We waited an hour for our food, had to get it to-go because we had to leave and then it was burnt. Server was good but most there aren’t. Kitchen is unacceptably slow and prices are too high for quality.
Our server was very upbeat and told us everything we needed to know to make our selections. Because it was our first time there, we got a free dessert. What a nice surprise! The food was excellent and our tea was always full. We took some of our meal home.. which hardly ever happens. We thought we were going to explode when we left. We didn’t, thankfully. 😀
We will definitely go back again. It’s also conveniently located next to the movie theater.
I guess it was the time of day but service has been better. Salsa arrived about 10 mins before the food. Elected not to have it. The Sea Bass Enchiladas were awesome. Excellent.
It's a fun restaurant with good Mexican food, never had a bad time here.
Out of town guests enjoyed live music and salsa made at our table.
We are regulars but always find the food delicious (especially the salsa and fresh guacamole), the staff friendly and helpful, no matter the server or salsera, and the margaritas are the best in Tucson. Additionally, the manager, Francisco, is a magnificent host, eager to ensure everyone has a most enjoyable evening. Finally, if the night is right (as it was this time) dining out on the patio makes the experience even more special.
Our waiter was in a hurry and abrupt. One order was incorrect and took awhile to replace with correct order. Waiter apologized but of course no concession offered or provided. Just not the usual service we have come to expect over the years we have dine here.
I've gone here a number of times - but not since the rehab. There were 2 of us so we were seated a small 2 person table in an area behind the bar. There was little room for people to walk through between the bar and the table, especially when the cart was there - where they make salsa for your table----- so constant chaos near our table. I always love the salsa since it is so fresh. It was very noisy in addition to the lack of space around us - which made the experience rather unpleasant. The food was good, as always ----- I wouldn't say great, though. The service was ok .
The service was painfully slow - it took 35 minutes before we had our drinks!
The food was OK, but not what we expected, maybe because the server was in a hurry to take our orders. The Mole Chicken was advertised to include nuts, banana's and tomatoes over a chicken breast, but was just plain brown gravy on pieces of chicken with some rice and re-fried beans - not a good value.
The small shrimp that came with the soft taco's were way overcooked - like pieces of rubber. Despite asking twice, we never got our tortilla's.
Some of us gave up on ordering an additional drink, as the server kept disappearing.
We all agreed we'd not go back here.
Nice first impression walking into the restaurant but the food was disappointing.
The seafood paella had very little seafood and the rice was mushy. The entrees with lobster was way too spicy to enjoy and we sent it back. The salsa lady and chips were great & the margarita was very good.
We loved the special at the table made Salsa and the roving band of musicians.
It made it an entertaining and authentic evening.
We had 4 couples from out of state visit us in March. The table side salsa was great as was the service. A great time was had by all.
The "Guad" is truly our favorite Mexican food restaurant. The entire staff, led by GM Francisco, is always friendly and service is excellent. The 'salseras' who make the superb table-side salsas to taste (spicy or not) and the delicious fresh guacamole really set the taste tone. The menu variety is outstanding -- should satisfy any desire. And the margaritas are truly the best in town. Finally, if the weather is nice, sitting out on the patio makes for a perfect evening.
I was there with a group of authors the first night of the Tucson Festival of Books, and we had a great time. The food was outstanding, and we loved the tableside salsa maker and having the mariachi at our table as we were finishing our meal. They time those offerings very well. However, it was rather noisy, so conversations were difficult, though possible. Also, our waiter was either flaky, too busy, or both, as he neglected a few things a more attentive person would have gotten right the first time. Really glad we made reservations - and would definitely recommend.
We chose to dine outside on the wonderful patio, the noise level is minimal there and it's the best outside service I've had. The food is wonderful, and salsa made at your table that's the bomb. The staff works together to make sure every customer is taken care of.. if your thinking about going, stop thinking and go.
I took my son here for his birthday, the food was priced very well, but the rice was old with dry grains in it . The fish taco has a paper thin slice of fish and lettuce, a cold and soggy tortilla. I had thought they might do a desert and sing for my son when I mentioned it was his birthday. Instead had to order a scoop of fried ice cream for a price that was almost double our meal prices, and I sang to him by myself. The kitchen is in the center of open dinning room with booths around the kitchen separated by only a half wall. The chopping station was right next to us and we couldn't even hear each other speak across the table.
My son has special needs and I always feel so sad that he doesn't have friends to invite to a birthday, so I try to make it special for him. It was not a special dinner at all. Very disappointed.
It was super quiet on a Friday for lunch time. There weren’t very many tables but service was still slow. The lunch menu is fantastic- lots of options with great prices. The lunch portions are very big as well. Overall, it was a good experience.
Great food with great ambiance. Service was excellent. Fun place to go.
Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Tucson that is consistently good. Outstanding is the lobster enchilada, guacamole and table-prepared salsa to your taste, fish is well prepared. Good Margaritas.
We did not receive our food until 7:30, although we had plenty of chips. I don't like filling up on chips prior to eating a meal. We were there on a very busy evening (Valentines' Day) to welcome friends visiting us from Chicago. All of your staff are very pleasant, but the slow delivery of our meal was rediculous. The Seabass I ordered was pretty much cold although the plate was heated! Also not acceptable. My request for a veggi substitute for the potatoes was honored and I appreciate that accomodation. Our calamari appetizer was delicious and served at a proper temperature. Our waiter was efficient and helpful, honoring our requests, but the late arrival of our food was out of his hands. Your kitchen was too busy for the sold-out crowd that attended. One suggestion: When your kitchen is overwhelmed by the crowd size, comp a single appetizer to the table. Make some gesture that shows you are aware of the inconvenience rather than just keep the chip basket full.
Our first return since the fire 2 years ago and feel that they have not missed a step. Menu has changed somewhat, but still there are lots of good choices. The salsa is made to order at the table to your specs. Margaritas were still great with many choices.
We had such a great meal at Guadalajara Fiesta Grill. Service was excellent by the server and the management who came around to ensure we had everything we needed, the famous table side salsa was amazing and the meals were all delicious.
This is a very run-of-the mill Americanized Mexican restaurant. More focused on quantity than quality.
Guadalajara is a great “go to” place for Mexican food. The table side salsa is fantastic and the food is always delicious. Fabulous choices of beverages to suit everyone. We had Chicken chimichangas and a shredded beef chimi. Good to the last bite!
Maybe there is new owership but this place has fallen greatly service and food were poor- not sure we will go back
We were extremely disapointed in the food. The salsa in our view was not good. Our friends that ordered fajitas found the chicken to be very dry. We will not be returning!
Great happy hour at bar. Salsa made table side. Great selection of meat, seafood and vegetarian.
Food items were not as described on menu. Server was not aware.
Food was delicious and service was good. The lunch specials are really good and does not take to long for them to be served.
Another great meal !!!
Juan Carlos our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Tried the Taquitos con Papas and it’s delicious! The chicken chimichanga was excellent as well. The table side salsa is made to your liking and that is nice for those who are more finicky or not tolerant of spicy salsa.
The patio, which was the primary reason we went there was closed. The food wasn't very good, it wasn't Authentic at all. You can tell it was just to please the local populace.
Always have a great meal and service at Guadalajara
I was looking for a 3-generation restaurant that would be comfortable and fun for ages 2 to 67. This was perfect for that. The food was good, the tableside guacamole was great - as noted by others, and the outside table was a perfect 3-sides "booth" for 5 adults and 2 munchkins. The service was excellent, and the value was good.
Great place to celebrate.....wonderful fajitas!!!
The customer service was great. The wait for the food was a bit excessive. The food was not too good. The food was definitely not worth the price paid. The good thing though was they give plenty of food for you to get really full. Overal it was a decent place, but not worth visiting too often.
The food was good but not as good as the last time we were there. The food came out fast and but we felt rushed by our server. The biggest complant was it was way to hot in building. We could not really enjoy our stay and did not feel like eating all of our food because of it.
Great Mexican food served by a friendly staff. One of our favorite things is that they prepare your salsa tableside and make sure it's suited just to your liking. Their outdoor patio is also nice in the fall and spring, but their summertime misters put out too much water and the mosquitoes were a big problem so we opted to sit inside this time. They need to warn people about the mosquitoes before they seat them outside as other folks moved back inside because of this, too. Despite the patio issues, we always enjoy it there.😊
Did not let open table know I was there.
This has been a family favorite dinner spot since we moved to Tucson! Always great food and drinks!
