicious! Will return!
A bit expensive...
Great food; great service - wonderful chief
Guiso continues to be one of our favorite restaurants in Healdsburg. Delicious food and great service.
Family run, food made with care. Should be a bib gourmand
Carlos is a fabulous Chef! The flavors, quality and presentation is outstanding!
This place was amazing. Loved hearing the stories behind the food. Clearly a labor of love. If you go, you must get something with their grandmother’s Guiso sauce. It was phenomenal. Easily the best meal we’ve had on our trip to the wine country so far. Highly recommend.
Delightful restaurant! Food was excellent and original
Guiso Latin Fusion is ALWAYS a charming experience...the family is warm, welcoming and attentive. We had to wait a bit for our reservation, but they were kind enough to comp each of the four of us a glass of champagne...such a thoughtful touch. The food is simply outstanding!!
