   I particularly enjoy the Guild when celebrating special occasions. I took my close friend out for dinner to celebrate a recent accomplishment and they sat us in a booth in the corner at 5 p.m. We had planned on going to a movie but the company, ambiance, food, cocktails were so good that we ended up staying almost 3 hours. Instead of making us feel guilty for holding the table so long, the staff and host were so kind and happy that we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! That meant everything to me and I know I'll be back on the next special occasion. Well done!

   It pains me to write a mediocre review because normally this place delivers. We were seated promptly and our drinks arrived quickly. Our server seemed rushed when she took our order (appetizers and main dish). (There was a good crowd but the floor was far from filled). We waited and waited for our appetizers and after about 20 minutes our waitress came by the table and asked us if we had ordered an appetizer...uh, yeah. No big deal, we figured it would be out shortly. Another 15 minutes passes and our main meal is delivered by a different waitress. Another 10 minutes passes (we are well into our meal) and then the appetizers finally come out...again, a different waitress. We informed her they were appetizers and we didn’t want them. She puts them in the table anyway and says she will find our server. Our original server avoided us like the plague for the rest of the night. No apology for the appetizer snafu or for disappearing...nothing. We even had to give our check to a different waitress because our we could not find our waitress. The icing- we were charged full price for everything. I know this experience was a fluke, as we have had great meals at this place, but this was our most recent experience, unfortunately, and certainly not worth the price paid.

    After I left The Guild I thought about the reviews and I feel most of them where spot on. As I read them I wondered why a lot of them focused on the decor and not the food. After I left the restaurant I understand why. For some reason the decor takes away from the whole experience. Its not terrible but does not have the "wow" facture that accompanies such dishes and pricing in which they serve. If you would place the same menu/food in a different setting I do beleive the restaurant would get even higher reviews. Now the food, it is pricey but most of the menu is locally sourced and the menu is limited but I do believe there is something for everyone. The chicken wings were excellent but I felt they where slightly salty. I do not eat a lot of meat or salt my food so it could have been me because everyone else raved about them. The spinach artichoke dip and the crispy bread slices that accompanied it was also excellent. I had the salmon, the portion itself seemed on the small side when it arrived. It was cooked perfectly and overall I was content when I finished. I would recommend the salmon if you eat salmon. My company had the chicken sandwich and the burger special. Both were excellent and cooked as requested. The service was great. The drink menu was big and had a lot of great choices. None of us had steak/beef which I think they may pride themselves on. It is a bit pricey $44-46/dish but I do beleive that its the average price for quality steak. If you are not a big meat eater I would not recommend the Guild. It only had slmon as an alternative which I love but there was not many other selections. They did offer salads which was a selection for one in our party. The greens where very fressh and it was dressed perfectly. The salads had a choice to have a piece of salmon with it, the piece of salmon that accompanies the salad was a larger portion. Overall I would recemmend the Guild but I would recommend reviewing the menu and pricing before visiting.
