Ambience and service were excellent, as were the drinks. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t up to par. We started with selections from the raw bar. For dinner I had the 21 day dry aged rib-eye and my friend had the New York strip, we ordered a few sides (truffle Mac and cheese and Potatoes Gratin. Over-all, we found the food disappointing. The steaks were cooked perfectly, but lacked the flavor and complexity associated with top end beef. The sides were awful—bland and flavorless.
Fine for a business meal, but not worth the price for a truly great dinning experience.
Troy Guard does it again! The food and service were both outstanding.
We were disappointed in the dessert. The rest of the meal was good.
The food wasn’t awesome.
We had an amazing experience at Guard and Grace! We came to Denver on vacation and my boyfriend proposed to me. Guard and Grace made our celebration extra special! We heard Guard and Grace was one of the best restaurants to get steak and decided it was where we were going to celebrate our engagement. I made a reservation on Open Table and put that it was for a special occasion. Our waitress was very kind and knowledgeable about the restaurant and menu. She asked what we were here for and upon finding out she brought us two glasses of champagne. We ordered glasses of wine, the octopus appetizer, prime rib and the chocolate cake and creme brulee. The kitchen also gave us a bite of sashimi on a spoon to sample. When the chocolate cake came out it had a congratulations note written in chocolate syrup on the plate. I would highly recommend going to Guard and Grace for your special event or just to have a nice dinner. The quality of the food is easily the best we have had. They butcher their meat in house so it is extremely fresh and the produce is locally sourced and just as fresh. The staff is wonderful and professional. The price is great for the quality of food you will get. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant!
As always was such a pleasure to dine at Guard and Grace .
Never afraid of trying a new dish here ! We will be back again and again
Food and service was amazing!
Great dinner. Food was outstanding as was the service. Prices are kind of high for Denver which is why I gave a value of 4 instead of 5.
I’ve been anticipating the Houston opening of G&G, so when I was in Denver on business, I had to taste the goods. The filet was perfect. The next evening I reserved a table at TAG, Troy Guard’s self described Continental social food scene. Very well done.
Matt, our waiter, was very polite and attentive. This was our first time here and we would definitely come back. The food was amazing, well seasoned and great portions. This is by far the best top fine dining experience we will never forget.
We enjoyed our evening. Customer service and care was fantastic!
Our waitress Sarah was awesome! Food was unbelievable!!! Definitely going back! :)
Third time dining here and once again, a perfect evening. Flawless service, incredible food, there's nothing more that could be asked for.
Some of the best fine dining in Denver. Professional service, quality steaks and a great sommelier.
A very nice dinner before an evening at the theater. Our server was very attentive without being intrusive. She explained the menu comprehensivly. Our cocktails were still under the happy hour menu and nicely priced. Over all very nice, though be aware of the very large portion sizes.
Our server was incredible. All of the servers were! It was our tenth anniversary and they surprised us with a card signed by the staff, as well as a custom dessert. The food was very disappointing for the price. The mashed potatoes tasted like instant potatoes cooked in a microwave. The black truffle Mac and cheese was disgusting. Our steaks were not too bad, but not worth the $50 a piece. Neither steak was cooked to the temperature we requested, but the flavor was still pretty decent. I wouldn’t really rate it any higher than a normal chain steakhouse though. We can mark it off of our list of places to try. It’s very unlikely that we will return.
Delicious as always. The crab cakes are amazing! We enjoyed the beet burrata salad as well. Those two items were new to us. Of course the steaks are always perfect and we love that we can get a 4 oz size.
Our server Daniel was very good and its a little loud but the food and service makes up for it!
Last night in Denver. Business trip with my family
Had an absolutely incredible dinner. Service was exceptional. This place is amazing!
We celebrated an anniversary at Guard and Grace and were not disappointed. The service was very attentive and the food was excellent. We started out with cheese and prosciutto, then split a wedge salad. We each had a 4oz fillet with whipped potatoes for our entrees. The only downside was that most restaurants of this caliber usually bring out a little dessert in honor of the special occasion. We got what was basically two pieces of jello! We did laugh! Overall an enjoyable evening.
By far the best dining experience my wife and I ever had. Steak was delicious. Calamari the best we ever had. Wine selection extensive. But the service was over the top without being intruding. Ever person had a job but if you asked the person cleaning your table a question they would reply in a friendly and professional manner. Very engaging. My wife has been looking for a chocolate peanut cake for 30 years and found it. Chef actually gave her the recipe
First class in every way
Double seating by the kitchen is a bit loud, the tables are pretty long adding to the feeling that you need to shout to hear one another.
But the food, service and drinks were spectacular, the sides are large enough to feed 2-3 people, and the entrees were amazing.
Food was amazing: sushi, bone in ribeye. The City Lights cocktail was not my favorite.
Our friends loved this place, so we decided to try when we were in Denver. Overall very good, our highly recommended steak was not as flavorful as we expected, although cooked perfectly which is why we were disappointed. Wine selection was very good reasonable pricing and knowledgeable sommelier.
Although the restaurant was lovely and our waiter attentive, our anniversary lunch on Friday was a huge disappointment. My 4oz. Steak was over cooked after ordering medium rare. My husband’s 16 oz. ribeye was “the worst he's ever had” (1/2 gristle & fat - unable to eat most of it.) We reported our dissatisfaction to our waiter, who requested we fill out a complaint card to allow management to address the issues. To date we have not heard from management. Can’t recommend it!
Place was nice, service was great, chicken was dry.
I just think it’s really overpriced for the sandwich I got. I guess the abundance of fries they give you is suppose to make you think it’s worth the amount.
Best steak restaurant I have ever eaten at. Steaks are incredible - perfectly cooked and tender - so are the salads, sides and desserts. I put this up there with the best restaurants I've eaten in - Jaleo, Bouley, Daniel and Peter Lugers.
I ordered Colorado lamb. Food is ok, service is pretty good.
Guard and Grace never disappoints! Amazing food quality, taste and service. Thank you for keeping your high standard consistent across all menu items.
Great filet, good pasta, excellent service very loud and energetic crowd.
Always great food. The new Duo of Melon dessert was spectacular.
Everything was wonderful. But since there is so many people in a smaller area I felt like I was talking very loudly to make my table hear me. Especially since we were seated in the middle of the restaurant.
Very good food
First off, I hate when a survey only gives me a Yes No option - recommending G&G comes with a HUGE caveat, no recommendation if you want a quiet intimate place to have a dinner, yes if you want good steak but don't care about the noise level.
We were there on a Sunday night and it was full, good to see and our expectations were high . . too high.
For a $150-200 meal for 2 of us I expect to get great food and be able to have a conversation with my wife.
Our server made a good recommendation for our salad and we really enjoyed that.
She was attentive and the staff in general was attentive and we were served pretty promptly.
Something was not good with the food service, 3 different meals were attempted to be served to our table only to be told that we did not order these dishes.
If you like brussels sprouts, and I mean, you REALLY gotta like them because, if you order a bowl of them as an appetizer you'll get enough to feed a minimum of 4 people . . . maybe 5. And some of them tasted fine, they all needed seasoning, we thought that a balsamic reduction would have made them amazing instead of just ok.
We chose between the whipped and smashed potatoes . . . we chose badly.
The smashed potatoes were . . . ummm, flavorful if you really really really like cayenne, if not, stay away. These were so hot as to be difficult to enjoy and the cayenne completely obliterated any other flavors. Not our favorite dish.
We had the steak flight and it was tremendous, cooked perfectly and served beautifully.
We shared this dish and we both ended up with about 8oz of steak and we were super happy about the taste of each type of meat. HIGHLY recommend the flight. (we could not take a bite of steak and potato together, the cayenne would overwhelm everything else)
Last, this place is LOUD I mean, REALLY, REALLY LOUD.
And if you get a really loud table of 4 bros nearby that like to shout over each other well, it's only louder.
They were so attentive about the food allergies a member of our party had it made the night that much more enjoyable. It wasn’t a lingering issue like at other restaurants. There they made it a priority. Delicious and definitely returning soon.
Food was super! However, had a very loud, foul-mouthed group of six (who we complained about to both waiter and manager--nothing done) who essentially prohibited our party from talking to each other effectively. We were law school roommates over 40 yrs ago, catching up after all these years of not seeing each other once. Glad we had a chance to talk BEFORE going to the restaurant because we certainly didn't have much of an opportunity that night--which was the SOLE reason for us being there. There are MANY other restaurants like this (steak and sea food) to choose from downtown. I will not be going back to this one.
The service was divine! Very knowledgeable, yet approachable at the same time with a more than pleasant attitude from all of the staff. The food was of course, delectable and prepared to perfection. They were also gracious in not shaming me for being 15 minutes late to my reservation (I did call to let them know).
Will absolutely return!!!
There were good and not so good. The service was good. But my prime rib was over cooked and not very flavorful. I was a little disappointed, because I was there for the prime rib,to celebrate my birthday.
