Great food, great band, overall very unexpectedly good night. Live band playing Cuban music. Will go back.
I absolutely love Guantanamera! I have been here a bunch of times and the live music is always great. The servers are all very welcoming and the place is clean. As for the food... nothing less than AMAZING! They have great mojitos and sangria as well. I have went to just have lunch and also for a birthday. Really great Cuban spot overall!
The food was delicious, price a little too high but overall
Enjoyed our meal. The live band was very pleasant and enjoyable!! Will definitely come back!!
It was very crowded and very small. The food was amazing! Service amazing!!! I would go back on a quieter night and really enjoy the ambiance.
Just a night out...loved the atmosphere!
The food and service was very good. However, the tables were crowded together, the noise level was very very loud and there was a band. Not a good place to eat if you want to hold a conversation.
We had gone to Guantanemera after a matinee in the Theatre District, only a few blocks away. I had the Camarones al Ajillo which included half dozen shrimp in a mild garlic sauce and the entree was Masittas de Puerco with Congri. It was marinated tender pork chunks with a bit of a sizzle on the surface, served with the tasty rice/bean Congri and Spanish potato chips. On the side it is IMPERATIVE that you order the Maduros, sweet plaintains with dinner. My wife had the Cubano Classico sandwich and we shared the cool refreshing Crema Coco for dessert. The place was pretty packed on a Sunday afternoon and all the food and attention by a "team" of waiters was wonderful.
Food was amazing!! Had a taste of home!
I was a little upset that they could not find my reservation lucky it was not busy so they were able to seat us
Took my man out here for him and his bf birthday such an amazing place I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for a great night live music and great atmosphere we danced and eat well Cuban Cuisine was amazing and the live band did an amazing job thumbs up
Great Cuban food but the mojitos are the star! The mango was so delicious. Not too sweet but so light and tasty. The empanadas were stuffed with a flakey chicken and served with a green sauce that completed the dish. The main dishes were served with rice and beans and we had the shrimp in garlic and white wine. Large tasty shrimp swimming in a delicious broth. The star was the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce. Tender and generous portion. Attentive server and all around good time!!
the food was authentic and the atmosphere was fun. live band was great specially their interaction with the crowd. GREAT Place
Valentines Day. The restaurant was decorated for the occasion. There was a special menu, but we ordered from the regular menu. Food and service were great. Good sized drinks. Very nice.
I went there for valentines days and it was amazing. Food was great . Will definitely go back.
Very nice place. Great food, great drinks, great service! I will definitely go back.
We enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. A good variety of tasty appetizers (the ham croquettes were particularly good), creatively presented Cuban entrees, including suckling pig, ropa vieja, and carnitas, attentive service. We were there on a quiet Monday night, and there was some very nice live music from a duo of a guitar player and bongo player. A warm chocolate cake dessert with ice cream rounded out the evening. We'd definitely go back.
We celebrated my brother's Birthday. The live music, delicious food, and good cocktails made Guantanamera a great pick!
This place has delicious food, a congenial waitstaff and a great location. What else do you need? The prix fix lunch menu was a real value. I'll be back for sure!
We started with the beef empanadas and the tostones rellenos. For entrees we had the Lechon Assado and the Churrasco con Chimichurri. For dessert the torrejas and the tres leches. All the dishes were very good!
They have a decent selection of beers but only by the bottle - no draft.
The atmosphere is casual and nicely decorated, and service was good. We were not rushed at all.
Great for pre/post theater dining if in the 55th St area (e.g. New York City Center.) We will be back.
One of my fav places in the city. Highly recommend! The yuca rellena is insane! Love the steak and sweet plantains as well!
The music is such a great. There's no dance floor but people get up and dance anyway.
Order the spicy margarita!
I went for the first time with my wife. we both Loved the food and the live music!!
the food and service were great just a little pricey.
Pricey, Bring your wallet and lots of money . 1 empanada $10
Was a but disappointed that happy hour was at the bar only. Food was ok but not amazing
Great food and great service, my wife and I loved it.
Good music although too loud! Food, service and drinks are very good and prices are very affordable as well.
My dinner at Guantanamera was even better than anticipated by the online reviews! With its colorful and cozy ambience, excellent service, and superb Latin food, it was the perfect pre-theater meal - especially before seeing John Leguizamo's great performance in "Latin History for Morons"! Will definitely be back!!
Atmosphere and service were great. I was disappointed in the shrimp dish. The shrimp were very small for the price of the entree. However, other entrees were adequate.
Authentic Cuban food, live music and a man rolling cigars in the bar. Fun evening.
Good lunch, good place
Great food, very live ambient
Amazing ambiance, food and great live band. Had a great time!
Was in the area to see a show. Originally planned to go before the show, however didn't want to feel rushed. So we went after show and we're happy as they had a band playing. The music and food were very good.
Excellent, food and cocktails were spot on. Music was a bonus, if we hadn't been so tired from exploring, we could have spent the whole evening here
Very nice place, nice service, good delicious food. Appetizer portion could be larger but overall experience very nice. Music not too loud, just perfect to enjoy company and food.
Christmas night. Usual dinner. A littlw bit of noisy latin music, nothing that unconfortable. Tight spaces between tables.
Not that good food. I would say regular.
Out of all the places I could’ve gone to, I chose Guantanamera. I came here on Christmas Day with my boyfriend to celebrate the holiday. We had a great time! The music was a bit too loud, but we already knew it was going to be, because we read the reviews before choosing a destination. Also, the server was great, but it would be nice if he would have checked up on us before we finished our food to see if we wanted more soda or anything else to drink. Other than that he did great. He made us feel welcomed and greeted us with a warm smile. Now to the food. It was beyond exceptional (well for me). I loved what I chose, and I enjoyed every bit of it. My boyfriend on the other hand asked for his steak well done, and it came out a little charred along the edges. He just cut those pieces off and pushed them aside. Orher than that he enjoyed his food as well. I will definitely come back and I have already recommended this restaurant to a couple of my friends. Thank you for everything!
Wait for 30 minutes althoug we had a reservation. Drinks took forever. Service is just bad!
The mojitos are the best along with the Cuban sandwich. Entrees are authentic with quality fresh ingredients. A fine bar, cigar maker plus live music add to the atmosphere.
Great food ambience. Live band was an excellent touch
