Every dish we've ordered at Guardado's over several visits has been great. Our personal favorites are the scallops, vegetarian stuffed peppers, and filet mignon tapas. The sangria is also very good. Fast and friendly service and consistency in the quality of the food keeps us going back. A very unique and memorable dining experience.
Great service and food. If we have any advice it is that perhaps some of the dishes had too much oil.
The paella could be shared by 3 people. If 2 people finished the whole thing, they’d feel very full. We liked it a lot. The spinach salad was just about perfect.
Husband and I had dinner there for the first time. What a great experience. Lovely drink at the bar first. When the restaurant started to fill up and host made sure to keep our reserved table open for us. Thomas was a waiter. Very helpful. Everything was great. Felt the shrimp tapas with olive oil n spices was in too much liquid that overpowered any spices. The paella was simply amazing. Dessert was fantastic too. Loved the endive and goat cheese tapas. We can't wait to go back and Thomas was terrific. We drove half way home when we realized we left our take home bag of paella on the table. Oops. First time I've ever dashed back to a restaurant to get my dinner leftovers!!!! Can't wait to go back.
Great tapas restaurant in Bethesda. Very good selection. There is something for everyone on the menu. We’ll be back to try again. Service was very attentive.
Dinner and a movie started with tapas at Guardado’s. EVERYTHING that came out of that kitchen was good, but a few were especially noteworthy. The goat cheese stuffed peppers were so good we wished we’d ordered two ( or three) instead of one to share. The octopus was delicious.
The low prices allow experimentation, which is terrific. We’ll definitely be back!
Very good food and fast, courteous service. My husband and I plan to return when we are in the area.
This restaurant seemed to be having an identity crisis. It was sort of latin with no particular nationality. I ordered a plantain empanada. I got a dish of plantains, chicken, and cheese. I ate it. It was fine. It was not an empanada.
Service was excellent, even though our waiter was also our hostess and bartender. The restaurant wasn't packed at 5pm on a Saturday night so I guess that worked out fine. The paella was a good serving size and tasted ok, but the meat wasn't seasoned as I would have expected. The tilapia was delicious as well as the quesadillas. The restaurant was very casual. Overall it was pretty good.
We have been there many times since they opened and they have never disappointed us!
Booked a table for 13 for a get-together; they set us up in their private dining room towards the back. The room is a little muted in appearance, but felt homey nonetheless (kind of like your grandmother's dining room). Servers were very attentive, and happy hour prices were awesome. The food options and drinks were diverse and delicious (the mojito especially!). My only major complaint would be that they couldn't split the check. However, I verified that in advance of ordering so most of the complications were mitigated. Our server was so diligent and expedient, and I understand that managing 13 people's happy hour orders is troublesome with a full restaurant. Will certainly recommend to others and return.
Great food, and a super value
Absolutely delicious!! Friendly and quick services too!
BEST Paella I have had outside of Spain! Amazing food, great service and wonderful ambiance. This is a neighborhood gem! We will absolutely be returning!
Love the food and reasonable. We eat at Guardado's a few times per month. Great neighborhood restaurant.
Guardados staff and ambience always make one feel at home. AND the food is incomparable!
Wife and I enjoyed our meal here. Service was excellent and had some wonderful tapas.
Great food and service was quick after a slow start.
This is a very cozy restaurant with wonderful tapas. It's small so it's a little crowded when it's full and the service can be a little slow - but it's all worth it. The owner is delightful and always around if we need anything.
A very cozy, family-run restaurant with friendly service. Authentic tapas, with a good mix of Iberian and Latin American offerings. Very tasty, reasonably sized servings; good value for money.
Very nice. Will be back.
One of our family's favorite regular places. Great little neighborhood restaurants.
Great paella, cozy but somewhat noisy when there are groups
Dinner started well. The tapas were delicious. Then the paella arrived. The first few bites were delicious. And then the 4” hair, intertwined in the vegetables and rice, killed the experience. The waiter and manager were challenging us about the hair. They asked where it was and my wife had to tell them it was twisted in the bite she spat on a plate. The manager forgot the most basic truth: the customer is ALWAYS right. Sadly we will not be coming back.
This our favorite tapas place in the neighborhood, where my wife and I visit regularly, often with another couple. We recommend especially the ceviche and the shrimps with oil.
We always come on THURSDAY's b/c there is a guitarist. ON other days, it would be nice to have soft music in the background . . . . .thank you.
We went to Guardado's for restaurant week. What a great offer--four tapas plus a dessert for $25. We enjoyed the tapas, but needed to take some home because they were so plentiful. It's a small restaurant with a dedicated clientele loyal to the family-owned business. What a find!
We have eaten there many times now, and their food is always made from fresh ingredients and tastes delicious. Their cuisine is excellent! Although the tapas are terrific, try the paella sometime.
Great food as always! We enjoy their tapas and the wait staff is knowledgeable and friendly as always!
Tapas and paella are delicious. Wine choices excellent. A great place for one or two people or a group of four or five or more. Warm, friendly service. Clearly a neighborhood gem although we drive from Fairfax to go to Guardado's.
The food, ambiance, service and value were great, and with parking right across the street. Go and enjoy.
Guardado's is a local favorite. The food is always excellent, no matter what we order. The atmosphere is perfect if you want to have dinner with friends and not want to have a problem with noise level. And the personnel are very attentive. You can't miss at Guardado's.
The food was excellent, delicious Paella & wonderful wine! Service was attentive, the atmosphere was comfortable. We will definitely be back!
The tapas were delicious & an excellent value. The staff was friendly, helpful, & attentive. We have passed the restaurant when walking in Bethesda but this was our first time eating tbere. Tbe live music wasn't too loud for us to have a conversation. All around a lovely experience & we'll be back again soon.
Excellent choice of tapas with friendly and fast service. Each food selection was prepared well with vibrant flavors.
I wanted to love this restaurant. It's 'cozy', but we were squished into a small area with two tables of 4. The tables nearest the door. It was noisy and claustrophobic. Our waiter was horrible. We saw very little of him. The woman helping him took care of us.
Our favorite tapas were the mussels, the spinach with raisins and the chicken thighs and shrimp with rosemary. The chicken dish was spectacular. Then we shared a paella valencia which was good.
Quaint restaurant with amazing food. Can't wait to go back!
One of our favorites in Bethesda, food is always amazing!
We really like Guardados. We we're there awhile back and remember Ed the cozy, quiet atmosphere and good food. Tonight I was so pleased with the house Cabernet and the service was exemplary. We will return.
Excellent little restaurant that seems to be hidden by the other flashier restaurants in and around Bethesda. Definitely worth checking out.
