Guiso Latin Fusion
Great food experience
Guiso is our favorite place in H’burg. Such flavorful food and cozy/friendly environment. Keep up the great work!
Absolutely amazing. Family owned and operated.
The food was very creative but I can't say this was the best meal ever. We started with two appetizers and finished with the Paella. The Sliders were good but not awesome the Paella was very flavorful but the chicken pieces were very tough. The tables are very close together and there was a table for two next to us and a table for 6 next to them. The table for 6 was extremely noisy but I can't blame that on the restaurant but it does detract from the meal.
In San Francisco for a week and then Sonoma for 2 days and NAPA for 2 days - we ate in many fine restaurants - this meal was hands down the best! Great service. Delicious food - the flavors were amazing! If we lived in this area we would be back every week!!
Always a nice meal & nice wines. I was smart and booked my reservation 2 weeks in advance. I had the fresh fish of the day, mahi mahi and it was awesome. Also started with momma’s papusas and green, fresh fresh salad. Can always count on freshness and lots of flavors. Come here when you’re tired of eating out cuz everything tastes the same!
Carlos and his crew rock it!!!!!!
Great night and great service tho we arrived before reservation time we had to wait for our table>15 min
Well worth the wait for a great meal n wonderful server!
Our dinner at Guiso Latin Fusion was a fantastic experience from start to finish. It is a tiny restaurant with very few tables, but it feels like sitting in someone's house watching them cook.
The food was incredible, especially the fish tacos. The four of us shared most of the appetizers and many of the entrees. All of it was delicious -- including the shrimp with potatoes and the rolls with Meyer lemon olive oil.
The staff was incredible. They treated us like family and the chef and owner was cordial and friendly.
If there was any criticism, the wine list was so so. Since you are in wine country, you expect better selections, but it wasn't bad.
Would go back there in a heartbeat.
Absolutely delicious meal! We were four people, ordered 8 starters to share and that made our dinner. The sauces were flavorful without being spicy hot, presentations were lovely, and there was a variety of choices. Service was delightful, efficient and friendly. It was a Friday night (two of us were celebrating a birthday that day) so the small space was packed with happy diners and very noisy. I will definitely go back, though might aim for a Tuesday or Wednesday. Highly recommended!
Great service, food was all very flavorful and well presented, and we loved the intimate setting.
My dinner at Guiso was exceptional. Guiso is a family owned and managed restaurant. The cuisine and service is delivered with pride and passion. The Chef is the owner and is delightful sister is the hostess and server. The flavors were amazing and each course was indeed a fusion of Latin and California dishes.
This lovely little gem in Healdsburg was a memorable dining experience for so many reasons. Tiny but the space is well thought out. It is a restaurant where you feel the love from the moment you walk in and until you consume the last delicious bite. Flavorful fresh and beautifully presented. Each dish a mouth watering delight. Although small, Their menu catered to both my husband’s meat eating and my more pescatarian ways. Speaking of that the camarones were tender and perfect with the family sauce made by their grandmother. We will make this a regular dining experience on our frequent visits to Healdsburg. The finishing touch was the bread dessert. A perfect finish. Nice wine selections too.
A great spot. Intimate and inviting. Chef came over and checked on our meal. A wonderful evening!!
We loved this family owned quaint restaurant. There are only 7 tables and an open kitchen to watch them cook your meals.
The chef’s sister Valencia was our waitress and gave us the history on all the dishes on the menu as well as the wine we picked. She was just adorable.
We will definitely be back. The food and service were wonderful.
Food was amazing from start to finish. Waitress was cute and attentive. Clearly the food is made with a lot of love and passion. Highly recommend.
Carlos and his family have created a neighborhood gem in Healdsburg. His Salvadoran cuisine was so superb that we returned to dine two nights later! His family serve the dishes; his mom prepares some of the food. This family affair is a winner!
Wonderful food, great family story!
We were a party of four from out of town for a long weekend. It is a small place. Friendly and attentive. Chef came out to talk to us and explain the menu. We tried the first four starters to share and then shared the paella. Each dish had great flavor and we enjoyed all of them. Would definitely go back.
Tiny restaurant with unique and savory dishes (we had the small plates) and fabulously attentive personal service by the chef/owner's fiancee. On target recommendations on the Popusa and the camarones borachos. The desert, called quesadilla, is NOT the Mexican cheese appetizer. Try it, wonderful
We have been here few times and it is a favorite spot, small and neighborhood style. Would recommend to anyone.
I LOVE GUISO LATIN FUSION!! The food is excellent. The servers are family members who are gracious, well informed about the food and give you the family back story on different dishes. They serve creative Latin foods with a California spin. Local fresh produce, fresh fish and creative vegetarian dishes. We come here for special ocassions or just whenever we can. The place is small and the tables are close together. Thus, the noise level is pretty high when the room is full. Reservations are a must as it is obvious locals love this spot and come here often. Patrons are greeted warmly and often hugged good bye by the chef. Those are the frequent , local diners. Don't miss eating here!
Chef Carlos has a creative spin on Salvadoran cuisine, with beautiful, aromatic presentations of family favorites. The prawns and fingerling potatoes small plate was rich in a smoky anchiote sauce; the fish tacos were brilliant as were the handmade smoky tortillas; and the paella, while a bit pricey, was rich with prawns, fish of the day, clams, chorizo, and slivers of fresh vegies, resting above a smattering of rice. It was very much more like a fish stew than a ricey dish. Extraordinary flavors. Sister Valeria, the principal server, explained the menu and history of the dishes in a manner that brought you into their family. What a treat! Decent and fairly priced wine list, with wines by the glass, as well. Can't wait to return.
This is our third visit and we will return again. Fantastic experience all the way around. A real gem in Healdsburg.
A well run restaurant serving outstanding food. We will return again many times
The best restaurant in Healdsburg which is saying a lot!
Eileen was knowledgeable, adorable, friendly and attentive. Chef Carlos and his team did a beautiful job with the tasty and varied dishes that were served. Outstanding experience
Nothing could have been better. Young lady who served us was very informative and well spoken. Everyone was very friendly and appeared happy and enthusiastic about the place. Would definitely go back.
This family-owned neighborhood gem is my new favorite Healdsburg restaurant. The food is incredible and different than your typical wine country fare. Small, lovely and very special.
Lovely little family run restaurant. The pupsas, which are made by Mama, are delicious. Latin/Caribean paella is also very tasty.
This is a family business that we should all be supporting. Great food, friendly people. Menu includes items made by grandma...that should say it all. Enjoy
Guiso is a very intimate and special experience. The chef and his family run the small latin fusion restaurant. Servers were very attentive and explained all the dishes. The brussel sprouts were surprisingly our favorite. The rice porridge dessert is the only item I wouldn't recommend. It was good, just a bit basic. The price is very reasonable as well. I highly recommend!
Wonderful food, great service, intimate (small) ambiance. We'll be back.
The Guiso family and their Latin Fusion restaurant are Healdsburg treasures. Do not miss Chef Carlos' take on paella.
What a find! We absolutely LOVEd this place. Can’t wait to go again.
delightful hosts, delicious food and the warmest little location. Don’t miss it. Great to see and support young business owners so enthusiastic about what they do and so caring of how they do it.
Such a lovely experience. Our sever did a great job explaining everything. The food was delicious. Very accommodating.
Everything was very fresh and tasted wonderful. I would highly recommend!
As all the other reviews rave about the service, I would have to agree. I felt like they really cared about all their customers and did all they could to make us happy. We even met the chef, and what a truly nice group of people (family and friends) that he put together to make this place a reality. And only 27 years old...
The only reason I didn't give it all 5 stars is because some of the dishes were too salty for me. Maybe it's the healthy, boring California cooking without lots of salt that I am used to. It would have been perfect if there was something to eat alongside the dishes that were too salty for me. I did take some home to enjoy the next night (I cooked some starch to counteract the saltiness). Other than my own tastebuds the place was wonderful and we will definitely be back next time we are in Healdsburg. Hope they stay small and intimate and enjoy their little jewel box restaurant for a long time!
What a gem! We had a lovely meal and tried many dishes, all delicious! We’ll be back.
