Our go to restaurant! Highly recommend 😊
I particularly enjoy the Guild when celebrating special occasions. I took my close friend out for dinner to celebrate a recent accomplishment and they sat us in a booth in the corner at 5 p.m. We had planned on going to a movie but the company, ambiance, food, cocktails were so good that we ended up staying almost 3 hours. Instead of making us feel guilty for holding the table so long, the staff and host were so kind and happy that we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! That meant everything to me and I know I'll be back on the next special occasion. Well done!
The whole dinner was overpriced. Salad was good but way too much money. Don’t think I’ll be back.
My wife and I were extremely impressed with the service, the food and the atmosphere!
It was a great experience for us.
Great night out with my lady, as always.
It pains me to write a mediocre review because normally this place delivers. We were seated promptly and our drinks arrived quickly. Our server seemed rushed when she took our order (appetizers and main dish). (There was a good crowd but the floor was far from filled). We waited and waited for our appetizers and after about 20 minutes our waitress came by the table and asked us if we had ordered an appetizer...uh, yeah. No big deal, we figured it would be out shortly. Another 15 minutes passes and our main meal is delivered by a different waitress. Another 10 minutes passes (we are well into our meal) and then the appetizers finally come out...again, a different waitress. We informed her they were appetizers and we didn’t want them any more. She puts them in the table anyway and says she will find our server. Our original server avoided us like the plague for the rest of the night. No apology for the appetizer snafu or for abandoning us...nothing. We even had to give our check to a different waitress because our server was no where to be found. The icing- we were charged full price for everything. I know this experience was a fluke, as we have had great meals at this place, but this was our most recent experience, unfortunately, and certainly not worth the price paid.
Great evening dining on a weekday. Service was amazing!
Great food. One of our go to places when we visit Burlington!
Great food and amazing service. Thanks you!!
We happened to be in town and had found the Guild Tavern online. My husband and I loved the decor, the food and the service. If we were on town again we would definitely return.
Food portions are very small. Meat very salty and under cooked.
After I left The Guild I thought about the reviews and I feel most of them where spot on. As I read them I wondered why a lot of them focused on the decor and not the food. After I left the restaurant I understand why. For some reason the decor takes away from the whole experience. Its not terrible but does not have the "wow" facture that accompanies such dishes and pricing in which they serve. If you would place the same menu/food in a different setting I do beleive the restaurant would get even higher reviews. Now the food, it is pricey but most of the menu is locally sourced and the menu is limited but I do believe there is something for everyone. The chicken wings were excellent but I felt they where slightly salty. I do not eat a lot of meat or salt my food so it could have been me because everyone else raved about them. The spinach artichoke dip and the crispy bread slices that accompanied it was also excellent. I had the salmon, the portion itself seemed on the small side when it arrived. It was cooked perfectly and overall I was content when I finished. I would recommend the salmon if you eat salmon. My company had the chicken sandwich and the burger special. Both were excellent and cooked as requested. The service was great. The drink menu was big and had a lot of great choices. None of us had steak/beef which I think they may pride themselves on. It is a bit pricey $44-46/dish but I do beleive that its the average price for quality steak. If you are not a big meat eater I would not recommend the Guild. It only had slmon as an alternative which I love but there was not many other selections. They did offer salads which was a selection for one in our party. The greens where very fressh and it was dressed perfectly. The salads had a choice to have a piece of salmon with it, the piece of salmon that accompanies the salad was a larger portion. Overall I would recemmend the Guild but I would recommend reviewing the menu and pricing before visiting.
We always have a wonderful time at Guild Tavern. Burgers on Sunday are delicious.
We had a lovely time, four course meal over four hours, cocktail, wine, dessert, after dinner drinks. All on point and the bartender was super pleasant (didnt get her name, but she has been working there about 3 months). Thanks for a great night out!
Had 2 drinks, 2 steaks, and 1 dessert. Everything was perfect. Just dont know if it was $140 perfect. Good to be saved for a special occasion
Took my partner here for a date. The drinks are top notch, they really have experienced bartenders working there. The food is very good as well. It's more of a meat and potatoes type restaurant but they did have vegetarian and 1 or 2 vegan options as well. Nice place and fairly fancy.
Our Entree’s did not come out in a timely manner... we heard a platter full of food crash onto floor so I’m assuming they had to redo our order.
Excellent ambiance and food.
We were given this recommendation from a friend as somewhere close to airport while doing a multi person run. The food was delicious!! I ordered the Gnocchi and had them add a 5 oz steak to the order and it was an amazing meal. I have already recommended to another out of town we friend who will be traveling there and we will be back.
Great venue with exciting dishes combined with excellent steaks!
Always, always great! Roasted veg were awesome and greens were garlicky perfection! Even a lovely unoaked Chardonnay on the list, a nice change of pace from Sauvignon Blanc. The back room could use a touch more decor love, but that is hardly a reason not to go! Thanks!
Great food and great decor. Was a great meal and awesome drinks. Would definitely go back again. Smokehouse/ Bbq joint with some high-end dishes that make your mouth water. The decor is great with lots to take in and a great ambiance.
Wonderful night celebrating my daughter’s birthday. Fantastic service. A real treat. I love the Guild.
I would definitely recommend Guild Tavern to friends for an enjoyable dining experience or just an evening out for drinks. The food and ambiance was exceptional and the waitstaff were very helpful and responsive.
Overall great experience
Great service and outstanding food. 8 diners enjoyed their dinners immensely. Also nice to have such easy parking.
We enjoyed our meal here. It was a spur-of-the-moment birthday celebration as we had just flown into the Burlington airport which is a 5 minute drive away
Food and service were both great
Guild Tavern provided an excellent venue for a friendly business dinner. The staff and food were phenomenal, and we will definitely be going again for events both professional and personal.
A nice casual dining spot. Highlights were the spinach artichoke dip and flourless chocolate torte. The ricotta gnocchi was tasty but the portion size was very small. The Laplatt farm beef burger was good, but VERY under done (rare) and the grilled onions were raw. This may be due to the Sunday burger special ($4 off all burgers), so they were the item of the night. Lots of burgers flying off the grill, so asking how you wanted it done was probably just a pipe dream.
Overall, it was a decent casual place for a low key 'back to school' dinner.
Oh, and one more note. Their 'by the glass' chardonnay offering is unoaked. Who does that? You already have a pinot grigo, sauvignon blanc, chenin blanc and your house grenache blanc. Put some oaky butter on your menu already!
Always a wonderful time sat Guild Tavern! We came for poutine and burgers this time, they were both great the burgers were cooked perfectly. Our favorite dessert is the crème brûlée, it’s our favorite in Burlington!
Service was friendly, not rushed, efficient.
Drinks offered were creative. Martini wonderful. Food was attractively plated and delicious as well. Many choices for dessert also. Four friends sat and chatted a while after dinner and were not rushed out.
Overall it was a good experience. There was some holes in the service that is more attention to detail then the basics. For example water glasses stayed empty for quite a period and never asked if another soft drink was needed. Im sure they are not refills but all the same never asked if I would like another. They dont let alcohol stay empty but that has more attention cause it helps add to the bill. Also just received salads when the appetizer ordered arrived with it. This is not what I expect for food spacing from a restaurant of this class. I can honestly say that the flavor of the steak I could do myself or get at other restaurants for a lower cost then what we paid here. The steak was good I just wasn't blown away with it for the cost. I would go again but more for those special occasions which you do provide a great atmosphere for.
I love the Guild the first time I was the a few years ago, It was one of the best meals I had dining out it a very long time. However I feel the quality seems to have gone down. I had the NY Strip... The cook was good, but the favor wasn’t there and felt disappointed and let down... Paying over 100.00 per person I feel that value is not there- I am happy to pay for a great meal with great service... Sadly, this not what we received...I will have to think hard about returning- Sadly, we can only rave about the first we dine at the Guild We have dine there half dozen time the past few years and frankly, it has never measured up to our first experience.
The food and service was amazing! As always! We have never been disappointed!
Often go for special occasions, especially when our grown children are visiting as they love this restaurant. We have eaten here several times to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries and have never been disappointed. The drinks are definitely amazing. Steaks are great. Just a bit expensive for VT.
It all starts with excellent bread and butter. Crunchy
crust and chewy center plus delicious butter. Why is that so hard for some restaurants? We all ordered basically shrimp or steak plus fries. All was tasty and hot and perfectly prepared. They even serve housemade ketchup, which was tomato-y and an extra treat.
Definitely in my top 5 restaurants in the greater Burlington area. Actually probably my #1 choice. Always guaranteed a delicious meal, fantastic cocktails, and great service. You can't go wrong with The Guild.
Excellent service and food as always!
Start to finish everything was great, very little wait time for drinks apps and food. Everything was delicious! Wait staff were great.
