Grouse Mountain Grill Ratings and Reviews
Celebrated 41st wedding anniversary. Spectacular table with phenomenal view of mountains. Server was very informed about the menu and selections, describing dishes well without pushing one selection or another. Extremely attentive and pleasant. Food was simply outstanding. A very memorable evening
Food was very good, and service was outstanding. But the seating leaves a lot to be desired. Sat at a combo table and booth for two, with my back to the "limited" view of the mountain. For the price, not worth it. So many other very scenic chooses with as good as food, in the valley so opt for both in the future.
Grouse Mountain Grill in Beaver Creek is totally outstanding. From the decor to all of the food to the service and drinks. Desserts were absolutely amazing. The head chef was in the kitchen the night I was there and that is always appreciated. Best food quality in the Vail area.
Exceptional food!!!! Went there for my 50th BDay. Could have been some of the best food I had in my entire life. Excellent job Chef!
While not inexpensive, fair prices for food and service quality. Server Rachael was amazing.
Hope to be back Jan 2018 or 2019. Will definitely stop back here.
Drinks: Cocktails were quite good, and wine selection fine.
Food: ricotta and salmon starters were decent. The meal, however, fell apart with the mains. The $41 ritz-crusted walleye had a crust that ranged from soggy to gummy, with no discernible walleye flavor. The trout was slightly better, with the fish decent, however the accompanying gnocchi overwhelmed the whole dish with raw garlic.
Service: this was the most puzzling and disappointing part of the meal. It started with the hostess, who was singularly unenthusiastic and appeared to have places she would much rather be. Other staff (servers) shared this disinterested air. Our server was reasonably friendly until she asked how the meal was at the end, and we politely expressed disappointment with the walleye. At that point she acted shocked, muttered something, and then immediately vacated our presence. She only returned to wordlessly plunk the bill on our table. The overall behavior was unique in my years of dining, and suggests the restaurant has issues that go beyond the cuisine. Overall, a remarkably poor ending to a week of excellent food and service in the Beaver Creek area.
Music was in a different room from where we dined but it was still a bit too loud for easy conversation with my husband across the table. Dinner was good, enjoyed the trout and the rabbit as entrees. The chef sent out a miniature pasta appetizer and it was divine!
We dined here for my husband's 50th birthday and it did not disappoint. It was the best meal we had during our trip. Rain kept us from sitting outside, which would have been perfect. The ravioli was amazing and I would love to go back again next week have it again. Hubby's veal was outstanding as was the walleye. While this was not the most expensive meal we had in BC/Vail, this was definitely the best service of any restaurant. Cocktails were great and we enjoyed a nice bottle of wine suggested by our server. My only complaint was the noise level due to a table of 20+. Can't wait to go back
Very rarely do you go to a restaurant where EVERYTHING is perfect, and the price is validated by the food, drinks, service and experience - I cannot say enough good things about this place. Absolutely make a trip to this wonderful place. Start with drinks in the Bar (after 6:30) to enjoy the lively piano player before dinner. The music from the Bar lounge can be heard throughout the restaurant (it may be piped in!), and adds to the wonderful atmosphere. Everything on the menu is delicious, but it's the standard freshly made Dinner Rolls to start that I wish I could pack a suitcase with. Seriously.
We have looked forward to visiting Grouse Mountain Grill again! Our first time was a year ago and it blew our minds. The food was so yummy and memorable. In anticipation of our trip here, we actually started craving this place! It did not disappoint - it was just as fantastic as we had remembered.
Needless to say, we believe the food is fantastic. The worst thing is having to decide what to order! The staff and service is top notch. The piano player/singer is a perfect addition to such a great atmosphere. The view out of the dining room is of the Aspen trees in the mountains. We saw a double rainbow the first time. This time, it was the dance of hummingbirds. :)
Strongly and highly recommend!
This dinner would be a contender for my last meal--it was exceptional! It started with the tender and flavorful bread made by the pastry chef. We had two pastas for our entrees. The agnolotti was divine--sweet and buttery. And the gnocchi was better than we've ever had (and we live in an area with lots of Italian expertise). The chocolate bread pudding with homemade ice cream was the perfect ending. Our server, Stephen B., was attentive and spot-on with his recommendations. Yes, this restaurant is pricey, but in this case, so worth it! And I can't forget to mention the beautiful mountain view.
This is the 10th year my wife and I had an anniversary dinner at Grouse Mountain (this was our 37th wedding anniversary). We were seated in the fourth (last) row away from the window views, and were the only people in this row. Indeed, everyone else was in row one or two. When asked why we were seated there when not one other party was, the Assistant Manager immediately stated we were not "discriminated against". I am still not clear why he said this or what he meant. He also indicated we did not complain when seated, so he assumed it was ok. After dinning for nearly 3 hours and ordering a very nice bottle of wine (which we had to partially pour ourselves), the restaurant finally seated other parties in the fourth row away from the windows.
Hence, be sure to complain about your seating when seated or you may be given the worst available seating.
Very unfortunate event after so many years and good memories. The food does however, remain outstanding.
