Guild Tavern Ratings and Reviews
We started with Poutine and local bread. Both were excellent! We shared the steak and shrimp and that was also good. It was served with mashed potatoes and veggies. The Red blend wine was also great.
The restaurant was not too crowded and it was nice watching the open kitchen.
Restrooms were clean and wait staff attentive.
Never been before and had seen on MSN that it is the best steakhouse in Vermont. Decided to treat my in laws for their 50th wedding anniversary. Very good choice. Service was impeccable. Food was even better. Served a plate of leftovers to my buddy the next day. Needless to say, we're taking him there for his 50th birthday in December.
Our bartender and waitress were both extremely accommodating to our variety of requests, and relaxed timing. The bartender willingly looked up the ingredients for a classic cocktail that we requested. Our waitress was patient and helpful as we took our time with several appetizers and our main course. A great and comfortable evening.
This Restaurant was a bit of a surprise on the outside the Guild name just didn't go with the Ponderosa looking building.. The inside was very clean and open and you could watch the chef preparing your meal in the center kitchen area.
The service and the staff were great and the food was outstanding. Oysters were fresh and we loved that they had some from Canada and some from Massachusetts.
The Steak and Shrimp dinner was delicious and the brisket was very good. The prices were very reasonable and we will be recommending the Guild to all of our friends traveling to Northern New England.
For a table of two you always get seated as an afterthought. Once we changed tables...at our request...and the attention of the hostess ... the setting was nice. The service was unfortunately so so and the prices were over the top.
Overall a big disappointment.
We were a party it 8 with 2:00 reservations. We were seated, placed our drink order and told we could go to the buffet anytime. There were less than 8 shrimp , no French toast , no frittata,no benadicts of either kind! We asked when we could expect the buffet to be restocked and received very vague responses
The food was very good and an excellent variety of options on the Mother's Day buffet. There were numerous tables with young children that were loud and wandering away from their table. While it was definitely Mother's Day brunch, it would be nice if families with older or no children could be seated in a less rowdy area. It was difficult for the elderly in our group to hear the conversation.
Our server was very friendly! This is a very good place and I would recommend it with the caveat that it is not a quiet place on Mother's Day.
