My husband and I came here for our first wedding anniversary. The staff signed a card for us which was super sweet. The food was just incredible and the service was impeccable.
Meal was just OK. Had been to another steakhouse a couple nights prior and this was so far removed from the quality there and at a slightly higher price. Disappointed.
The ambiance is very good-definitely a modern take on a high end steakhouse. Casual seating if you prefer in the bar/lounge, with TV's if you want to set up for dinner and watch a game. Good arrangement in the dining room so their is privacy but not overly stuffy.
Food was very good and the service was on point.
First time there. The food and service were awesome.
Tim - our sever was Amazing. We were celebrating my parents 50th anniversary and Tim greeted my parents by name and gave them a complementary dessert (which I was fully prepared to pay for). The food was great, I just felt as though it was overpriced just a little.
Delicious food... our server Christie was friendly, knowledgeable and made our dining experience a great one!
Impressed by the cordiality of the entire wait staff as we entered and as we left! Very impressive and very uncommon!!! Loved it!
Spectacular ambiance and food! Oh, did I mention the wait staff was incredible?
Amazing I would
Highly recommended for a group
Wonderful food! Very attentive wait staff. Noise level was a bit much, especially for a Wednesday night. Lots of out of town folk for the Bronco game on Thursday, I assumed. Fabulous steaks.
Everything was wonderful ... from our dinners, our apps, our drinks, our desserts and the service. We would all eat there again and tell all our friends to try it!
Amazing as always. Can't wait for the next trip back!!
Very nice, high end dining experience.
Lindsay you are awesome! We had a wonderful meal, the filet trio was excellent as well as the ravioli, and the bartender made our drinks to our liking. Would definitely come back the next time we are in Denver.
I recommend this restaurant, although I still prefer a few others in the Denver area, particularly for steak (at least a filet). The sides were excellent and "A Trip to Paradise", the cocktail I ordered, was delightful. The noise level wasn't too bad, although as the evening went on it did get a bit on the noisy side. Service was satisfactory overall, but not the best. A side order of brussel sprouts was forgotten until we reminded the server. We weren't charged for it. But I liked the ambience and the decor. Modern and sleek, but not "cold".
It was cool
We made a last minute reservation and were lucky to get in. The food and suggestions by waiter was fabulous. All staff were warm and kind.
Wedding Anniversary. They treated us really well! Made it fun and special.
From the moment we stepped in the restaurant we were treated great! It was our anniversary dinner and each member of the team thanked us for sharing our special evening with them. They placed an anniversary card on the table...a very special touch as it was personally signed by staff that was working that evening. Very special indeed.
Phil was our primary server and he was helpful in guiding us through the meal. From the recommendation of the perfect bourbon to the wine pairing with the meal, it was spot on!
We enjoyed the roasted red pepper goat cheese ravioli - spectacular flavors. A New York Strip w/Foie Butter, paired with Alaskan Black Cod. Amazing! We finished with a seasonal dessert.
The entire evening was filled with gracious encounters and amazing food! It was the perfect place for our special night!
We may have caught the restaurant on an off day for lunch, but then again maybe not. I was surprised that the menu didn’t have a vegetable choice other than bacon-wrapped Brussels sprouts. Really? Then what’s the point? I ordered a small filet mignon for $24 for a “melt-in-your-mouth experience.” Really? It was so overly peppered and spiced that “melt in your mouth” must be because my tongue is on fire. I know how to pepper a steak. It’s right there on the damn table. If the chef wants to put a cool, hip spin on his dishes, at least warn the customers about it on the menu. I also ordered the mashed potatoes and was told they were smashed and not mashed. Okay. That sounded like it could still work. Apparently they don’t tell the wait staff what smashed is because the potatoes were large chunks of potatoes deep fried. I guess DIY smashing was insinuated. Also the two entrees we ordered looked dwarfed on the normal-sized dinner plates because there was nothing on the side and they were tiny. My entree looked pretty forlorn and lonely there. Did I mention my $24 steak was the size of a hotel bar of soap? No bread came after ordering so I flagged another waiter down to ask for some. A couple of small rolls showed up with spicy dijon butter. Not a fan. Overall a pretty disappointing experience. Will not be back.
We were in town for work and my wife ordered her steak medium well. It came out as medium rare. My steak was fine but now we have to wait for them to fix hers. Pretty big difference between medium rare and medium well - a premier steak house shouldn't mess this up when you are paying $50 a steak. Our waitress was apologetic and very sweet - it wasn't her fault and we still left her a 30% tip. However, you would think when you are dropping $250 in a restaurant and they mess up your order and make us wait for their mistake, a manager would come over and apologize and try to make it right. We had been to this establishment a year ago and it was great - not this time. Our next visit to Denver will involve us trying a different steak house.
The food is soooo good and service is great! Love this place!
Fabulous place! Exceptional steak, creative salads and sides, great cocktails and wine. We were very impressed and will definitely go back! Thank you!
The food was AMAZING!!! I had the filet mignon and my SO had the cod and it was the BEST FISH EVER!!! I ordered my filet medium and the temp was PERFECT! Matt the bartender is amazing and can offer a wealth of knowledge for cocktail and wine pairings! The quality of the restaurant, food and service makes you forget about the price. It’s worth the time and money!!! Kudos to all the chefs and planning in this establishment!
The food was fantastic, seasoned well, and the portions were decent. The cocktails were smooth and well-balanced.
We were on a weekend getaway in Denver and decided to try Guard & Grace due to the good reviews. We dined at 7:45pm on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was filled. Atmosphere was very dark and loud, not an intimate venue, which was fine. The menu is very pricey and for what you get/quality I personally did not feel it was worth it.
We both ordered drinks, wine and a cocktail. Our server was very attentive and made menu recommendations. I had wanted a side salad but all salads are a la carte - server recommended the beet & peach salad. It isn't something we would normally order but with the recommendation we gave it a try. It was incredibly bland and very little flavor. The peaches were awful and tasteless. Presentation however was beautiful but at the end of the day, taste is more important. I would not recommend.
We both ordered a filet mignon which came out cooked according to our preferences. The steaks were good but there was nothing special about them in the slightest. Sides are a la carte, we each ordered one side- Brussel sprouts and truffle gnocchi. Both of which were good however very large portions - I wish our server would have warned us about the serving size as we would have only ordered one side.
For dessert we split the "corn" creme brulee. Our server warned us it comes as a "deconstructed" creme brulee. It was very interesting to say the least. It came with corn kernels sprinkled on the dessert. It wasn't bad but it was a very interesting taste and not something I would order again.
We would not dine here again - the food was not up to par for the price. I commend them on their staff service and that they are trying to do something different here but it just did not resonate well.
The service, food, wine and atmosphere are all amazing! It's a bit on the pricey side, but that's to be expected for a place like this. We had a fabulous experience and will save up to go back on another special occasion! ;)
Excellent place for a special event or to have drinks with friends
I was raving about this place in the past but the steaks were not good this time. Our waitress sliced them which ruined the juiciness and taste of the two ribeyes we had. We wanted to try the regular and the 21 day aged but she sliced them without asking us therefore completely taking the yummy out of the steak.
place was ''hopping'' for a Wednesday night. Was very loud, almost to loud! food was delicious although my friend got a 4 ounce filet that looked about the size of your thumb. all in all had a great dinner there, if not a little over priced.
The prime rib French dip is alway my go-to sandwich. But during this visit, I was offered the "upgrade" which included an awesome mix of mild jalapeños and mushrooms which solidified my menu selection for every time going forward! It was fantastic! My only wish is that I would have been educated on the upgrade option years ago! HA!
The wait staff is very good. The noise levels were at a point where we had trouble hearing the waiter and each other. Food was good but our steak was charred black on the outside. Yes we ordered it med well but other steak houses manage this without sending out a blackened steak. Otherwise food was good.
We went to Guard & Grace for our anniversary recently. Jonathan was our server and was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The level of service at G&G matches the food - superb. We learned that the burrata is flown in from Italy. It is amazing!! We tried the grass fed filet and the cod dish- delicious! G&G is such a treat and we will be back soon.
We are humbled by your words! It is an honor to have shared in your anniversary celebration! Jonathan and our entire team thank you! Our burrata is indeed flown in from Italy and definitely a house favorite. Chef recommends the filet flight, a prime, angus, and grass-fed filet together, a celebration of the delicate yet distinct flavors of each. Our Alaskan Black Cod, well you took the words right out of my mouth! We loook forward to seeing you soon! Jeff S.- General Manager, Guard & Grace
Appetizer and alcohol were on point. Quality of meat and temperature of steaks was excellent, however, next time I will order it without the "house sauce" which is veal based and automatically comes on it. The meat is good enough to stand alone and doesn't need it.
Hello! Thank you for the detailed review. We do accent our steaks with a wonderful demi-glace, but of course, all of our amazing cuts are available without on request! Jeff S.- General Manager, Guard & Grace
Very well ran restaurant. Good ambience. Great date night place. Good options for food choices. The staff are super enjoyable and knowledgeable.
Service and food were both amazing!
It was a great place. The food was great and I’d love to go back. The service was slow initially and we attended on a Friday and was extremely loud. We had to talk fairly loud to converse. The seafood tower is awesome.
Hi Dana, Thank you for the feedback and we look forward to seeing you again as well. I do apologize if there was any service delay. We will discuss this as a team to ensure we are taking great care of everyone going forward. Our atmosphere can be energetic but should never overly loud. We will take care to maintain a more comfortable ambiance. Jeff S.- General Manager, Guard & Grace
Amazing! All around it was a phenomenal experience. Had the bone in ribeye and it was perfect. It was our anniversary and it couldn't have been better.
Thank you for sharing your anniversary with us! We are humbled by your compliments and look forward to seeing you again soon! Jeff S.- General Manager, Guard & Grace
Food was amazing!
Best waiter we've ever had, Phil. Couldn't have had a better experience.
