Guild Tavern Ratings and Reviews
My boyfriend and I were a little set off on the price of the meals, but the food, service and overall experience was worth every penny!
We were sat over in a corner spot, felt very private. Ordered the rib eye dinner for two. I had a special drink made by the bartender that was very refreshing!
We would go again for sure. The only bad thing is the price. But again, it really was worth it.
As we waited for our guests to arrive we ordered onion rings as an appetizer and we were so unimpressed with the lack of sause and small portion. They also for the high price were fair at best. Much better onion rings at Texas Roadhouse or Outback Steakhouse for half the price. The ambience and service were very good but when our friends arrived we decided to bolt and go somewhere else. It is my opinion that the place is overpriced but I will have to be fair and say that a good place with high prices should make sure that the appetizers are top notch cause that experience made us leave before we could give them a fair review.
The filet and the ribeye were the best I've ever tasted.
The food had so much flavor. I understand why the
prices are so high but it will have to be a special
occasion place for us rather than a place we go often.
They do have other offerings that aren't as pricey but
once you have the filets you will crave that flavor. You
probably won't order steak anywhere again.
This is a boisterous yet sophisticated place to bring a bunch of friends or co-workers for great drinks, apps and entrees. One should understand that things are somewhat pricey but what you are paying for is meat and other ingredients of the highest quality and freshness that you can't get anywhere else. The cocktails are fantastic as are the desserts. The staff is very customer oriented and a lot of fun. Our server had a great sense of humor and was super responsive and helpful. The menu is quite creative and the burgers are outstanding. Oh and they have two fireplaces you can request a table near.
I've eaten at the Guild Tavern/Guild & Company a number of times and been pleased enough to continue returning. However, my Steak Sandwich (first time I tried it) was a disaster - a too thick gravy overpowering a somewhat tough pile of overdone and tasteless beef product on a doughy roll. Sides were well prepared, well presented and tasty. Service was very good.
Just a wonderful place to be. The waitstaff is well versed with a things menu. There was no rush even though we were a party of 6 on a Saturday night. Great selection of beverages. Presentation was lovely. A great way to celebrate someone special or just to get your fix of fine meats!!!
I found the food was good, but I didn't find it special. The dishes were simple, and I was expecting more flavors and uniqueness for the price of the food. A really nice restaurant however, and the ambience with the fireplaces makes it warm and cozy. I ordered the salmon, it could have had more flavor. I also tried the meat dish with the mashed potatoes and the crab cakes, it was good.
The food is ok/decent, but not spectacular. The combination dinners are overpriced, as are many menu items. The tiny (maybe 3 oz.?) steak with a few small shrimp with a half cup of vegetables and watery mashed potatoes does not warrant a $29 price tag in this market.
I traveled from Albany NY for a special dinner with my son and his girlfriend. They reside inSouth Burlington.
The ambiance was wonderful and the food and service even better. I can't wait for my next visit. The fillet of beef could be cut with a fork. My son loved it.Thank you.
We have tried the high end items and during our recent visit we selected lower priced items. The first visit we were seated in a booth which was too small for our party. The restaurant was not busy at the time. The steak for two was very good, however, it was a small portion for two hungry steak eaters. Additionally, we were not given spoons for our side dishes so we waited a while to eat them, The second time we went we waited a long time for a burger that was cooked medium well instead of medium as orderd. The fries were a bit limp. The mushroom sauce for the sliced steak sandwhich was bland. With the high prices and all great competition in Burlington, including the restaurant groups's own Farm Table, we will hesitate to dine here again.
Overall I was satisfied with my experience, the wait staff being main reason for this. We had numerous people tending to our table all of whom were excellent.
My first criticism is the atmosphere. I was expecting relaxed and more intimate environment. Unfortunately it was a bit loud. I often had to talk over the diners around us.
The food also left a bit to be desired. We both ordered the Mixed Grill dinner (Steak w/Salmon). It was cooked well and tasted alright, but didn’t achieve the same level that other establishments in the area have met.
Would I return, possibly, however most likely not. For the price, atmosphere, and food I feel the money is far better spent a few minutes down the street in Downtown Burlington.
Guild Tavern was great! I went there with my boyfriend for a belated Valentine's dinner (our first), and we had an amazing time. We enjoyed some of their cocktail menu, oysters, their ribeye, and salmon. ALL were insanely delicious, great presentation, and all served with kind, thoughtful service and great ambiance. The manager even knew we were coming in for a special occasion and kindly seated us by the fire - it was lovely. Thank you! We'll be back!
I have never had a bad meal at The Guild. It's pricey but not so much that it's a once a year type of place. They have a menu that can keep most people within their budget. Food is simply amazing. I have had the steak and the burgers. Both cooked perfectly and the fries that come with the burger are some of the best I have ever had (and burgers and fries are my go to meals). Cocktails are great. They make some of their own stuff for the cocktails. Beer list is great, as it is with all of the farmhouse group restaurants. You can go wrong. I drag out of state friends to either The Guild or to The Farmhouse and they always leave wanting to come back.
Food as always was delicious. Last visit we were disappointed with the waitress but not so this time. She was attentive but not hovering, friendly and made us feel like she was glad we came. Only downside is the high noise level, we actually went for dinner early to avoid the noise but within 30 min restaurant was filling up and the noise level really jumped. Only downside to this place
I highly recommend The Guild, excellent food and great service. The only negative thing I would say is they don't include a veggie with the entree, they only offer one side and for the price I think a veggie could be included.
It's a little pricey (but worth it!) ... just make sure you prepare yourself for the bill. :)
Great restaurant. I was very happy to go here for Valentine's Day. We shared the tasting menu forbtwonwhoch included a salad, fired artichoke hearts, a 30oz rob eye, and chocolate mousse cake for dessert. Everything was wonderful and the service was excellent.
Guild is by far our favorite restaurant for special occasions. The ambiance is cozy. We have been seated by the fireplace twice now and felt as though we were the only people there. The wait staff is stunningly professional and extremely attentive. The food is out of this world. We highly recommend Guild to anyone who is looking for a fine dining experience; there is nothing like it in the area!
