A wonderful experience in a cozy restaurant. We loved the spring inside the grotto and our food was delicious. My wife had a charred filet steak perfectly cooked along with acorn squash, a very unusual item for an extra but perfectly done. My wife does these at home and was impressed a chef would try this. I had grilled Portobello mushroom with balsamic glaze and goat cheese on top. Just the best. Parking is a little tough but there was a nearby lot down the hill that had space. We were very glad we got a reservation while in Eureka Springs. Very fun and the wood cooking they did with hickory and white oak was perfect.
The food was so good. We had appetizers- bone marrow and chicken wings. Both outstanding! Chicken wings were substantial size too. Then main course was the filet which was cooked to perfection and melted in mouth. Desert we had the white cake. Highly recommend the Grotto. Make reservations as smaller establishment and allows for less wait time. We had reservation and were taken right to our table as others were waiting to be seated.
What a great place to eat while in Eureka Springs. Food and service was excellent and cooked to perfection.
This experience was one of the highlights of our trip to Eureka Springs Arkansas! For our meals, it was THE highlight. From the minute we walked in we were welcomed and treated very well. Reservations are highly recommended. They had to turn away several who came in without one. The staff is amazing. Very hard working, professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. My daughter and I both had Filet Mignon and boy were they amazing!!! We also enjoyed the Peppered Goat Cheese small plate, and for dessert, she had the Chocolate Mouse with raspberry sauce and I had the Bread pudding. There is also an impressive wine list. I cannot wait to go back during my next visit! This restaurant is a MUST!
Food was amazing, service was perfect we will definitely be stopping here again.
Excellent food, top notch service, knowledgeable staff and great atmosphere.
Great food, great service, tasty beverages, wonderful atmosphere!
The food was absolutely delicious, the wait staff was very kind and on top of service! Very pretty scenery!
Staff was awesome, great vibe, amazing food! We will definitely come again the next time we are in town!
I took a group of college students to Eureka Springs for their fall break. The Grotto was highly recommended so we made reservations to give it a try. Everyone’s food was out of this world! We are big foodies and love to try high end steaks (Ruth’s Chris, Morton’s, etc). My filet at the Grotto was one of the top steaks I’ve ever had. Their mushroom bisque and sides were amazing! Some of our group ordered the salmon and pork and those also received high reviews. Highly recommend!
Food and service were terrific, Robbie was our bartender/ server.
We dined here for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. Great food and service. However parking near the restaurant is virtually impossible.
The food was wonderful! Each person at our table ordered something different, and we all enjoyed our meals. The drinks and desserts were great also. Service was super!
Food was great an lovely atmosphere.
We discovered The Grotto on our first of 4 visits to Eureka Springs this summer. We’ve eaten here every time and each visit has been better than the last. We’ve traveled a lot around the country and in Italy, this is our favorite restaurant, anywhere! The food is fabulous, the duck is like a filet minion, the wings are entree worthy, the Mac n cheese melts in your mouth and the filet was the best I’ve ever eaten. The atmosphere and decor is beautiful and tastefully thought out. The service is very friendly and attentive! Looking forward to and planning our next visit!
I was on vacation with my husband.
I would not eat the steak. Too much gristle and way overcooked for the price. I was told it was a prime beef but it had to have been choice. Otherwise it was. Great experience.
The setting is unique and pleasing. The food was wonderful. Drinks were overpriced and the crowd is a little pushy which effects their rush to get you out of there. Entrees came when we weren’t even finished our appetizers.
This is really a wonderful dining experience in the heart of old Eureka. Highly recommended for the food, ambiance, price and atmosphere.
Please thank our server Rhonda for such a warm welcome during our stay. She made our anniversary very special.
Our visit was wonderful. Steaks cooked to perfection. Our server Mike was great! Visit could not have been better!
We loved the food. Our waiter was very nice took care of us. The steak and pork chops was cook just right for us. Thank you for a wonderful time
We absolutely loved our first trip to Grotto, so much so that we knew we had to eat there again on our next trip to Eureka. However, this second trip didn’t live up to the first. They were out of Mac n cheese, which wouldn’t have been a big deal if that didn’t also happen to us the first time we visited. Secondly, we ordered the ribeye and asked for medium and got medium rare…at best. There were parts my husband and I couldn’t even stomach to eat it was so rare. I so wish it would have been as good of an experience as our first visit there, but we both left feeling kind of meh.
Sarah waited on us and the service was excellent. Food was great. Very enjoyable experience.
Enjoyed our time very much!! Wonderfull and delicious food!!! Highly recommend it!
Rhonda offered awesome service with great menu knowledge, very personal and friendly. The food was exquisite! The squash and mushrooms stole the show, I would recommend the bread pudding.
AMAZING! We will definitely go back. The atmosphere and food were all top notch. The restaurant was recommended to us by a friend.
We had the rib-eye and salmon entree’s - the food was delicious. The staff were friendly and perfectly attentive. We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this restaurant.
Awesome experience!! Food was outstanding!! Ambiance was very neat!
The food had a great flavor. I feel like for the price of the establishment, there wasn’t enough food. I was so hungry when I left, we had to stop somewhere for me to get something else to eat. I ordered what was supposed to be an 8-9 oz Sirloin and squash. As I said the flavor was amazing. But the steak was tough and was around 5-6oz, and I was given one slice of squash. All Entrees only come with one side, of course you can add another for a price. My squash had hard pieces all around it, so made it hard to eat. My husband ordered asparagus and received 3 stalks. We commented on the amount of food we received, the waitress came and she replied “that’s the normal amount we give” occasionally we do not mind to spend a great deal of money on a special dinner out. I just think for a $45 plate of food it should come with a little more food. The experience was great and fun. The establishment was beautiful, but if you actually want to get full and you don’t have the stomach the size of a bird, I wouldn’t recommend this place.
Food was fantastic- great place
This was the best place my wife and I ate during our week in Eureka Springs. My wife is not usually a steak-eater but we'd been advised to order the Filet before going and it did not disappoint. At initial look, the prices seemed a bit steep but it was hard to be too critical when looking at our clean, happy plates.
A beautiful atmosphere and the food was excellent.
Fantastic experience! The food was amazing. The staff was super friendly and upbeat. Quaint environment. Would highly recommend to anyone!
Our party arrived 10 minutes early for our reservation. We were promptly sat and given water by the hostess. We then waited well over 15 minutes for a server to approach. She introduced herself and got our drink orders. We ordered several mixed drinks off of the house menu. She stated there was no bartender and she would have to make the Cocktails herself. It took quite a while, as she also had other tables. The Cocktails were fair at best. It's not really her fault, a place like this should have a bartender dedicated to the drinks. We ordered the peppered goat for an appetizer. It was lovely presentation, but so so so spicy with the combination of cracked pepper and jalapeño jelly. The combination of spice heat and oil heat was way over powering and lingered unpleasantly. Our entrees arrived promptly and were well plated. However, everything was way over cooked. The 3 fish entrees were very dry, the two sides of fries were so burned it was like eating charcoal, the meat on the sliders was cooked into little tough hockey pucks, and the acorn squash side was soggy black mush. We asked the server once she came around to check on our table if the two sides of fries could be replaced. She stated that the kitchen was all closed up and we couldn't get replacements. So she took money off the ticket. As nice as that was, we had our food 10 minutes and there were inedible sides. An effort should have been made to fix this, not just a comp. So half of our party only had dry fish for dinner. The server and ambiance were the only positive attributes of our visit. It was obvious that they decided to have the B team work on a Monday night. I'm hoping the chef was off work, because that was not food quality we expected based on the reviews, local recommendations, and the food hall of fame win. We left disappointed and hungry.
Last meal of a road trip weekend
Unfortunately, we got stuck next to very loud drunk people who obviously have never eaten at a high end restaurant. We ate quickly and got out quickly. It wasn't a fun experience! When you pay that kind of money for dinner, people like that should be escorted out.
Fantastic food and service! Best meal I had had in a long time!
We were hoping for a nice, quiet drawn out dinner that “would excite the senses.” Big group, very loud, came in after us and just ruined it. Didn’t feel like I was eating in a cave at all. There is a nice major rock in the restaurant but only 2 tables are by it. The others are close to the busy entrance. Could see the kitchen and just looked and felt like a regular restaurant.
We always make sure we eat here when in Eureka. Excellent food & service. We specified where we wanted to be seated in our reservation & they had us right where we wanted to be. Drinks were great too. Steaks perfectly cooked. Service couldn’t be better.
