Muy rica la comida y el servicio al cliente excelente. Nos sirivieron rapido y estuvieron siempre muy atentos
We were seated outside and it wasn’t very pleasant there was little cockroaches all over the place. But food was really good just be careful you don’t eat something else…
Staff was warm and friendly. Fast service. Great Mojitos. Plenty of food and reasonably priced. They made sure we got to the theater on time.
We had a decent experience. Service was good, place felt fun. We weren't there late enough for the live band, but really would have enjoyed it. Good was marginal, but the empanadas were great. Drinks were great, too. They had no control over this, but there were very annoying food bloggers out something that had cameras on them the whole time, very strange and distracting.
We picked this restaurant for its location. They asked for Vax proof but none of the wait staff were wearing masks. One dish was disappointing because it was short on shrimp and mostly rice and vegetables. It also was very noisy.
I used to go here once a month pre-pandemic--loved the food and the staff and the ambiance. We always sat downstairs, where the noise level was really fine. But now you can only sit upstairs where the noise level is truly unbearable or outside where you can hear the 8th Avenue traffic. The staff is still lovely but some of the food has gone downhill, for sure--from a tasteless palma real salad (which I used to love) to watery, sickly sweet margaritas. Oh well, welcome to post-pandemic dining in Midtown West.
Had a great dinner here on Friday night. It's bit too loud for date, but overall was great. Will come back for their happy hour special.
good place for a late dinner after a show. Food Menu had interesting selection of Cuban Dishes. The Oxtail stew tasted wonderful; would however have preferred it ore cooked such that the meat would fall off the bones.
Waiters and music were great !
Dined on a Thursday night, not expecting live music. Band came on at 8:30pm, they were great! A very fun, festive atmosphere. We will be back!
Absolutely horrible experience. A friend I haven’t seen in a very long time came to NYC to go to a theater show, and I am utterly embarrassed and humiliated that I picked this restaurant. The reviews all seemed good, and I made the reservation for 6pm, which should have left us plenty of time to make the 8pm show four blocks away. When we arrived, there was a line of people waiting for reservations. It was 6:15 before a hostess showed up to even try to help anyone. All they would say is that they assumed people seated earlier would stay two hours, and they were staying longer so what could they do? KICK THEM OUT! Or let me do it if you don’t have the cahones! Then a party of six pushed past everyone who also had reservations saying “they had negotiated their seating already.” W.T.A.F?!?!?!? After making a point that the four parties of two with reservations at 6pm (when it was now 6:20) would be happy to share, my friend and I were led to the table - for six. Not even bothering to break up the tables just seating the two of us there. We told them we were honest, please also seat all the other parties of two they had delayed but they just ignored us. Then the hostess came back several times asking for my name because she couldn’t find my reservation. I showed her the reservation confirmation, but she kept insisting that she couldn’t find it. Then she asked: are you just two? No flies on her, she was a quick one. On saying yes, then she said oh, I thought you said you were a party of six! And then she suddenly found my reservation. Right there by my name. Which I had told her multiple times. Go figure! Then she said, oh they had another table for two they could seat us at, and took us back up to the front to a bar table right in the path of entrance traffic behind the hostess station. That only had one chair. We had to ask to get water. We had to ask to get menus. We had to ask if anyone was waiting on that table before anyone took our order.
We had a great time. The food was delicious, the servers very friendly and the music was great albeit a bit too loud for a 6 pm dinner. My friends loved it and I would definitely recommend it!
We were there to celebrate a birthday & the staff the musicians everybody made it incredibly special. If you want to get a little taste of nyc live salsa music & not be in a club this is the place to go. It’s family friendly and so much fun!! Musicians are amazing and staff make your visit extra special . We were al dancing! Food mad drink are also delicious!
We love this place! We stumbled upon it several years ago and it has never disappointed us. Authentic Cuban cuisine, carefully prepared. The Cuban sandwich is exceptional. But, try the Shrimp in white wine and garlic. Music on weekends. The staff is very friendly, polite, and attentive. Only downside is the noise level is a little high. Always a winner!
Mojitos from the gods. Diverse menu with something for everyone. Rice is just right.
I expected more, considering the stellar reviews. The place is small. The service was mediocre. The paella dish I had was bland. The two stars are for the mojito and the wine.
I will not return.
Food was fantastic. Tables are very close together. The music was so loud the waiter couldn’t hear us order. Would go again.
So very disappointed. Food was so bland everyone barely touched their food. How do you cook beans with no taste? Even the sangria did not taste good.
Food was quite simple with small portion, maybe not good enough for the value. Very loud music. Should be better for drinks.
This was our favorite meal we had in NYC. The food was phenomenal. Service and staff were great. Highly recommend the banana guava bread pudding!!! Their mojito's were a favorite as well. Go you won't regret it.
Always great Latin music to go with the delicious Cuban cuisine.
The food was average at best. It was a super busy theatre night and they were short staffed. I ordered vegetable paella, and it was soupy and not very good.
This is THE best Cuban food in the city!! Love the friendly staff. Always a pleasure to eat here
We went in because I saw its rating over 4 stars. It's a Sunday afternoon just after 2PM. We got seated inside the restaurant. I ordered fish and my son ordered sandwich. The waitress did mention the fish is good but it would take some time. It took over 50 minutes. We got our lunch after 3PM. The fish was okay but other ingredients tasted like from a frozen veggie bag. The rice is tasteless and low quality. My son did like his sandwich. Our tiny water glasses were never refilled and stayed dry half way through the meal.
I didn't find a good experience in this restaurant.
Food was delicious, but the music was too loud for such a small space. You're better off eating outside, if you can.
The food was absolutely delicious and our server was very attentive. I would definitely dine at Guantanamera again!
This restaurant is serving up delicious Cuban cuisine and equally perfect mojitos. This is the place to hit for Cuban food in the city.
Love this place! Best Cuban food in the city!! Staff is all so nice and friendly.
Delicious food and a great service as always. They went above and beyond. Definitely recommend it!
Have been to the Queens location several times and love the food, service, ambience and location so decided to try the Manhattan location for a friend's get together...did not disappoint... would highly recommend this place.!!!!
The food was very good and the ambiance was very good as well, it just seems that in these times the tables were very close to one another to the point that the conversation at the next table we were hearing more than our own conversation and the couple next to us would just laugh so loud and obnoxious that it was kind of disturbing. Other than those few things, everything else was good and my wife and I really had a great time.
i take my friends there，it was pretty good.they had good music and food
Loved Guatenamera!!! The food, service, ambiance and the latin band were outstanding. We actually have eaten there 3 times in two weeks.
Don't hesitate as you won't be disappointed.
Guantanamera is my favorite latin spot in NYC. Decided to celebrate my birthday here with a party of 10. Everything went smoothly and the food/ drinks were delicious. I will definitely be back!
Great food and live music
It was great to see Guantanamera packed again, the band playing and people dancing in the aisles. And the food and classic mojitos were as excellent as ever.
Great food, nice environment
Love , love this place. I decided to have my birthday dinner there because the food is always good and they make the best mojitos. Great service.
We arrived early but were seated. First tried to seat us where one of us would be back to where servers were standing. Seated further in restaurant. Received water. Table beside us and behind us were waited on and tables across the room. After sometime the hostess came and ask if we had been waited on. We said no After 30 minutes we left.
