Grissini Ratings and Reviews
We arrived a little early and our friends were not there yet. We were asked to sit at the bar to wait which is fine... but you cannot sit at the bar on a Saturday night. The bar is extremely small plus people were dining at the bar which makes no sense on a busy Saturday night. So my husband and I were standing behind a couple sitting at the bar and right on top of them. There is no room to even put your drink! While we thought the good was very good and the service was outstanding; I am not sure we would go back.
First and last time here.
Waiter came over and spoke about the specials. I ordered the Dover sole. It was good but nothing special as it was server with butter/wine sauce on the side and a few roasted potatoes and some steamed vegetables. The bill came and my Dover sole was $70. I feel like the restaurant took advantage with their special prices. When you have a dish that's a special and almost double the price of most menu items it should be know to the one ordering it. My fiancé has their grilled shrimp and that was 3 grilled shrimp (no sauce) and same blah sides that I had for $39. Way overpriced for a restaurant in Englewood Cliffs.
He grew up going here and it was the last time he'll be back.
Grissini is my one of my all-time favorite restaurants. Hopefully you will be greeting by Michael, one of the head managers/dining room maitre'd. We try to make it here every possible chance we can and he always fits us in. The staff is very friendly & genuinely one of a kind that treats every guest like family... it's almost like they've been anticipating to see you all week long hahaha. Thank you for again for your humble hospitality and always a great meal... try the oysters, burrata, crab cake, and shaved white truffles over your choice of pasta or risotto. We look forward to seeing you again in a few weeks! Cheers!
Having been here several times before for corporate diners, this was a bitter disappointment . From being seated across from the kitchen door entrance, the wine ordered wasn't available, my steak ordered medium showed up medium well and without any side dishes until I asked where they were (forgotten). Our waiter seemed totally disinterested in providing any service, disappeared throughout most of the meal and didn't check when our food was delivered.
Worse of all I had indicated it was a special occasion when making the reservation (birthday) dinner and absolutely no mention was made of the event nor any special request taken for the birthday girl.
Last time I will step in here
Love this place!! The food is outstanding, some of the best Italian food we have had and the staff and very professional and accommodating. We had two kids with us and they went out of their way to meet our requests. Definitely recommend and will go back. We tried the fresh burrata with heirloom tomatoes, the cod fish and the truffle risotto from the special of the day; very very good. The bucatini pasta is my fave!
Excellent fried artichokes and veal chop.
Terrible cosmo. It may have been made out of dry mix. Terrible peppercorn crusted filet mignon. Arrived without peppercorn crust. Tough as a shoe bottom. I always order it. It used to be tender and flavorful. Not this time... Ugh... I believe they are getting meats from different vendor. Not a good decision!
The food at Grizzinis is excellent. The wait staff and the bar tender are very professional and do an excellent job. The atmosphere is very welcoming. We had vast array of appetizers Pizza, calamaria and meatballs. All were excellent. The South African prawns were excellent as well as the other fish dishes that were served. If your looking for fine dinning experience Grizzini is solid choice.
Decided to give Grissini a try after not being there a while though we have tried it for lunch and we liked it so dinner sounded like a good idea. However our overall experience left us feeling quite bad since we got almost no attention while other tables were being attended to and we arrived and were seated before the others. The food was fine, the wine also good but the lack of service was very off putting and no one found it important enough to apologize. Almost felt
Invisible a few times Sunday evening. When we left we did complaint to Victor who admitted that they were short staffed in the kitchen. Too bad: we won't be back to Grissinis in the near future.

The place wasn't very busy and there wer lot of open tables. Yet they seated us on a small table right by the kitchen even though there were lot of tables inside more private.
Waiters were difficult to get a hold of. I don't know what kept them so busy. It seemed like there were more employees than customers.
