I had the carnitas, which were excellent and a friend had an octopus dish that was astonishing.

I waited until our second visit to leave a review, because our first experience was so good, I wanted to see if it would be repeated. Guillermo's is consistently good, from the table salsa to the enchiladas and the seafood. To avoid surprises, it helps to engage the waiter about the specialness of some of the Michoacan dishes, which try to stay true to the nature of the cuisine of the Mexican state. This is as authentic Mexican as we have enjoyed in the area, with care taken in the preparation and serving of the dishes. Guillermo, the owner, was welcoming and knowledgeable, stopping at our table each time we visited. It's the personal touch that helped to make our dinners special.

My 3 year old grand daughter, my son and his wife were visiting and I wanted to bring them to eat at Guillermo’s. Everything was good except the service. It took us 50 minutes to get our food! The server was great and it wasn’t her fault! I was disappointed in the time especially with a 3 year old.

Very impressed. A drink wasn't quite right, found the problem and they corrected it right away. They cared enough to correct it. Thank you!

Drinks were spilled on one of our party by accident and the server handled the situation extremely well. The food was very good and we relied on the server’s recommendations and he steered us in the right direction

We reserved a table in the restaurant for dinner at 6:00.
We got there at 5:00 and had happy hour Margaritas in the bar first.
The margaritas (served in lovely glasses)and food were good.

Nice evening! We'll be back.

This restaurant really has it together. Snappy service, amazing food and nice ambience. We will keep coming back to enjoy the experience. Easy to recommend this restaurant to those family and friends who have not been there yet.

This was our first visit to Guillermo's and we will be back again soon. The menu covers a wide range of choices and it was a little overwhelming so we asked our server for recommendations. He recommended Carnitas Michoacanas and the three of us decided to go with that choice. It was AMAZING. It was tender, moist and tasty. In addition, our server was attentive and all our needs were met. Overall it was a great experience. Highly recommend Guillermo's.

Fabulous food and service. Our waiter even found our credit card which had somehow fallen under the table! Many good and unusual choices on the menu. We will return next time we are in Palm Desert.

I relish the variety of {Mexican] restaurants here in the Coachella Valley; but kudos must go to serving local food ingredients FRESHly prepared. Not one part of the dishes prepared came from cans. Warm salsa was a treat as well. I'm not used to white tablecloth service at lunch with Mexican fare - but I could get used to it quickly. Excellent service ups the game to almost fine dining at the noon hour. Family management on site as well. First time customer but will be a regular as of now.

New restaurant in the El Paseo area. Let me tell you, this place is awesome. The periquitos rellenos for an appetizer were superb, as was the traditional, very fresh, guacamole. I had the Carnitas Michoacanas that were just over the moon good. A nice Modelo Especial to top of a great meal. This place is where it's at and we will be back often. 10 out of 10 good.

Just average mexican food. Nothing we had was special. Margaritas were watered down and I would rate them as the worst of any we have had in this area. All this said, the ambiance is great. So, if you want a very nice environment and just ok food and drink, this is your place,
Given the choices of good mexican food we have in the area, I doubt we will be back.

Don’t go to Guillermo’s for their tacos, fajitas, or enchiladas. I’m sure there good, but you’ll be missing out. Do go for their authentic, regional Mexican cuisine, favoring preparations from Michoacán, where the owner, Guillermo, is from. This family-owned and operated business serves up some of the finest Mexican food I’ve had outside Mexico and a certain five-star restaurant in Chicago. I liked it so much, I returned a second night for more. The first night, my spouse and I shared the Ensalada De Jicama Con Pepino, a jicama and cucumber dressed with a tasty vinaigrette and chili powder. We tried two entrees. One was the Camarones Ixtapa - a delicious preparation of smoked tuna, shrimp, and octopus sautéed with onions, chili poblano, chili guajillo, and mojo sauce. The other was the amazing Molcajete (Plato Azteca). Served in a scalding hot clay pot, this stew includes grilled beef, chicken, chorizo, and panela cheese. Served bubbling hot, It’s a delectable combination of heat and savory ingredients. The second night, I tried the Filete De Cameron Al Cuervo - tequila-marinated shrimp wrapped in bacon and served with garlic mojo sauce. There is much, much more to try.

The staff is welcoming, the bartender, Mario, is knowledgeable of their very large selection of tequila and mezcal, and Guillermo’s son serves as sommelier.

Put this amazing restaurant on your to-do list for the Palm Springs area.
