Grove Steakhouse at Viejas Casino Ratings and Reviews
He had the NY Steak (medium)--had better at the Alpine Bar & Grill. I had the Filet Mignon--it was great. Both had the asparagus-it was okay. Service was great. It would have been perfect, however, at the next booth over they were very loud and talkative, so we either had to talk loud to be heard, or not say anything. I think it was better when the backs of the booth seats had the partition so the noise from the next booth over didn't interfere with what was going on in your booth.
We were here to celebrate my wife's Birthday. The staff from the hostess to our waitress as well as others really help make this evening that much more special. My scallops were sheer perfection. My wife's steak was cooked exactly as she requested. The complimentary Birthday cake slice was indulgent. What a wonderful experience. We will definitely come back, and not just for a special occasion.
A very good meal for Thanksgiving.
The menu did not cater to the holiday but since we had no desire for turkey that was fine. We had lobster & one of the 3 sides we chose was the cauliflower gratin. This was just delicious, almost better than the lobster. Dessert options could be better but that’s an individual taste so can’t really say that’s a complaint. Our waitress was wonderful, helpful & obviously very experienced. An elegant experience. Would just like to see the lighting set a little bit higher!
Our service was great. They kept giving us little treats while we waited for our meals. I had the bone in Ribeye and it was amazing. The asparagus was flaverfull and also amazing. Our cocktail shrimp were huge and almost a meal by themselves. All around a wu see full meal. I will eat there again.
The food is delicious, everything I have had there is outstanding. Friday night I had the Filet Mignon and Giant Prawns, cooked perfectly. The Filet was very tender and just melted. Great atmosphere. Wagyu Steak is my husband's favorite, we've also had the Steak and Lobster. We also love the tasty amuse-bouche treat in between each course.
I booked this a couple of weeks ago for our anniversary. Open Table was easy and I received my confirmation right away.
We have eaten at the Grove many times in the past but we had not been there in a few years. The food was just ok, we both ordered the soup to start and it was cold, we ordered mashed potatoes with our meal and they were also cold. We were not in a rush as we had no place to be but dinner took forever. We were seated at 6:45 and we did not leave the restaurant until 9:25! They had a nice anniversary desert for us but it took so long that my wife and I were ready to go home so when she brought the desert I had to ask her for the check. Our waitress did not come by our table very much during our dinner and I think part of the reason our food was cold was because it just sat out while she waited on other tables.
Probably will not go back again. I think we can do as good or have a better meal at the buffet, then we can serve ourselves. Good luck:)
Had the petite filet, scallops, side of mushrooms and lobster mac n cheese. The filet was phenomenal. I had the Bearnaise sauce with mine and it was fantastic! The amuse bouche, palate cleanser and small truffle at the end added a very nice touch to an overall delicious meal.
We had 20% discount with the players card.
As always, food was great! My son tried a prime rib entree-can’t recall its name but it was super tasty!
I want to commend one of the assistants-he is tall, slender, sandy hair (Kurt?) who was very kind & helped me get up from my chair (bad back). Although I didn’t ask for help, he noticed my hesitation as I tried to stand. He said he’s used to helping his grandparents.
Tina, our server was wonderful, warm, humorous!
My wife and I went to the Grove for our anniversary. We made reservations ahead of time. When we got there. We were greeted and sat promptly.
Once we were sat. The buser came and delivered water and bread with butters.
Nick was our server. He was very knowledgeable, and made my wife and I very comfortable. He was able to explain the Game Trio. Also, Nick was able to recommend a beer to pair with my meal. It worked out well. Nick also was able to have a great conversation with us. He made the dinning experience more personal.
We were given little samples of other chef made treats. That was a nice passing of time between meals.
The only fault in the experience, was that I had to send two parts of my Trio back to be cooked properly.
At the end of our meal. We were given a slice of chocolate cake, with Happy Anniversary written on the plate. That was a great way to help celebrate a specialty event.
Overall, we had a great night at the Grove.
Poor service but excellent food. Server clearly was not interested in giving good service. There was no greeting when she walked up to our table, she just asked if we were ready to order. She didn't discuss any specials, just took the order and delivered the food. We only saw her when our food came out and we felt we were an inconvenience for her. The other servers assisting her were good. This is the second time we have sat in her area and we're disappointed. In the future we will request a different server.
Our first experience here, 1 yr ago, set a high bar and our latest was enjoyable, but not perfect. The service, menu, and food quality is great and this is a good place to unwind, relax, and enjoy dinner and drinks. A couple of items marred perfection, the music was a literal "shuffle" of everything from 1950's crooners to 1970's disco and rock to 1990's alternative and did not set the mood, and really does not match the interior decor or potential ambiance. In addition, against my better judgement, I ordered a cut of meat on the rarer side at the recommendation of the Server. It wasn't a filet or a leaner type cut, just a Fancy Japanese beef Flank with more marbeling and I should have stuck to my instinct. The cut ended up chewy and grisly and I could not finish it. I enjoyed the medium rare portions, so I probably would have benefited from not hearing the server.
Otherwise, a pleasant experience. We may try again.
Great restaurant. Our server, Nick, paired our entrees with great wines. We spent two hours here and the timing of appetizers, surprise petit tasting (it was good), main coarse to dessert was well thought out and made our time even more special. I highly recommend to make reservations and request a booth.
