We went last night for our 20th anniversary and were not quite sure what to expect. The service was phenomenal with the waiter, (Tyler I think), making excellent beer and entree suggestions. My husband is allergic to pork but they were happy to substitute for him and recommend things that he could safely eat. We were blown away by the flavors and the whole atmosphere was amazing. Definitely will return for the Christmas season because we heard that they are beautifully decorated for the season.

We have been going to Grunauer for several years now and they always hit the mark. Our server this last visit, Kat, was a rockstar. She was so attentive and took amazing care of us. The food came out quick, hot and was delicious as always. We finished with two different strudels for dessert. My only complaint is they got rid of the Varmmel (pork belly) appetizer, it was our favorite! We will definitely be going back and highly recommend it to anyone.

I love the Schweinbraten pork roast with braised red cabbage and spaetzle. The pork is tender and juicy in a light gravy. I like it with a Dunkel beer.

Our first experience here, and it was outstanding. Great variety of choices for both food and beverages. Our server was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, making the experience that much better. Our meals were very good, and the desserts were outstanding. We'll be back again for sure.

We decided to give this German/Austrian restaurant a shot. Our server was delightful. I would only add that it appeared she was not as familiar with the menu items tastes as we would have liked. While the appetizer, a ham and fried cabbage, was different and good, the price point was steep for what was received. We both enjoyed the entrees snitzle and goulash. Took me a moment to appreciate the taste of the goulash, but in the end, it was a very good product. We left full, and satisfied with the experience. However, not sure if we would return.

Meat and potatoes… check. Pork and giant dumpling… check. Warm bread… for a fee but we’ll with it. Perfect setting to dine with friends and enjoy a meal that was crafted to perfection. Will add this select spot to my list of special occasion restaurants.

Another outstanding night at Grunauer! The bar staff is incredibly knowledgeable about the beers and the history for each one. They’re extremely friendly and willing to answer any questions about some great beers! Then the food comes and it’s just delicious! We had the Friday special and Hungarian style goulash. It was absolutely amazing! Words can’t describe how good it tastes. Then our server Anthony, who was a great one and a lot of fun, recommended we go with the bread pudding instead of my usual apple strudel for dessert. I hate him now because I have 2 favorite desserts! The people and food at Grunauer keep us coming back! Go try it and I’m sure you’ll be coming back multiple times. The owners, who are super cool, have a great place and worthy of a visit!

3 stars is defined as “good”, and it was - overall - a good experience. No socks were knocked off, but there were no glaring deficiencies. The service was a bit … casual … as was the available knowledge of wine-food pairings, but the food was good, the prices probably fair (although $2.50 for a 2 inch roll seems a bit steep in comparison to other restaurants and the “free” birthday strudel did balance out the charge for a small scoop of ice cream) and the ambiance/noise level such that conversations were possible without shouting. We’ve been there before and we will be back … because it WAS - overall - a good experience.

Celebrating a special occasion. We come here quite a bit. It’s one of our oldest son’s favorite restaurants. Our guys love the beer choices. We like the atmosphere and the food, as always, is on point. Our son just returned from Hawaii, where he asked his girlfriend to marry him. We were celebrating them during this meal. We came to his favorite restaurant to kick off the evening. Everything was perfect. Great meal. A wonderful evening. We have so much to be grateful for. Thanks for the wonderful evening. We tried a couple new things. The salmon appetizer, so good. I had a spritzer wine that was amazing. And the sorbet dessert. Everyone needs to try that if they haven’t. It’s delicious. Of course, there’s the crepes and the other desserts, but after a heavier meal, that sorbet can’t be beat. It’s just amazing.

Grunauer’s is an exceptional dining experience.My wife and I travel to Vienna at least twice a year to visit family. The cuisine we encounter at Grunauer’s is on par with the finest Viennese restaurants such as the Steirereck, the Edvard or the Amador. My wife and I chose to celebrate the date of our 50th wedding anniversary at Grunauer’s with an intimate dinner for two. It was simply a wonderful evening of fine dinning.
