Grove - Grand Rapids Ratings and Reviews
The food is 5 star, not just in GR, but compares to any 5 star on the planet. Service great too. That said, ambiance is 1 star, not just in GR, but any 1 star on the planet.
My recommendation is to start-up a conversation with the tables to the left/right thereby reducing the awkwardness of your neighbor being directly part of your conversation(s).
Arrived early so we could get drinks (the bar area could be bigger as there is no other room to wait in the winter). Nice bar service and seating ended up being earlier than our reservation. We weren’t rushed and had a very relaxed meal. Great timely and friendly service. The food choices were varied and interesting as always. Wish we lived closer and could come more often.
We really enjoyed our first experience with you. Nathan was very attentive. Professional yet friendly. Good wine selection and we liked those we picked. Food was creative but not at the expense of taste! Delicious lamb bolognese (enough for Janet's lunch the next day) and the seeded trout was exceptional. The real hit tho was the warm potato salad! We shall return ;-0
This was again, an amazing place for a date night or specifically Valentine’s Day. We both did the taste of grove, you pick two starters and an entree. The plating was beautiful, the staff incredible and it tasted amazing. I tried items outside of my comfort zone, which included raw beef and octopus tentacles. The cocktails where delicious and our waiter suggested something off menu. We also shared a wonderful dessert!! I highly recommend this place, but expect to spend $90 to $150
Impeccable service and gastronomy! We were blown away by the flavors and intentionality of the menu— making a clear mission statement something you CAN taste. Our server, Corinne (sp?) was a gem. Thanks Grove! We’ll be back with friends next time, and are already sharing the gospel of Grove with whoever will listen.
The service at the Grove was awesome! We made a reservation for our anniversary. When we arrived they put a happy anniversary note and a Champaign toast on the table. Beyond the great service, the food was delicious! I would definitely visit the Grove again.
The service was extremely prompt and courteous. The food was not only delicious, but creatively plated, which added to the dining experience. Superb listing of wine, spirits, beer, and cocktails (the Negroni was top-notch). Very clean facility, with a lovely, relaxed atmosphere. The prices would keep one from coming frequently, but the quality makes it worth it. Grove is perfect for special occasions.
We have been trying to go to Grove for a couple of years now and finally made it for New Years Eve. My only regret is we didn’t make it sooner! We had the 4 course tasting menu and it was fabulous! I’m always nervous about trying a highly rated restaurant because you are let down a lot, but not with Grove. Everything was spot on!
We enjoyed our visit for our anniversary. Staff made it very special with a handwritten card on table and champagne toast on arrival. We each did the tasting menu, a good value. We each enjoyed our dishes and thought they were cooked technically well. Some of the presentation choices and what was included on the plate (some flavor or color combos) were a little confusing but still enjoyable! Overall we had a great experience and really appreciated our attentive waiter and friendly staff.
This was a special occasion for my wife and I. We usually pick a really nice place for dinner once or twice a year. This was the best food we have ever had. That being said, the noise level was much higher than we expected. It was not a quiet intimate dining experience, but oh man was the food phenomenal.
What an outstanding find in GR....suggested by a customer who had not been there before...thoroughly enjoyed our meal...creative chef/culinary team....excellent, knowledgeable wait staff...Nicholas was perfect for our group of a couple of foodies and others who like good food..great place for a business dinner...good diverse wine list....
