The small plates menu was wide and varied with plenty of options to please any diner. Between five adults we tried mushroom brie bisque, bone marrow, peppercorn goat cheese with candied jalapeños, and quail poppers. All preparations were on point and satisfying as were our mains. BUT for an establishment that carries “wine” in its title, the wine selection is sorely lacking. I am not a collector or wine snob pf any sort but I suspected as much without a wine menu present online. I called ahead to find out what varietals & regions their wines came from and was told I would get a text with an image of the wine list which never arrived. As ours was a special occasion, I asked about bringing in a special bottle and was told there would be a $15 corkage fee which turned out to be $25 per bottle. With only 5-6 bottle options available and none of them unique or impressive, we were glad we brought our own wine. Neither issue is an unforgivable offense, and both the service and host staff were excellent. As long as you aren’t going for a wine bar experience, the food is worth the visit.
Seated shortly after arriving for our reservation. The atmosphere is very intriguing. Drinks were delicious. The food was one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten. Will definitely be coming back.
If you want a nice restaurant with a great wine menu, this is your restaurant! The service was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect!
Enjoyed our evening and the food and waitress was wonderful! Glad we made a reservation!
Wonderful service, fantastic food, menu is not overwhelming but still has great variety, smallish but excellent wine list, and even though our reservation was 15 min before closing time, they treated us like their favorite customers and that is RARE. We didn't feel rushed at all and no one started cleaning floors around us either. Also rare. Very much appreciated the entire great service and great food experience! Perfect special occasion place and quiet enough to converse with "inside voices."
We were here two years ago and our second visit last week did not disappoint. It is refreshing to go back to a restaurant and find the same excellent quality and service is still there. Even thru Covid. Make reservations ahead of time because during Covid they have fewer tables and every table was full and as soon as one party would get up and leave there was another party waiting outside to get in because it is just that good and this was on a Wednesday night.
Amazing ambience and exceptional white sangria. I would go back regularly if I lived near.
Server rushed our entree order, because the "wood-fired oven fire is getting low, and we need to put our order in before it goes out." WTF?? I guess they were unable or unwilling to add more wood to the oven. Our reservations were for 9:00 pm; if they are unwilling to keep the oven going to satisfy all customers, then DON'T ACCEPT LATE RESERVATIONS!!! After saying something to our server post-meal, his excuse was the people before us were "seated at our table too long". But we were seated at 9:00, the time of our reservation. UNACCEPTABLE! We were in and out of there within an HOUR. And we has appetizers as well. Entrees were satisfactory, but that's all. Not impressed with their quality of food for what they charge. I do NOT recommend this place to anyone. It was our last, and worst meal of our 5-day vacation in Eureka Springs. Very, VERY disappointed.
Excellent staff, food was prepared perfectly, ambiance was ideal. Great for a special occasion or just a great evening.
Hands down the best steak I have ever tasted. We ordered the center cut ribeye steak and it was cooked to perfection at a medium rare. The wine soaked mushrooms really awaken your palette as you take your first bite. The Mac and cheese was as gourmet as you can get. You just savor each bite. To finish off you must try the salted caramel white cake. This cake is what poems are written about. Just amazing.
We were pleased to see tables spread apart for social distancing. Our waiter was very Informative and polite. We shared a couple of small plates and a ribeye which was the star of the meal! Cooked to perfection! One of the best steaks we’ve ever had.
The experience was very nice! We were most impressed with the side dishes to be honest! The corn dish was amazing, as was the mac-n cheese! The Salmon was delicious as well. The steak was almost over-tenderized. It had a weird texture and not a ton of flavor. The bread was burnt and to charge a buck for butter to go with the bread is cheap! We had the chocolate desert and it was also delicious. Our waiter was polite and efficient! Overall a very nice experience!
Great food and atmosphere. Wine selection outstanding!
Very good service and an excellent meal!!!
Amazing food!!!! Will definitely be returning! The Mac and cheese was so thick and creamy, the duck breast was very well cooked, the ribeye had a great sear on the outside and plenty of juice on the inside! The sauces were all amazing
We made reservations at The Grotto based on my son's recommendations, and it was everything he had said it was and more! Our party of four all agree it was one of the best meals we have ever eaten. The mushrooms were by far my favorite item....fantastic! The service was top-notch as well. We can highly recommend The Grotto!
We had a wonderful experience. The food and service was terrific. Our waiter was very helpful with his knowledge of the menu.
My husband and I really enjoyed this restaurant. The atmosphere was a little dark and swanky and with the cave rocks, just overall very inviting. Drinks and food were great as was our waiter. Very professional and had all the answers to our questions. The salmon and brussels sprouts delish and would highly recommend. Make sure to make reservations next time you're in Eureka as you will not be disappointed.
Ryan was a wonderful greeter and took great care of us. The service overall was perfect and the food was delectable. The sirloin was perfect and the mushrooms and squash were a perfect compliment. We will be back!
Not much else to add to the other reviews, excellent food, service and atmosphere
Awesome food. We had a wonderful server.
We were in town for our anniversary and some friends told us that we had to eat here. After five nights we finally made it happen. It was a fabulous dinner and great romantic ambiance for our anniversary dinner. Our friends told us that you have to get the quale. My wife was suspect but we both loved it. Amazing dinner and an amazing place.
We went to The Grotto for our anniversary. We were greeted with champagne while we waited for our table. The entire staff was friendly and very helpful. Our waiter was excellent. All of his recommendations were spot on from wine, appetizers, dinner and dessert. Great atmosphere to enjoy a nice dinner for conversation. 5 stars all around. Would definitely recommend to anyone going to Eureka Springs.
Absolutely amazing food and atmosphere. Staff is extremely professional and took care of us! Loved the wine recommendations and I had a very tasty cocktail as well. Food was delicious... I had the smoked duck while my boyfriend had the sirloin. Both were melt in your mouth and full of flavor!
Both the salmon and duck were excellent. We enjoyed the option to pick our own sauces. Our server was extremely helpful and professional.
Wonderful place to eat
Outstanding food and service. Good Covid awareness and procedures
We ordered the sirloin steak with horseradish yogurt sauce, delicious! Also the porkchop. For dessert we had the salted caramel cake, also a winner. I would definitely recommend this place while visiting Eureka Springs.
If you are anywhere near Eureka Springs, GROTTO is a must see for a unique experience while dining. It’s the second time I’ve been there with my husband and both times were incredible! You hear people talk but it was never loud. You’re eating next to a cave with low lighting. You can taste the difference in your wood fired food. You can make a reservation online (I suggest doing so). Check out their website that shows pictures of the place but there’s nothing like it once you go inside. Concerned about COVID? Staff wear masks and gloves, washing hands frequently and using hand sanitizer. There is space between you and other guests (therefore make a reservation). Enjoy! My husband and I have twice and we are from Kansas City, MO.
The food and service at the Grotto has always been great, very professional, really good food.
The rib eye was incredible and so was the red sangria! The only disappointment was the special drink request was not made properly, not good at all and the dessert was way over priced.
We really enjoyed our dinner at Grotto. The Quail poppers appetizer was fantastic. The service was great and the ambience was wonderful.
Excellent food and service
Great as always, one of the main reasons we come to Eureka Springs.
To give them credit, we visited during Covid stage 2 reopening. The atmosphere was disappointing.. seemed a little too contrived. Wait staff was awesome! Food leaned heavy toward smoked flavors which was my taste turn off. Best thing on my plate was the side: the crimini mushrooms! Perect. The portabello, although described deliciously, was way too balsamic vinergry and the awesome waiter took it off my ticket as it was inedible.. my friend and I enjoyed the cjarred romaine and and she loved the generous portion of a smoky porkchop. The outstanding appetizer for myself was what the waiter called “the polarizer”, the bone marrow. Served however without a correct marrow spoon, it was difficult to obtain, but delicious and so satisfying served on toast points!
The food was top of the line, the service was spectacular, and the atmosphere was perfect. We are definitely returning to this amazing restaurant.
Wonderful meal. Quail poppers were moist and delicious. Rib eye cooked perfectly and great quality. Salmon very well cooked and wonderful. Nice wine menu and great atmosphere.
Overall we had a great dinner and time. The waiter did suggest the special. That being said when telling us of the special there was never a price given. We were there for a birthday so it didn’t matter but to some it might. Only other thing was they sat us right next to another table of people. With everything going on we would have liked to have been a little farther from others. We followed the mask rules but other were allowed to not completely follow them.
Incredible! The food and service were both amazing.
