Grove Steakhouse at Viejas Casino
The food was delicious and the service impeccable. I had the bone in ribeye with shrimp add-on and my wife had the petite filet mignon with crab.
We had the calamari appetizer, amazing and the bread was hot out of the oven. Every time we have been here it has been delicious and memorable. Thank you!
I was expecting more for the price we had to pay. Everyone was nice but service wasn’t too great.
I like to see Escargots and goose liver on the menu soon. My family love it.
Birthday dinner couldn’t have been tastier or more enjoyable! Great staff, service and delicious food!
Went Saturday, February 29th, Leap Year. We always meet the same two couples and seem to always get the same large round booth, which we all enjoy very much. It was "our groups" 6th time at The Grove. The past 2 times, we experienced the same ... terrible service and food has gone way down hill. For groups of 6 or more, they always put a 20% gratuity, which other restaurants also do and we expect that with a larger group, HOWEVER this does NOT make them hungry to provide good service. Our server was very hard to "flag down" when you needed something ... In fact so bad, the table asked him how long he had worked there. His response; "21 years". Wow, with what they charge for dinner, then to get terrible service on top of that, quite frankly, we will not be darkening their doorway again. it is too bad, as we all use to truly enjoy and look forward to our time at "The Grove Steakhouse". VERY DISAPPOINTED!
"THE GROVE" IS OUR FAVORITE STEAKHOUSE, TOP QUALITY AND SERVICE
Great opportunity for my husband to have together to celebrate his birthday. Good food excellent service in a quiet ADULT setting. Peaceful
The service was impeccable, the food was excellent and the wine was tasty. Our waitress was very attentive but not intrusive. We truly enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be back.
Nice, food was wonderful, water was warm no other options offered.
Only issue was the waitress as she seemed stretched with the amount of tables she was serving. Little odd with only a hand full of customers.
Reservation process was the worst I had ever encountered. Finally the Grove Steakhouse recognized we had one after saying we did not (we had our conf #) and that they were full but that she found a table for us. But the entire time we dined that evening, we saw for 2 hours MOST of the tables empty! Why the lies? We have gone there for 20 yrs about twice a yr and tip well and treat the staff very well. Very strange problems at Grove Steakhouse these days. And a yr ago we had a less than competent waitress. It is on the verge of losing us as customers. Very poor business practice. The food was good, but not as good as it has been in the past. Overcooked meals, slightly, and a horrible featured dessert for my wife. Glad I ordered and enjoyed the apple crisp. Grove Steakhouse needs to get itself together or else lose some customers. Salad was great, steak was good.
The food was so delicious! I love the amuse-bouche they serve in between each of your plates to cleanse your palette. Ambiance was the perfect setting to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Very disappointing. This restaurant use to be amazing. No longer. From the starter of the bread to the meal. French onion soup sweet. Yuck. Lobster over cooked. Steak super salty. Baked potato cold and uncooked. Service was good. Food below average. Would not recommend.
Great food and service. The steak was amazing - perfect
Food and service was excellent. It was my birthday and was made special just by being there. Enjoyed the music being played as well.
It was a great first-time experience. Tina our waitress was great. The food was very good and they treated my wife and me very well. I will be back soon.
We waited 15 minutes and still no one came to get our drink orders. That is unacceptable. I finally had to get the attention of a busboy to get Service.
Some of the backs of the chairs were black from dirt and needed to be cleaned.
We were very happy with our steaks they were wonderful. It’s just a shame that the customer service was very slow.
I hope that this review helps to improve the service and cleanliness of the restaurant.
When we finally got our drinks they were fantastic.
This is the one great dining escape from the smoking! We really enjoyed it. The service was exceptional and the ambiance is excellent. Live music and relaxing decor. We loved the caprese, the NY steaks, and the cheesecake. You can’t smell smoke while inside and they keep the doors shut which we really valued. The only other place you can eat without smoke smell or without having to walk through wafts of smoke is across at the Outlet Center. We will definitely return!
The standard of service has most definitely declined.
Waitress seemed preoccupied and was not as attentive as usual.
We live nearby; have for years. This is where we go, together or with family or friends, for steak, period. We don’t come often, but every time we do, we’re so glad to be back and look forward to the next special/not-so-special occasion to enjoy great food.
Everything was outstanding. Our server was amazing and the food was fantastic. Our "go-to" for an excellent birthday dinner - always.
Great tender steaks! The pix 3 course menu was delicious! Try the filet mignon.. nice and tender! The calamari was not good at all... crap cakes much better!
We were staying at Viejas' The Willows resort and decided to try The Grove for dinner. It did not disappoint. My husband and I both had steak and seafood, an appetizer and a side dish. It was ALL very, very good.
The steaks were cooked to perfection, and were reasonable portions for the prices. The seafood tasted fresh, we had jumbo shrimp and lobster, both were amazing! We had NO room for dessert, unfortunately, but we have a great reason to go back!!
The only down side is that you have to go through the Casino to get to the restaurant, which is okay, but the casino is full of smoke and stinks. Otherwise, a very enjoyable dining experience.
Great experience! Excellent service! Outstanding food!
It was ok but nothing like Ruth Chris.
Really didn’t do anything for my wife’s birthday except putting a 25 cent candle on the desert that was included in price fix. Meat was well done in part and ordered medium.
Nothing spectacular. Not cheap
Awesome food and service was outstanding we were seated right away. There was no let down even using a travelzoo deal. The manager came over early and took care of the deal. Waiter made sure everything was to our satisfaction.
The waitress didnt appear to want to be bothered (Angelique) and was not very nice. We still tipped her 20%, but should not have with her attitude. The busboys were all super nice. The manager was very friendly. The food was OK. Baked and mashed potatoes not hot. Wedge salad was good. Filet decent, but again, not very hot. Nice wine list. What made the evening was the saxophone player; he was fantastic. For the price, go to Ruth’s Chris and get a far superior meal for about the same price with wait staff that dont get annoyed if you request something.
Like Frank Sinatra music
Toni is amazing we love her attentiveness and shes a sweet heart.. we really enjoy dining at the groove.. with Toni and the great food, it makes it a perfect dining experience!
The food and delicious and the service was incredible. Their scallops were amazing!
Never disappoints! They always make us feel special!
We had a delicious meal and we had a friendly server. I just wish she told us that the sides were pretty large. I ordered way to much food. The 20oz lobster was so scrumptious, the salads and fresh onion soup was very good as well.We really enjoyed our meal.
I spent $163.00
Our server name mrs. Toni was rude... did not meet expectations the busboy was good
The wait staff was great especially our server, Toni!
The Grove is always great one of my favorite steak houses. Are you sure was a great ambience at the grove!. My girlfriend loved her first time there.
It was Christmas 😔
The food was very good and our waitress was exceptional
Holiday dinner for a family of 6 adults. Round Table was weirdly centered making it difficult to sit without either leaning forward or falling in the crack of the booth seat. Very uncomfortable for two people. Also, music was too loud and not at all appropriate for fine holiday dining. Ex: Born to Be Wild. Really? Food was delicious as usual and service was very good.
Had a good experience a good time enjoyed ourselves.
